Band of Gypsies, was Rhythm & Blues & Funk inspired, which also another one of my favorite pieces of wax...

My personal favorites are with Buddy Miles on drums. Many fans tend to side with, ( Jimi's manager), Mike Jeffrey, who seems to have despised Mr. Miles. Mitch called Buddy Miles, "The cement mixer". Buddy played hard. Hence, "Rainy Day", Still Raining, Still Dreaming"...from Electric Ladyland...

in 1985, I bought a picture disc-somehow it was enameled with imprinted photos-of an album called "Woke Up in the Morning and Found Myself Dead" of what was apparently jams from 'The Scene' club in NYC, with Hendrix, Jonny Winter, a few other notables, but including-hence the title-Jim Morrison shrieking lewd things through a mic at a certain point-something Hendrix likely wouldn't have wanted released, but anyway, it was a piece of history.

I remember a friend of mine had that boot in the early '80s. Jim was drunkenly rambling "F her in the A" over and over again...

Good review, I agree with your comments generally and I have Rainbow Bridge on CD now, I also like all those 70s releases, and I'm still enjoying the more recent releases too.

Yeah, if you look at the wiki page on Rainbow Bridge, it lists all the different CDs you need to recreate that album. I did that, and that's what I play when I want to hear that particular record.

@@lancewilson7038 Yes, I did that 20 years ago, but found it was available more recently, so I bought it. I had them all on vinyl but I prefer CDs now.

In The West is not mostly Berkeley. Red House is San Diego

Right, not mostly Berkely, but more songs from Berkely than any other venue. Two are from the Isle of Wight, and two others are from the Royal Albert Hall. Only one from San Diego.

yep, na, i hven't changed. some of the songs on side 2 are not up to par. Indeed, sides 3 & 4 are so perfect, for me, the greatest single album of all times.

sorry but Crash Landing & Midnight Lightning are not scraping the bottom of the barrel. For me, they are better than Cry Of Love
