Always had time for David Bentley, seems a top guy. Probably didn't have the heart or desire to match his undoubted talent to fully make it to the top, and fell out of love with the game as he's stated in other interviews. i think we sometimes forget footballers are people too, and much like ourselves want different careers and want to explore other avenues. David seems happy, and in his case, i guess football was not the be all and end all for him in life, and good luck to him.

Happens to a lot of players when they are earning way too much, far too soon. Players tipped to be the next big thing like he was, sadly they don’t always live up to the hype. Had a decent enough career mind.

Realist he’s just been asked who his player’s player is, he’s said Bergkamp at arsenal and Bale at Spurs. He’s only saying they were the best at each club, it’s not a direct comparison.
