Alternate Ending: (At night in the Neutron family living room Jimmy is with his parents and Goddard, and apologizes to his dad) Jimmy: So you see Dad, that’s why I cheated. But I’m sorry for ever doing it. Hugh: Well Jimbo, to tell you the truth: I was never any good at competitive sports. To be honest I really do this every year because I want to spend time with you. Jimmy: I have a better idea on how we can do that Dad. Hugh: How? Jimmy: Next year, I’ll do the Parent-Child Picnic Games with Mom, and the next day me and you can have a father-son day to celebrate how well I did. We could go to the movies, play catch, visit Retroland, anything. Hugh: That’s a great idea son. We’ll do it. (Jimmy and Hugh hug while Judy smiles. After Jimmy is done hugging his dad, he walks to his mom.) Jimmy: So Mom, will you be my partner for next year’s games? Judy: Alright Jimmy. I’ll do the Parent-Child Picnic Games with you next year. Jimmy: Yes! We’ll beat Cindy for sure next year! Judy: Hold it young man. There is one condition. Jimmy: Ok, what is it? Judy: I agree with what your father says about sportsmanship, so if I do the games with you next year, I want you to promise me you will behave like a good sport. Jimmy: Oh, okay Mom. I promise no cheating next year, I’ve learned my lesson. Judy: That’s not only what I mean. It means no gloating at all whether we are winning or not. Jimmy: What?! But Mom, Cindy gloats about winning every year. Judy: I think she has been punished for that enough this year. Hugh: Your Mother’s got a point son. Being disqualified, and stripped of last year’s and the year before that’s trophy, it can’t get more embarrassing than that. Jimmy: But… Judy: No "But"s. This is the deal or we will not be competing in the games next year. Goddard record Jimmy promising to be a good sport and not gloat to anyone, especially Cindy, next year. (Goddard begins recording and Jimmy sees his mother is serious about what she said) Jimmy: (reluctantly) I promise to act like a good sport and not gloat to anyone, especially Cindy, if we are winning the Parent-Child Picnic Games. Judy: Very Good Jimmy. Now go walk Goddard. Jimmy: Ok, Mom. Come on boy. (Jimmy and Goddard head out the door. Then Hugh sits on the couch with Judy) Hugh: (laughs) You know Sugar Booger the more I see Jimmy and Cindy getting competitive with each other, the more I can tell those two kids are secretly in love. Judy: I know Hugh. Isn’t young love so adorable? (The two laugh) The end
I wonder how Cindy's aunt Susie pulled off what she did. Did she beat up Cindy's real mom and hide her in a closet? And where on earth did she get a costume of Cindy's mom from?
I'm actually glad Jimmy told everyone that Cindy's mom (who was actually Cindy's Aunt Susie) was an imposter because it served Cindy right for being a jerk to Jimmy
