It will be very interesting if they go for it..it would reveal a lot about how much power and influence organized athletes havein the sport

@@runsingletrack I think it would definitely change the sport as we know it. Something big needs to happen if we want the elite side of the sport to grow as the races/organizations currently have all of the power. How is it that elite runners are still having to qualify for and pay their entry into these races?! You merely have to look at what the Golden Trail Series is doing in sub ultra trail racing to see how messed up things are in the ultra distance races!

If they do go ahead with this idea, that could become his legacy. These athletes deserve so much more recognition.

Wow!!!! What a great interview!!! I think Jim's humble kind nature has already made him a wonderful legacy. Would be interested in what he ate/fueled with before/during/after and also when did he get married to Jess? What did she say that lifted his spirits during the race? Do they run together? Thus was such an interesting, in-depth interview. 🎉🎉🎉

Great interview. The cycling discussion was interesting. Lance Armstrong's formula was 3 hrs on bike equals 1 hour running. Lots of talk about hiking. I am curious his hiking pace. I am guessing in 11-12 min range.

He quantifies what steep hiking is to him at 18:30. He says a 1k meter vert 8 mile route in an hour and a half or an hour 45, that's 11min 15sec miles to 13min 7sec pace. Think very steep violent crab walking, or jumping up from rock to rock. You know, "hiking" 😂

I find him arrogant and condescending in this interview; I hope I'm wrong in the big picture. He called the host of this narrow minded at one point. In the grand scheme of things, Jim Walmsley should keep in mind that he is less famous that 99% of professional athletes. Maybe he's moved to France and developed that unwarranted European arrogance. Earlier I watched an interview with the Kilian Jornet. He was a class act and treated the interviewer with respect.

interesting..his interview style has definitely changed..I'm not sure there's as much benefit to openness for anyone at his level in the sport, so how can you blame him (I don't)..if he thinks I'm narrow-minded, so be it..I probably am, lol...anyways, I love Jim and every version of him in the sport so far
