@@js0988 it's OK to like Rick. You don't have to be so defensive. Pretty sure there are many people more famous and relevant, even now, than Rick ever was. And you know that.
Well, if you can't be born with ADHD, you can acquire similar traits through a traumatic brain injury. I say that as someone born with ADHD. Whether Claudia really has it or not, her comedy persona is defined by hyperactive-impulsive and inattentive behavior.
Jim Carrey from Canada is the most famous ADHD comedian, but the UK is really strong in neurodivergent representation right now. Rhod Gilbert and Russel Howard have both been out as ADHDers for a while now, and Lee Mack came out as an ADHDer in the last year or so. As a US American with no representation of neurodiversity in comedy or general media, the content the UK provides gives me life.
@@roy_for_real2674 It's probably because the man heard the Dutch accent in English for a prolonged time. It happens more often with the general American accent. And it's not just English people in English. A lot of people tend to pronounce things differently in their own language, if they experience prolonged exposure to the different pronunciations.
@@tenetennba6529 It also helps non-native speakers understand him better, as there's still plenty of Dutch people who speak decent English but have a hard time with full conversations, especially with an accent. I think he has been speaking this way to his players, who might not all be Dutch as well, and it kind of stuck.
I will never not get confused between Claudia Winkleman and Davina McCall. I don't know why, but when I was little they just merged into one person, and that was that
Lol, I went to a friends place yesterday & her grandson opened the door singing “never gonna give you up” and then said “you’ve been Rick rolled” he’s 8. I started laughing and asked if he even knew who Rick was and he a said I’d “nope” and started to laughing too
I think Dara will do well. Victoria is intelligent in her areas of interest, which I know are poker and animals. She seems informed on politics and current events as well. Outside of those areas, she seems to be less certain of herself. Dara does unscripted audience interaction for a significant portion of his standup shows. He is more open to the unexpected and more of a risk-taker. In my opinion, from what I have observed. I am definitely more familiar with Dara's work than hers.
Dara's genuinely a smart guy and downplays his degree he got ages ago. He repeatedly mentions how he's pretty much forgotten it all in many of his shows but hey ho, ignoring that fact let's you have a little rant in the RU-vid comment sections so I see how you preferred to ignore it :):)
5:40 - They were correct in their answer, technically... because in the intent - in order to find the god particle you have to attempt to recreate the Big Bang on a smaller scale in order to hopefully cause it to occur in a simulation as it is presumed to occur in nature. So that wasn't the sought after end result, but it was intended as a necessary step toward the findings.
holy shit, this was the first time I ever got the Say What You See round!! and it's not just because technically I've seen this before years ago, I don't remember that for shit lol Usually I can't stand them because I literally never can come anywhere even close
I love how she said "here's a quote" not "here's a joke" wording is so sneeky and way more offensive than the joke, which was the topic "things the Queen would NEVER say" not things the Queen would say because it's true 😅
When I studied abroad in China, there was this person that just absolutely annoyed me, because whenever he talked to Chinese people, he would do a crappy Chinese accent and using bad grammar.... When I asked why the hell he was doing that, he just said, "It helps them understand me better..." and I was like, "No, you look like a massive racist.... You're from Kansas--talk like it!" LOL!
It does help though, as they hear it said as they would. Sounds super racist, but it is just a means of making conversation easier if one of the people speaks very little English. I had a conversation with Spanish speakers about movies and translated titles, they couldn't think of the English title for Limite Vertical, which is Vertical Limit. Not everything is obvious if you don't understand the language well.
I’ll partly second that with a word of caution. Firstly, talking an accent wouldn’t help because now the words/sounds are muddled. But simplifying sentences to core elements does make it easier to understand. (“Go shopping?” Is easier to understand than “Did you go grocery shopping today?”) However, in tourist-y areas and in many business areas, people are taught English and likely understand it so they may get a tad more annoyed if you try to dumb it down. I’d say try speaking in “normal” English first then if they seem to not fully understand you, then try simplifying the sentence.
@@Yvolve His version wasn't super helpful... It was more like, "Oooooh, you rikeyyyyy? You rikey rong tiiiiime?" when he shares food with them. As in, literally mimicking stereotypes with a crappy accent and bad grammar.... The Chinese people were speaking better English than he was.... LOL!
@@Taricus O wow, that's really bad! I was meaning more of a general local accent in which English is spoken, not those stereotypes. Must've been embarrassing as hell to go out with him.
The accent thing. It wasn't until my son told me, I tend to do that without realising. "Yeah great accent dad", "what you talking about son?". Then he did an impersonation of what I'd said. I was talking to a guy with broken English asking for directions.
@@RikuVA This was in 2008. The timing was edited and uploaded specifically for this purpose, which could not be less funny or coincidental. It is, however, no less incorrect, provided ghosts do in fact exist and have the ability to inhabit specific human organs.
@@Gowerrr I'm not sure which I love more, the careful disassembly of the how and why of this clip's appearance, or the qualifier as to the potential accuracy of Boyle's joke. Genius on both counts.
