"Mr President, do you remember when the country rallied around you in the hopes of a better tomorrow...? That was hilarious, that was your best one yet."
Jimmy Kimmel's performance at the 2012 White House Correspondents' Dinner was hilarious, edgy, and at times uncomfortable, but that's what makes it memorable. Kimmel took shots at politicians, celebrities, and even the press, proving he was unafraid to push boundaries. One of the highlights of Kimmel's set was his riff on the Secret Service scandal that had just unfolded, where agents had been caught with prostitutes in Colombia. Kimmel quipped, "I do have a lot of jokes about the Secret Service. I told them for $800 I wouldn't tell any, but they only offered $30." Kimmel also took aim at Newt Gingrich, joking, "Newt Gingrich's campaign is so dead, Mitt Romney wants to baptize it and Rick Santorum wants to put it in a jar and show it to his kids." He also poked fun at President Obama, saying, "You remember when the country rallied around you in hopes of a better tomorrow? That was hilarious." Kimmel's jokes were a hit with the audience, and even the President himself seemed to be enjoying the comedian's performance. Kimmel's humor was edgy, but he never crossed the line into offensiveness. He was able to poke fun at the powerful without being mean-spirited, which is a testament to his skill as a comedian. Overall, Jimmy Kimmel's performance at the 2012 White House Correspondents' Dinner was a comedic triumph. His jokes were smart, witty, and well-delivered, and he proved once again why he is one of the funniest comedians working today.
Who woulda believed this democracy will become a dictatorship in a mere 6 months, trump is a traitor and the imbeciles will put him in and end the republic
I recently watched Stephen Colbert host this in 2006, when George Bush Jr was the president, and it was amazing. Maybe these dinners should have two comedians with opposing political ideologies perform and roast everyone. I actually can't believe that Stephen Colbert was the host that year
@@anuragprasad2891 I say a lot of stuff haha. You will need to be more specific. Unless I'm joking though everything i say I can actually cite my sources to you like in college.i can tell you where I read things, where I watched something, who said what and my perspective on the issue.
As a Canadian, I can just watch and understand only a majority of the jokes, not all of them, but it really seemed like it took shots at everyone. I liked that, it's good for him to be at an event like that and be hard or easy on all sides equally. Did anyone else feel that way?
Hey Mr. President, remember when the country rallied around you in hopes of a better tomorrow ?... that was hilarious. OMG My stomach hurt on that one lmaoooo
Try that in Turkey and in the second minute or so, you guarantee spending the rest of your life in prison. As a bonus, the following day, media will call you a traitor and somehow a member of an armed terrorist organization, and at least half of the population starts to believe that you deserved it. Do you know what the worst and the most disappointing part of this is story? The Erdogan regime is the direct result of U.S.'s 'Greater Middle East Initiative'.
TSSlavikut- There's been a Boston Marathon every year. It's a well known race. That's why he referred to that marathon. It has nothing to do with the bombing..
And now you can't say anything about anyone at anytime. Where's Deam Martin, Don Rickles, and the whole team when we need them? We need them now more than ever.
White House Correspondent's Dinner? WTF. Cost's more than my car, my yearly income, my tuition lost on a degree that I can't use, and my inherited house's mortgage combined.
notice how the camera doesn't show Obama at all during Kimmel's consecutive jokes regarding the secret service...we wouldn't want our president to be seen worldwide smirking at that, would we?
