It's probably how he learned to play . Generally lefties do not have access to " left handed " guitars , don't need the hassle of restringing etc. Likely didn't just one day say " I'm going to play this thing upside down " and started playing like that . If he did , I bet Jimi himself would tip his hat !
@@ByGraceThroughFaith777 yeah but jimi swapped the strings so they were the right way around for a left handed player, this dude has the low e on the bottom and high e on top so hes really playing a right handed guitar left handed
Check out jimi on acoustic version of hear my train or star spangled banner at woodstock he has the strings the right way round for a lefty ie low e at top. they arent upside down.
This dude LITERALLY plays his guitar upside down. Hendrix flipped his strings to play normal but this guy leaves the bass strings where the highs should be. That looks like a tough thing to do
Max Gemstone Hey I live in America where we have something called the 1st amendment. By the way anyone can post a comment on RU-vid in case you weren’t aware.
Everyone need to stop hating so much, this guy literally taught himself to play his guitar flipped thats impressive enough and i think he is doing an extremely good job impersonating Jimi
I saw Jimi several times in the '60s in SoCal. He was from another planet. There will never be another Jimi Hendrix. He was a gift from God to us. I'm sure he would have been flattered that his music was still being played, but if he had lived he would have moved far beyond Electric Ladyland.
Imagine the real Jimi Hendrix just casually walking by tripping on acid and looking at this guy like “ is that me over there...man the drugs are hitting a little harder than usual today I guess”
How is it fake? Hes actually playing that's how jimi Hendrix played he played with the guitar upside down this is real.thats how I know you really dont play guitar

@@emersondevine1791 no shit, I was saying a man dressed as jimi hendrix is also playing left handed on a right handed guitar like the real jimi hendrix. It makes him a more accurate impersonator.
I think Jimi Hendrix would love this… Keep the spirit going. This lefty just flips the guitar over like Albert King with the bass string on the bottom.
Leave the guy alone he’s enjoying it as much as us that’s giving him the thumbs up👍,we know and he knows he’s not jimi, just some guy who wants to keep jimi alive and carry on his legacy ....rock on brother keep going
So. Just so I’ve got this straight. This guy is an amazing Hendrix performer, playing left handed with right handed strings! That’s nuts! Full credit to him
It seems like God takes the legends away in November, first Jimi now Diego Maradona. Imagine them playing together up there in heaven. RIP to both legends.
@@tomasotreasaigh111 LOL well I was thinking more along the lines of Diego playing guitar with the hand of God and Jimi juggling the ball in his flares
Wake up, dead people don't talk/play to dead people, they can't they're dead, they have ceased to exist. The only place dead people go are to a hole in the ground, or their ashes to an urn.
Jimi would flip his guitar upside down, but he reversed the strings so it was like he was playing a regular lefty guitar. This guy didn't reverse the strings, and is actually playing an upside down guitar. Major props to that!
**Obviously they should choose a black actor to play Jimi, so I'm sure they'll choose Johnny Depp, and just apply a bunch of dark brown makeup to his face, and amazingly, our 'progressive', race baiting media WONT have a problem with it, just like when they used Johnny Depp, wearing 'Indian-face' makeup, to play Tonto in the Lone Ranger film. Yet, those same hypocrites are now trying to convince us how awfully racist it is to have white kids wear a Halloween costume that doesn't 'fit' their race, or for non whites to grow the "colonial" cauliflower in their gardens! But using Johnny Depp as a native American is A-OK, as long as their multinational parent corporation made money doing it!**
@@nfannig7847 but Jimi restrung the guitar so that it was strung normal . This dudes is literally playing a right handed guitar turned upside down. Without changing the strings around.
I wonder how difficult life is for such people to come up every day, sing and play with the same passion to earn some money. Appreciate what they do. Life is not the same for everyone.
He's literally playing one scale and the same riff while also playing really sloppy. If he was on clean, we would be able to hear how sloppy his playing really is. Distortion and effects help hide the players shortcomings.. Jimi went to music school and played in bands with people. This guy just plays dress up and plays jimi songs.
mark, booth. joey anderson is right, hendrix was forced to play right handed by his father, jimi didn't like playing that way and would flip the right handed guitar and play upside down, he of course would transition later but it was noted as late as 1967 in london that when jimi went into a music shop he would just "flip" a right handed guitar and play "brilliantly".
+poulentas It's not hard if that's the way you learned from the beginning. Albert King, Otis Rush, Doyle Bramhall lll and many others have played like this. It's just the way they picked it up. Most of them are left handers and they just flipped it over when they started playing guitar. It's unorthodox but not really that unusual. Jimi Hendrix did not play this way, either. He played right handed guitars but strung them in the traditional manner.
Right handed guitars to left hand position as he was a lefty. It's normal to be upside down but that happened with the Experience not before that as he was trying to develop/catch a different kind of sound/technique.
+Michael Zervas From what I know and have seen/read, Hendrix played right handed guitars because there were not many lefty guitars produced before the 60's. It was a matter of necessity. He always played lefty but strung the guitar the way it was meant to be strung. He was also somewhat ambidextrous, writing and throwing righty but playing lefty. That all just contributed to him being one of a kind. There are photos of him playing a custom made lefty Gibson Flying V. People have been turning guitars upside down and playing them both ways for a very, very long time. By the time Hendrix could afford real left handed guitars he was used to doing the flipped over right handed guitars. Many people feel there are certain advan- tages to this. If there are, he certainly picked up on it and used the dif- ferences in creating his unique style and sound.
@@twat9954 actually, he had to play right handed when his father was around, so he would practice left handed in his spare time with the strings upside down and play right hamded when his father was around. He, after leaving the house, learned to play the right way, but still played upside down sometimes.
@@robadobflob3405 no Jimi never did play that way Jimi always had the skinny strings toward the ground , this guy has them toward the sky so is better than Jimi
Why all the comments hating? I loved every second of this , anyone who has time to hate is definitely jealous or anxious to even play in front of a crowd. This man felt a high having this man record him. God bless him & I hope he sings his heart out throw his guitar !!!! JimI is VERY VERY proud !!! 😁❤️
@@republicofcasuals idk man alot of the hate for this awesome guy is coming from kids that think they are bad ass at guitar too. Think it just brings all the haters out.
@@aaronsanchezz Yea i feel you, where a older person can't look past anyone else copying Hendrix, a young person see's a dude playing guitar with no band and trying to play a song they may of heard once or twice... probably in a movie where there is a war scene lol.... i see someone that loves and appreciates everything Jimi Hendrix from head to toe! 😁
This guy is missing the boat! People are absolutely craving for a tribute band to, The Experience. Get off the street corner and go all out! Contact me; I'll invest.
This guy definitely has the look and style down. I remember a guy who used to busk in front of Yankee Stadium in the 90's. He didn't quite have the look but was an incredible player . .
JEALOUS because he was black and considered the greatest guitarist that ever lived after 50 years no one has come close to HENDRIX even the HELLS ANGELS WHO HATED BLACKS BUT LOVED HENDRIX THATS HOW GREAT HENDRIX WAS .
