wee jinky was before my time, but ive heard the stories and saw clips of him on dvd to know the man was a genius, as a celtic man as i am we had a genius in wee jinky, the rangers had davie cooper, both great players no doubt and sadly missed.

There was so much more to Jimmy's game than 'tanner ba'' dribbling. In his last season at CP, I saw him play in the old inside-right position in a 5-0 win v Hibs. He scored twice and was the game's best player, showing fantastic intelligence, linking, energy and finishing.
Kinda ironic when you think about it really. The Spanish (with the exception of Real Madrid) were nothing more than glorified hatchet men during these days. Especially Athletico Madrid and even Barca. Meanwhile It was Celtic that the world was looking to when mouth watering football was discussed. Changed days indeed!

@billy0 90 No bigotry or hatred here, Baxter undoubtedly was a great player and there's no argument with that. You're right that they were both different players .Johnstone was an outstanding winger and nobody comes close. I've watched Davy Cooper at his best and he was good but not in Johnstones league.
