After a small technical issue just before the gate drop, Jimmy had to play catch up against a field of 250s. The crowd in Quebec was in for a treat as Jimmy put in some hot laps to try and reach the front of the pack, Enjoy :)
As a teen I saw Ricky Carmichael lap the field twice back in the day. This reminds me of that ride. Way to ride that overgrown chainsaw engine. I remember when motorcross was all 2 stroke. Now 4 strokes have made it so much more expensive to go racing. It used to be a more accessible sport to get started in.
If Johnny O'Mara had a GoPro, this is what it would have looked like. But, "O'Show" also dropped the best 500cc racers on his wide open 125cc Honda. Still, Jimmy Decotis sprints nonstop in an epic ride here.
He sat at the gate for what? 30 seconds a minute and by the 5 or 6 th corner you see guys he already catching , and then pulling on 250f s!! alot them guys, you can tell they know how to ride. Dude on 250 ass on the rear fender with the thing wide to the stopper going to break throttle cable, I'm yelling at the TV get him Jimmy F ing get him and he walks right by🤯👍
this guy. With the Stewart comment! What are you trying to say or prove? James Stewart did amazing things on a bike one of the best hands down. That said we are talking about Jimmy and trying to build up a guy still competing. a guy who struggled with lime disease when he should or could have been at his physical peak in life if not for lime. When was last time James threw a leg over a bike? can he even put a helmet on his head. If James and Jimmy were to on 125 right now my money would be on Jimmy D for 4 sure. How long ago did James last ride a 125 so no most watching this have never seen James ride a 125 most watching this have not seen james ride a 125 So again whats the point of the comment about James? Trying to take something away from what Jimmy did in this video. Or are you just so much of a James fan boy, if he said blow me, you'd say with or with out my Dentures, Sir
I didn’t think that double could be done on a 125. Pros on factory 250fs case the shit out of it all the time. My heart rate maxed every lap you hit that. ANIMAL
This is the first I have seen Jimmy since he was diagnosed with his illness and had to step away from racing. I have to say, WOW! Talk about a come back! What talent! Great job, Jimmy!
@@MurrDog723NoNeYa-je4bp what does my dad has to do with this? By the way in the country I live in you cannot ride your dirt bike on the streets so I couldn’t anyway
@nicolarondelli9301 Because my dad use to let me push my dirt bike to the dirt and then said, "go wherever you want but as soon as you hit the pavement, push it." That was our deal, never broke the rule, always got to ride. If you run into obstacles in life, especially the REPETITIVE OBSTACLES society often throws at good young men, DON'T GIVE UP. Keep pushing. Never give up. Don't lie, cheat or steal in any way and NO MATTER WHAT, ALWAYS WEAR YOUR HELMET AND ALEAYS HAVE IN LACED.
That's crazy. He pushed that bikes limits for sure. AMAZING...wow Reminded me of my days racing against Eddy Warren in Michigan, Baja acres, red bud etc.he was fast like that to..Eddy raced his 80cc in the money motor against 125, 250 500s and lapped the field..Jimmy your sick MAN, WOW..
Wow, the speed through the sand section was insane plus with that secret line off the right ( nearly in the trees ) made for some epic passes. A couple close calls with other riders too.
Jimmy, my god man, you just KILLED! Your heat was reminiscent of a Ricky Carmichael or James Stewart come back after getting a bad start. I loved the head-to-head drag racing that you did in this heat and the crazy speed that you carried into the corners while daring other racers, "You got grapes, I got grapefruits, let's do this!" Insanely brilliant race! Congrats!
That's EXACTLY what I thought when watching this! He found better lines, kept the gas on longer, braked later, cleared the big stuff, it was as if I were watching Stewart or Carmichael back in the day. I began watching when just after Ricky Johnson retired; from McGrath and beyond, if anyone watched all these years and saw what we did, they're lucky people...
Decotis is forever linked too the Brapp of a 2 Stroke! Favorite rider for many years. An East Coast Beast. Nothing better than that in the World of "Knobbies".😊
Nothing beats the sound of someone ripping a 125, at least imo....and when he sent that big double, damn that was sick. Best moto vid I've seen in quite a while.
@@dc6233 y, same. Just a lot of unfortunate circumstances piled up. Then had a family. He did say recently we’d see him back on a bike again. It won’t be competitive but still cool to see him ride again
OOoooouuuhh my God, I watched it completely from the start to the finish. Thank you Jimmy for this performance!!!!! Since 1986 when the O`Show smoked all the 500 GP Hot Shoes in Maggiora at the MXoN on his tiddler I saw a ride like this. Absolutely amazing.... Two strokes rules the world! (And riders who can manage it ;-)
I dont even watch motocross but THIS is obviously huge talent, im a kart guy so dirt is like a foreign substance to me, but the way bro was slinging this bike its like it weighs a feather, and the speed going into corners and jumps is just alien, so hard to grasp how but this just turned me to fan
Holy crap.. deciding to tighten up the top clamp nut with vice grips after the gate drop looked staged, but the rest of it looked like he had that 125 running on nitro! He was cutting through the pack, like a pro sandbagging the C class at Wednesday night practice at Chicken Licks raceway! That was fun to watch!
HOLY EPIC RIDE!!! I'm watching how long he stays on the gas into the corners, brakes at the last second and exits rolling on that 2 stroke power, UNREAL!! If you listen you'll realize that Jimmy has some of the best brakes in the business, they grab so hard you can hear them in just about every corner; and they don't sound like they're fading either. That was in incredible ride...
What the fuck are you on about? You can hear his breaks because they are hot...... all bikes sound like this when ridden fast. Breaks get hot.... its what they do, They squeak...... its what they do. Get over yourself mr armchair racer.
So awesome to see the progress you’ve made, great to see you back on 2 wheels! I know it wasn’t easy but can’t imagine the hard work you had to put in. Much love and respect from Brockton MA!
Bro you made me a believer! I’m 58 and was a so cal pro from 82. Words cannot bring justice to your skills on that ripper!💪🏼💰💰🤙🏽. Straight up that is a RC / Bubba Rip through the pack. I pray that your life works more miracles. Felt all the aggression, close calls, and sheer satisfaction of ripping the bajerbes out of that track.
Dude knows his track and how to push the 125 to its limits! fkn sick ride bro thanks....havnt been riding in yrs and I miss the 2 smoke smell... I still get whiffs from time to time 😂
That was awesome! It's like his soul left his body at the gate drop and he was trying to catch up to it. Picking his lines and making his bike go as hard and fast as possible at all cost.
Lyme aint hold our boy back NO WAY no how, Doin it for his pops and Jones Bros Ridas, this was a treat. I watched him grow up racing since had double stacked pegs on a yz85 supermini
They may not have tightened important parts but they sure tuned that motor great. That thing rips for a 125. Even more so when someone as talented and Jimmy is on it.
I know almost nothing about motocross, but this was amazing to watch. Really makes you realise how powerful the 2 strokes are, when even a 125cc is this fast.
