I have to admit most of my cd purchases in the last few years have been under the Frontiers label ie AOR including bands like Pride Of Lions, Harem Scarem, World Stage, W.E.T. I saw W.E.T in the HEAVY METAL section of a HMV shop under its own name so it wasn't placed in the Heavy Metal section by mistake by customers, what was that all about? The list of hidden AOR bands gems on the Frontiers label is unending and I agree with you,thank God for Frontiers Records.🎸🥁🎹🙏

Don playing a Rickenbacker, haven't seen that since the late 90's. You can definitely hear 38 Special and Survivor in this song. Barnes sounds amazing at this stage of his career. Love it!!

Great song, & Don is still a great vocalist. He hasn't lost his spark at ALL--still has one of the best voices in Rock imo!! He and Jim, along with the WS Band did an awesome job on this song. So good to hear a new collaboration between these two powerhouses! 😎

Love this song. Looks like it was made at the arcada theater in St. Charles Illinois. Have seen Don Barnes and 38 Special there 4 times now. I hope that he plays in 2024 at his 38 Special concert. Jim Peterik is an incredible talent and helped write a lot of the 38 Special hits. Nice collaboration.

I have just purchased the Album Roots And Shoots Vol 1 in HMV Belfast, Northern Ireland a few hours ago and I can't wait to hear it as the collaboration album World Stage(and any collaborations Jim Peterik has performed) is brilliant. Also his more recent AOR band,Pride Of Lions,is BRILLIANT. In my eyes Jim Peterik can do NO wrong!! God blessed AOR when Jim Peterik came along 🎸🎹🥁🙏

I'm embarrased,but after seeing this video I found out via the internet that Don Barnes(who?) is a Southern Rock(just heard about that Rock genre and I was sn 80 teenager) artist in a band called 38 Special? I love EVERYTHING that Jim Peterik is involved in. I loved this song from the very first note. Jim and Don are MORE than a 1,000 miles from MY home, I actually live in Northern Ireland. Survivor to Jim Peterik to Pride Lions to Don Barnes, its been quite a journey to get into new Rock genres and Rock artists. I can't believe that this is still happening to me and I am 51years old.!!!😅🎸🥁🎹

@@keithrodgers6634 AOR/Melodic Rock is my favourite Rock genre. Having said that I listened to a lot of Def Leppard in the 80s. Only got into AOR in the 90s but that's nearly 30 years ago. Where did the time go?

Great song! Hearing Don takes me right back to the greatness that was 'Strength In Numbers'. To this day an amazing fusion of Southern Rock and AOR. Jim looks like my late aunt with that do. Kinda scary if im being honest. 😆

Jim still knows how to write them. Sounds more .38 Special than Survivor, but either way is cool. (No offense to Donny Van Zant, Dave Bickler, Jimi Jamison, etc., but I wish Jim had been more willing to sing lead. I love his voice with The Ides of March. Oh, well.)

Yeah, I was disappointed by that, too. I loved "Winds of Change" and "Changed By Love". My favorite Jim Peterik/Don Barnes co-write is the song "To Miss Somebody" on the first World Stage album.

I have a question. Who are the guitarist in the orange glasses and the drummer? The reason I ask is are they members of 38 Special, another classic AOR band or just general musicians? Jim Peterik is the only musician/singer I had heard of before I watched this video.

Larry Millas is the guy sitting on the stool wearing the shades. He and Jim Peterik have known each other since the third grade. They formed the band that became the Ides of March together 60 years ago. Larry co-wrote this song (He has also co-written other songs with Peterik, like the Pride of Lions song "Unfinished Heart"). The other guy is a long-time drummer for Jim Peterik, I think his name is Ed Breckenfeld? Ed is the main drummer for the Pride of Lions and Jim Peterik's side projects like the World Stage albums.

I strongly suggest you check out his collaboration album Risk Everything,it's EXCELLENT but I can't remember who the singer was that he collaborated with on it( unless I go into my CD collection to find out.)😄🎸🎹🥁

@@adrianbradley8513 I do know who the singer is that you are talking about, Marc Scherer. Jim Peterik mentioned him in his book. He mentioned that Marc Scherer sang on the demos for the Pride of Lions album "Immortal". Marc also did another album with Peterik and guitarist Jennifer Batten called Scherer/Batten - "Battlezone". I don't know if they have that album in Ireland. But Jennifer Batten made multiple music videos for various songs from the album. So, you can at least hear the songs on RU-vid. Marc Scherer and Toby (from Pride of Lions) sang a song that was written/co-written by Jim Peterik and released back in 2022 called "All That's Mine to Give". That song is scheduled to be on Vol. 2 of the next World Stage album. The song that was sort of like the first "World Stage" song before the World Stage albums and concerts existed, was the Ides of March song "Spirit of Chicago". It features multiple guest vocalists, including Dennis DeYoung and Cathy Richardson who have sung on the first 3 World Stage albums (Both on the first one, Dennis on Winds of Change, and Cathy on Tigress). That song was recorded in 1992, before Jim Peterik left Survivor, so Frankie Sullivan is one of the guitarists on the song. There is a lyric music video for the song. I recommend at least watching the music video. I also enjoyed Jim Peterik's solo albums Above the Storm (2006) and Don't Fight the Feeling... and more (2003 - an expanded deluxe 40 song version of his 1976 solo album)

My Journey ( pun VERY much intended) is a funny one as I listened to bands like Def Leppard, Poison, Motley Crue and Bon Jovi when I was a teenager in the eighties but some how the term AOR was unknown to me then. EVERYBODY had heard of Survivor then but only for the song "Eye Of The Tiger" and not for an AOR(?) band. Heck I only found out about Jim Peterik and Jimi Jamieson (later)being in Survivor only a few years ago just before Jimmi Jamieson untimely death. I put it down to growing up in Northern Ireland. Ah well at least O now have the band Pride Of Lions YEAH!🥁🎹🎸
