As I understand RNLI is a charity relying on our donations to exist. I do not expect my donations to go towards rescuing illegal immigrants 6 miles off the French Coast. The lifeboat crews must be knackered and out of pocket as they don't have a chance to pursue their normal employment. They should be compensated by the Government. The French don't want them only our money.
In a few months the usual appeals will be on the radio. 'Can you spare £27.54p to give a bed to the homeless over Christmas' It now transpires it could take 5 years to process migrants. So a homeless Brit living in shop doorways will now know migrants are living in 4 star hotels for 5 years.

The law should be changed. If you "rescue" people in the Channel, any boat and crew landing them in the UK should be charged with aiding and abetting people smuggling. They should be imprisoned and their vessels impounded.

Jim we have absolutely no responsibility to these illegal migrants PERIOD! We should not be paying the French a single penny. Our Border force should not be acting as a taxi service, they should be patrolling the channel to stop them entering UK waters! Any that do reach our shore must be held in a secure facility untill they give their true identity and place of origin, once that is verified then the home office can send them back if there is no likely hood of them being killed! NO OTHER OPTION SHOULD BE GIVEN!

So why don't we revoke the French fishing boat permits, every time a migrant boat arrives revoke one fishing permit. the fishermen in France will be at Macrons door in a flash and he will be forced to sort it out!!!!!

I wondered what that click noise was then realised it was your frustrations taken out on a pen! Expat here in Australia..we stopped the boats by not allowing them to reach our shores and processing applications offshore at Nauru and PNG. Which we paid for. UK in totally different situation geographically I can't think how you can stop this..
