@@jacobmassey3897Dude he is my favorite musician! Just dont like it when lies are spread, like he was always turing,,, that not true. And if you watch many filmed concerts like woodstock, mauii, atlanta, miami pop etc you can tell he realy enjoeyed playing live
Maaaan ! Mitch was such an amazing drummer ! He's always been in my top five as far as drummers. Sadly, I feel like he was way underrated, even though he is considered one of the greats.
Exactly how I feel about Alex Lifeson with Rush. Sometimes the greats are shadowed by their peers in the public eye. Mitch will always land in my top 5.
@@PMurray2694 listen to 2112 Overture and watch YYZ live in Brazil. Tell me again afterwards whose more lame. True musicianship or overproduced corporate radio power chord rock?
I recall Mitchs" obituary in Rolling Stone magazine ."what he was doing on drums was just as important as what Jimi was doing . The way he dragged the rhythm ."
Grateful to have met Mitch Mitchell once. It was at a festival in San Bernardino in the late 1980s. Talked with him for about a half hour. He was sitting in on drums for Sky Saxon as part of the latter's ever changing line up of the Seeds. Mitch was an avid record collector. We talked about his work with the Riot Squad, as well as some of the rare 45s he had in his collection. Nice guy.
Wow!!!!! I come from a family of drummers. of course I play myself. But my dad and myself always loved and respected Mitch. We r big Gene Krupa fans.. Buddy Rich for us is a bit much we like that Krupa . Joe Morello Mitchell approach... I was influenced heavily by Ringo Krupa my dad and Mitch... I like all the players but no one like those four. I hope you don't mind me saying you're very lucky to have met that man... God bless you for knowing talent
Bit late to the party.. however, is there anything else you could share about your conversation with Mitch? I'm a drummer myself, utterly infatuated by Mitch and his drumming, so any other little nuggets of conversation would be of great interest to me lmao
It's remarkable to me that Noel Redding wasn't a bass player originally. He was a guitar player who agreed to play bass with Hendrix. They're two very different instruments, yet he ended up being an integral part of one of the greatest rock trios of all time.
Jimi is definitely pushing the band and upping the tempo on this one. It's so awesome to see. He cracks a riff and they go for it. It looks like Jimi is almost bored and he just wants to get through the tracks in the set. Who knows? Epic fast fire
Мне 69. Есть несколько гитаристов, которых я обажаю и люблю. Но Джимми для меня единственный и неповторимый 27 - ний король, который покорил весь мир своей феноменальной игрою.
No dude, its because he knows the intonation will be way off when he starts to stretch strings. He already knew, and his tech probably didn't understand.
I played in a band, I play the drums or whatever...and this is the song we wrapped up the show with cause I always went berserk on the drums like Mitch Mitchel. Mind you, I am nowhere near his skill level but it was fun to play.
Been there, done that. Yeah.. it's a lot of fun explaining to the guitar player what Mitch Mitchell was all about. I did him right; damn the blowback. I bet you did, too! People don't understand the chemistry involved.
The Man was so real, it’s as if you can really see his distaste in repetition of something . Something that’s supposed to be momentarily appreciated. Re-creating magic for the curiosity of the culture. There is obviously way way way too much at one time for him. It’s a fucking shame
what’s even better is i don’t know if he could. he could not read music (the only musical fact we share 🙄) and saw colors as notes often using colors in his beautifully detailed poems i think jimi never thought lyrically. i knew at ten he was a pure soul and loved love. he was peaceful to all. that’s beautiful and i know it through the rides he generously takes us on. one’s that bring color to those days or months when nature stopped making colors without apology. *in one rainy wish he describes the color of his dream golden rose. i can see that color and it’s temporary it’s so hot. FF to today and how technology has us in a fricken mad rush all day accomplishing almost no substance (and most believe it benefits us?) so iphone years ago coincidentally comes out with same color ~ decade ago and called it Rose Gold. whaaat is that??? that’s an old hysterical jewish woman who occasionally smokes me up 🤷♀️
Wow talk about joy...it's totally MAGIG...what a FireJoy....Jimi Hendrix EleccctricccGuitarCccirkel one of our Favorites...One of Many....SuperNaturally Joy....WOW❤
But it wasn't late in his career this is like the first or second year if you are relating to it being his last year of his life when he was bored with playing the hits.noel I believe observed mr.jimis non professionalism at times criticizing him.exhibit A ,the above footage when he turns his back to the audience as he did here.i can see him being tired from extreme tour schedule& lifestyle. On another tip....I think he fkd around with knobs on the speakers as a ploy, because he was such a unique guitarist,it made it seem he was looking technically creating a wild vibe, when all he was doing was inching up the volume...or some meaningless shit. " I can't seem to get that otherworldly tone I usually draw on, oh well I guess I'll force my way threw this..ugh here goes, they'll probably like this".
mitch is my favourite drummer of all in a lazily cool performance by jimi but people don’t realise they were playing every night travelling and don’t even think about the after parties
Noel pissed him off here I'm telling you. Hes not following Jimi. He tried starting the verse to soon. It happens a few times during this entire show. U can tell Jimi was not feeling it
I usually hate covers of anything Jimi Hendrix did, but I really like this! I admire your dexterity and the fact that you can put feeling into it! You can really rock. Well done! Your hard work paid off and you’re really worth spending time listening to!
The entire band is as high as a human being can be while still standing on 2 feet. Watch every close up of the drummer and lead singer - high as kites. And that's not weed. They're trippin' or rollin'.
" That other people pick and choose for you" Pat Harley - a quote from- the film " a Film about Jimi Hendrix"- 1973.. Jimi was soo tired of playing the same ole same ole, talk about being burned out. a talent like his coupled with a genius mind, you cant put them in a 'box' and say now continue to be creative, the whole scene was royally getting on nerves and wore him out.
So sad that Jimi missed the advent of Arena Rock and Stadium Rock sound systems. I used to sit in these audiences and wonder why they sounded so bad next to the albums. At the time that Hendrix died in September of 1970 there were already mixing boards, JBL speakers and Crown amps. Jimi was working with Electro=Harmonics to develop new pedals. Also in New York Dimarzio was about a year away from marketing upgraded pickups for Stratocasters. I'd have loved to hear him in 1978 using the same sound systems that Van Halen and everyone else had access to.
Also if ya dig and enjoyed this video by Jimi jam on his guitar and amazing talent 😀 you may also enjoy the song " Most of All " By Glenn Kaiser and Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band Awesome songs check them out. Also I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on RU-vid. 😀
