This is my rendition of Wind Cries Mary by James Marshall Hendrix. I'm playing a FENDER STRATOCASTER along with a MARSHAL DSL40C . Far from perfect but worth a watch. Peace and love
John said something along the lines of "we find our own sound by trying to imitate our heroes but falling short of it" No doubt John is one of this guy's heroes. But, it's SO GOOD. His falling short is a whole new thing, why only one upload? Keep going dude, write originals. You're amazing!
After all jacks are in their boxes And the clowns have all gone to bed You can hear happiness staggering on down the street Footprints dressed in red And the wind whispers Mary A broom is drearily sweeping Up the broken pieces of yesterday's life Somewhere a queen is weeping Somewhere a king has no wife And the wind, it cries Mary The traffic lights they turn a blue tomorrow And shine their emptiness down on my bed The tiny island sags downstream 'Cause the life that they lived is dead And the wind screams Mary Will the wind ever remember? The names it has blown in the past And with its crutch, its old age and its wisdom It whispers "no, this will be the last" And the wind cries Mary
You gotta 💯 likes from me. Hendrix is no easy act to follow from anybody. Stevie Ray followed him. You can tell in his licks. I enjoyed the modern “pop” you inserted. Great Job!!!
I gotta say that Mayer's playing is flawless, it can get better, but Mayer's voice is kinda average. Like, covering this song would require to search something else for the singing. Just my opinion
