Even though the Miami Heat have shown no indication they want to trade Jimmy Butler, that hasn't stopped the Golden State Warriors from expressing some level of interest in the six-time All-Star. Butler is still capable of playing at an All-Star level when healthy. He averaged 20.8 points on 49.9 percent shooting, 5.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game in 60 starts last season. The Heat will probably want to see what they can get out of Butler playing with Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro and Jaime Jaquez Jr. early next season before making any drastic moves. If things don't get better from the eighth-place showing the Heat had last season, Riley might start exploring trade opportunities for Butler rather than potentially lose him for nothing as a free agent next summer.

As a S.F.-born Warrior fan, I'd enthusiastically welcome the addition of Jimmy Buckets to the family. Not every player is a Warrior. Just because you wear the uniform doesn't make you a Warrior. In my most honest opinion, Chris Paul has never been Warrior material, and, the chemistry was more of trying to force a fit, instead of fitting naturally. If anybody has the Warrior spirit, it is most definitely J. Butler.

Here's the thing, he's a great player. But he does not get along with his teammates and that causes issues. Then you have him not showing up consistently and big games also so it's kind of like he's great sometimes and then when you really need him he doesn't really seem to come through but he's always vocal and causes issues wherever he is.

The problem is the timeline with this team. The Heat have been quietly going young. Herro Bam Jovic Jaquez Ware Highsmith plus whoever they would get for Jimmy would be a great start. I think the Heat are going to invest more time into Jaimes development to replicate Jimmys production as much as he can. I can see the Warriors, Brooklyn, Rockets, Grizzlies or the Kings as options. Players like Keegan, Bane, Jabari, Kuminga & Wiggins can be options but idk what Brooklyn would trade.

I don't think Butler wanting to play with Simmons is necessarily as crazy as it sounds. Now, don't get it twisted, I'm not saying any of this is likely but I am saying this could be Jimmy's view. Butler has always seen himself as a leader and motivator. It's very possible that he believes he can motivate Simmons (someone he seemed to have a good relationship with) back onto the court and back towards the All-Star Simmons form. In Butler's eyes, if you take an All-Star Ben Simmons, Jimmy Butler, Cam Johnson, and add in a high-talent rookie next year...that's a pretty good looking team. Like I said, I don't see any of that as likely. But if it did happen that's a team that could go some places. It'd also be a team that was positioned to rise right when Boston's salary cap becomes untenable and the Celtics have to let go of some key pieces. And yes, Butler would be older...but so would Giannis and Embiid and if we figure those two age as well, who would be an obvious favorite over that Nets roster?

The thing a lot of people don't realize is that Pat Riley is probably one of the smartest human beings in the NBA right now. He's playing a game of chess five moves ahead of everybody else. There are things going on behind the scenes we're not privied to that will set the Heat up for long-term success, with or without Jimmy Butler. And yeah, I'd imagine Ben Simmons' agent is very happy with how Brooklyn has treated his entitled and coddled client.
