A possible theory for why Ed was so aggitated this episode is that Ed has Sea Legs. He has spent almost all of his time at sea for years now, coupled with the fact he has a fucked up knee (see his knee brace) being on land and walking around all day is probably physically uncomfortable for him. Plus most of Ed's knowledge is sea-based, and considering he has been trying to impress Stede since they met, being on land is NOT where he wants to be because he has nothing to offer. It's not until he gets confirmation from Lucius that, yes Stede does in fact like him back, that he starts to relax and have fun. It's nice to see that insecurity in a character that is otherwise pretty damn confident the rest of the time. Also the scene where they discuss Blackbeard's bar and grill was completely ad-libbed by Rhys and Taika, something they're so good at from all the years they've worked together :D

I don't know whether you noticed this tiny detail but if you look closely Oluwande wears a teal earring on his left ear, that's why Jim said their favourite colour is teal.

Samson Kayo (Oluwande) is so funny and so underrated in this show. His line deliveries this episode had me rolling, "coming Nana!" 😂😂

The 7 sugars is a nod that Blackbeard/Ed loves very sweet things

This episode is a great one. But personally, the next one is my ultimate favorite.

I agree that Lucius is such a great companion, and he and Stede have such funny moments together. And Stede and Ed have ❤❤❤ chemistry, and they complement/supplement each other so well.
