Yeah, India's growth could pass China. So does every other country in the world. But Indian needs to be aware that could only happen by working, not talking.

base on my calculation and I assume gdp of india growth by 10% yearly, and china's gdp growth by 7.5% p.a then india will catch up china only after 60 years but when it will happen?

Hey guys, Chinese and Indian shouldn't struggle with each other. Both China and India are developing country. What we should do is work together to break the ordinary international rule designed by western countries since the WWII. Believe me, most Chinese enjoy peace. We don't want to offend or battle with ANY country.

China has a lot for India to learn from. China and India was basically the same on 1990. Now China has an economy 6 times of Indian's.

Fr0zenKaos India started Global trade in 1991, China started Global trade in 1978. China was ahead by 13 years. China has 3% Poverty, India has 30% Poverty but is still catching up with Chinese Growth Rate and Economy. What does this say ?

Ali R Growth rate over a period of 10 years basically predicts an Economy. China grew at 9 - 12% for 10 years from 1990s - 2000s, India is at this stage now with 8% - 12% Growth predicted for the next 10 years, . Wait and watch for the next 10 years and be the judge.
@sm5467
@sm5467 8 лет назад
Black Pagan Bro, you are partly correct. But unfortunately, China's economy is slowing down & India is rising. These are the real facts produced by Forbes & TED.
@edwardtang1977
@edwardtang1977 9 лет назад
To double an economy , one must grow at 10% per year for 8-10 years. India isn't doing that. So it is mathematically impossible. Even if India does it...China has done it for 30 years. So ..India will grow...but catching up to China would take a long long time. And China isn't stopping ,ya know?
@dasuberking
@dasuberking 8 лет назад
the major reason why people say india will overtake China in the future us cuz the Chinese work force is aging and that will affect the productivity of the nation dramatically so China won't be able to maintain the current growth rate.. while Indias work force is young and is set to increase as more people move from rural areas which amounts for 60% of the population and also due to a 6% population growth.. secondly due to China being an autocracy which will undoubtedly have social problems by the people as time goes on.

@ambroseliu6207
@ambroseliu6207 6 лет назад
DasuberKing I partially agree with it. You overlook the structure global manufacture is now shifting to automatic and AI in the following decade. As a result ,the cheap labor cost is no longer a benefit to industrialise, the robot can replace worker hand in massive production, the western、china would be losing a lot of job compare to robot,so let see china is now upgrading their industry leading to unemployment of the factory worker they used to be. You can see more chinese company is standing up as a giant dominating in different global industry such as metal (steel...)、heavy industry、heavy machinery、Building construction、Shipping、infrastructure、petroleum、electronic products、internet tech、drone....etc. They invest in China and making the whole industry staying in China what you can see.Those company compete with western business giant. But the situation in Indian is the initial stage of industrialization but the govt.with low efficiency、poor infrastructure、business law are critical problem that frustrating the global investment ,and also india is lacking of unique worker,most worker are also low efficiency. Most educated people absolutely don't expect to be a worker in factory, so the poor people do the job but lack of skill as they used to be a farmer , so it spend time and money to transmit the skill ,unlike the situation in china, they already built up vast qualified worker in different sector in china industry through these years,if they open a factory in china, it is much more easy to hire a worker in labor market. So, the cost of starting up a business in India is actually higher than that of china. To sum up, it is challenging to india industrialization, as they lost the best time(1980,1990s) to do so, it is much harder than ever.

After 8 years China’s economy grew 93% to 17.96 trillions, while India grew 69% to 3.38 trillion in 2022 according to world bank. The gap between the two countries increased from 7.3 trillion to 14.58 trillion, almost doubled.

Chinese economy is at 9.3 trillion while India is 2 trillion, no country in history has grown as fast as China has. The US were growing at 4 - 4.5% during the early 2000s when it was a 9 trillion economy, this compared to China's 7.5%. For the last 3 decades before 2010, China grew at an average of 10%. So for India to overtake China in real growth numbers, it needs to double its economy every 2-3 years just to keep up.

The inconsistency of India's development will destroy the economy. for example, "democracy", which is the proud for this largest population country. however, for many countries, especially for 3rd world country, democracy is not a good national policy for revolution unless the country has solved or has better policies or solutions to erase its internal conflicts. Also, democracy can work well when its citizens gains much knowledge of the meaning behind democracy or have enough education background to understand the outside world. If democracy implemented too early, domestic conflicts will rise since, for instance, labor union strike for nonequivalent treat, or for better living, that is not a good thing to boost the productivity for each worker, that will threat the investment from other country, then increase the unemployment rate. I agree that everybody should have human rights, but for the development of the country, democracy is just like poison. Look at the democratic countries in the world, we are able to see the inefficiency of law pass, and construction. For those developed countries, they must experience a period of time without human rights. Believe or not, if India want to pass China, first, improving education for poor people. second, developing own industries, e.g. Don't always buy weapons from other countries, try to develop owns. third, improving productivity per worker ( need support from education) Last, need a visionary leader. No matter what, it is hard for a country to keep developing forever, if Indian government can understand the new international order, they should cooperate with China, because America is far from Asia, also, U.S wants to keep U.S dollar strong, it won't let Asia united as a rope. India has its own beautiful culture, and I think nobody wants to be controlled or colonized by other countries.

Yong wu, I live in US and the view from here is: China is autocratic, a boiling cauldron that shows only its pretty face to the world but hides all its scars. China is a repressive state where citizens live under the boot strap of the Army. China has illegal possession of Tibet which is going to rise against state repression after Dalai Lama is gone. Chinese economy is already slowing and India's GDP growth is 7% plus this quarter. So, chill out and watch the future. If you are in China, get the hell out of there before the sh!t hits the fan. When that happens, some Chinese would smartly have moved out, some would duck and avoid the sh!t if they are lucky but most would have the stuff smeared on their faces and come out smelling bad.

Sridhar Kaushik You are totally biased about China. I agree that I am also biased about India, because we are very pissed off by your Indian people always say that we are going to surpass China, and we Indian people will become super power! Also, you country interfere with our country's internal issue, think about that, why you and your government thinks China illegally possessed Tibet? You know the map, right? 50 years ago, the independent of Mongolia was under Soviet Union's pressure, how come we still have to surrender when we have that power to keep the land? Remember, Tibet has become china's land since Qing Dynasty, which is 250 years ago, they were willing to become the part of China since 1950's. Do I have to tell you more? Anyways, I pointed out some problems in India, your various races will become a big issue, your strict naming hierarchy system(whatever it called) will lead a big poverty gap in your society. No matter what Chinese did, the Chinese government always point out a very good blue print for its people, and also for all Asians. AIIB is a good example, and your government is the first few countries to ask to join in. We want peace, but, you have to be clear of who you are, and your real enemy is! We laughed at you is not because of you are really bad, but your society is sick, a sick country likely to compete with another country which is 5 times stronger than itself.

yong wu I'm not an Indian but it will be the BRIC nations which will bring a lot of change to the current unipolar world. Next, only three nations will 'clearly' emerge as the largest economies by the end of this decade: The US, China and India. Japan and Germany will be pushed down. But we don't know yet who would be inching towards displacing the US as the #1 economy. This will happen for sure. If China and India unite, it's certain that many in the US and the EU will lose their pants! However, China's foreign policy towards India is driven by animosity and jealousy. No wonder why Chinese 'prepping' up a rogue nation like Pakistan to use it against India. That's one biggest and dumb mistake because it's India which counts for China in the long run. BTW, how many of you know that India and China used to enjoy 50%+ world GDP until 300 years ago? What changed? Colonization. There is one Harvard paper which studied in detail on this context. Having said, India should have move far ahead of China by now but their own Democracy failed them. I point at the lame late 70s Janata Party movement in India which drove away the foreign investments and companies. E.g., IBM, Coke et al. China was no where in the emerging picture until Deng Xiaoping carried reforms on larger scale in early 80s. Hence, Chinese must become friends with Indians. There is no benefit in going for another Cold War like situation between them. Some Chinese shouldn't delude that they can be sole Superpower. That will never happen because of the population (middle class), growth and large economies. IMO, only nationalists and short-sighted fools will ignore the power of India and China working together in the global competition. This will effectively put an end to the current Unipolar world, also vastly reduces the EU annoyance. I wish to see those nations literally buying out 4/5th UK assets, thus making it as the colony of both nations! Some poetic justice, isn't it?
