Actual journalists don’t take money from organisations they cover. Helwani was a paid UFC shill. And it’s hilarious to compare the softball interview he gave Papa H to what he gave Khan.

Tony Khan has been denying and deflecting questions and critiques for the past three years, so nobody should be shocked by this. He has been getting underhand softballs pitched at him this whole time, so how are people expecting him to answer complex questions.

tbh Tony was lowkey hilarious when he came up with more creative ways to say 'nah we're not gonna talk about this' and it was increasingly more rude/disrespectful to Halwani but Tony just said it like it was a regular Tuesday lmao

Ariel - Hey so what's the weather been like TK - Again, I can't comment on anything to do with the weather that might affect several people and stuff, but I certainly have been very active looking at the rainy weather in Britain, where we've seen some strong ratings and we moved the show up, Britain has been such a good market for us and having Dynamite on on Friday nights at 8 has served us so well, those British fans are very brand loyal but also hungry for wrestling so it's been a perfect fit, when we approached iTV for the deal, I repeatedly asked them for a weekend gig to get close as possible to the old World of Sports timeslot but unfortunately we couldn't do that so we went with the Friday night slot

Yeah it was an hour and seventeen minutes. I listened to some of it, thinking it would be like the interview Ariel did with HHH which was really good because HHH was pretty open all things considered. But I made it about 15 minutes in before I accepted that TK was never going to answer anything, continue going on and on with no answers and just spend the entire time promoting whatever show was coming up at the time. And seeing the clip recaps from it I now know that I made a good decision. TK really needs to get a solid PR person to either coach him, handle this stuff for him or both because he came off like such a goof with this.

And I believe the show he spent the entire interview promoting ended up going down like 15% from the prior week and was the lowest Rampage rating since July. Here’s to hoping (although it won’t happen) that TK eventually learns that nobody gives a shit about Battle of the Belts for a company that has overloaded the show with belts and done nothing substantial to make any of them outside of the AEW World Title mean something. And even the AEW Title isn’t because of something he did but more so just because of how great Mox has been.

After listening to this interview, and I'm a huge AEW fan, I can understand all the problems of the company come from one man and it's the owner. Someone in the public relations business should give Tony some lessons and tricks and cues. When looking at how things have gone over the past year or so I’m not sure why any young wrestler who has an offer from both companies would ever sign with AEW. I can see why people went there intially when it was being portrayed at this land of creativity and a locker room paradise. But now that you see that hardly anybody who made the move from WWE to AEW has fared any better there outside of the top guys like Mox or Danielson I can’t see what would even tempt you about it anymore. Especially now that the biggest headache in WWE (Vince) is gone. Outside of older wrestlers who want to work a light schedule for a large amount of money I can’t imagine anything about AEW that would appeal over WWE now. Once the current WWE transfers leave id be genuinely for anybody to choose AEW outside of being released by WWE and needing a job.

As it relates to talent i imagine they’ll become what TNA once was: a place where unknowns can get known to go to WWE or older WWE guys go for a light schedule.

However, we as the common person would give somewhat logical reason as to why we don't want to answer a question, we wouldn't start promoting where we worked as an alternative. Now, to go onto a show knowing the in-depth knowledge of the wrestling business such as Ariel Helwani and essentially waste his time for an hour, you can see how it would get frustrating. I do believe Grand Funk Master Chief could have got his point across in a more sensible way, but such is life I guess.
