The album is unbelievable. The song 555 was something I needed to hear literally the moment I heard it. Very dark moment and it was eerie just how much it fit the moment I heard it. Instantly one of my favorite songs ever
@@dearlyband7715 the music was perfect, but what really did it for me was the lyrics and the message; it completely sold me. They usually have at least 1 song per album I needed to hear the moment I heard it for the first time. Growing up dealing with bullies, being too shy to talk to my crushes, and simply just processing emotions, Jim Adkins always seems to have the right words I needed to hear. Even in my 30s now, they still find the right words I needed to heat hahaha
@@dariozampa4041 absolutely one of those bands that's stayed with me for at least 20 years. Don't trip, I'm also needing to hear these things in my 30's 😝 plus, it's not like they're really writing music for one particular audience.
Holy shit I was just listening to 'Congratulations' on my walk last night and thinking it had an AFI sound to it. haha I love this entire album. It came out on my 30th birthday and they released Futures the day after my 15th birthday and remember being so excited to go to the mall to buy it with my birthday money.
"I'm not sure if I'm making any kind of sense..." As with a lot of stuff on "Surviving", that is a feeling that I know very well :D Absolutly in love with the new record right now.
Many great tracks...but so far I have Survival, Delivery, and 555 on repeat. Such great songs to join all the rest of the classics. The only album I have ever not loved by Jimmy Eat World is Damage. Couldn't get into that one at all...but this latest record is a keeper!
Totally random aside...I'm wondering if "Stop" from their Invented album was written/recorded around the same time as the Stay on my side EP? It has that vibe for me and would have fit in perfectly on that EP.
I am sorry but Jim has monotone soothing and relaxing voice when he speaks not a bad thing. He is cute too kindle a nerdy cute...I said what I said they aren’t intended to be insulting
