Jimmy Page playing air guitar to Link Wray's "Rumble" and Muddy Waters's "I Can't Be Satisfied" Song at the end: "Ten Years Gone" from the masterpiece: Physical Graffiti
THIS SCENE CRACKS ME UP BECAUSE YOU HAVE ONE OF THE GREATEST GUITARISTS/ SONG WRITERS IN ROCK HISTORY ACTING LIKE A KID WHO HAS JUST HEARD THIS BASIC SONG FOR THE FORST TIME. JUST GOES TO SHOW ITS ALL ABOUT HOW THE MUSIC MAKES YOU FEEL NOT HOW MANY ARPEGGIO SWEEPS YOU CAN CRAM INTO A SONG.
Man. I find myself getting emotional watching this. He's SO happy to be listening to Link Wray. It's like you see the kid Jimmy Page shining through the old man, and I love it. I totally get it. I feel that way about "Rumble" myself, AND Zeppelin's music. AND U2's music. They were my jams in those formative teenage years when you dream of being a rockstar. And to see Jimmy getting such joy from that record is beautiful.
***** I believe you should try checking some alternative news reports. Trump is not ideal but by far better than the establishment. Vote for him is a vote against war with Russia which is currently being stirred up big time (based on lies).
That's my aunts father her name is Beth Wray Webb I grew up watching Link and my Father playing music together in my livingroom this was awesome to see cause jimmy page is one my fav.. guitar players..
I always get this nostalgic, sad and tragic feel of loss and longing for days gone by at the end of the scene. When Jimmy walks towards his old Victorian mansion and he tells the audience about the fearful end of his creativety as a musician.. while those first riffs of 10 years gone cut through you...
Well, at one point Elton John bought a sound engineer’s entire record collection to add to Elton’s own. It consisted of every single ever released in the U.K. from 1954 (or 1955, I forget which) to 1975. Now that’s a LOT of records! And Elton was a manic record collector since he was a kid
What I loved about this film is that it is right in Jimmy's wheelhouse. We don't get to hear enough from this man on what he has to offer, in terms of his multi-faceted talents and experience. A studious session musician, a-list producer, and bonafide guitar god all in one package. He's seen and done it all.
I love this clip too. The man who has inspired probably millions of air guitar sessions is seen here playing air guitar himself. I love to see the love of music that Jimmy still has.
For me, the best scene is when Jimmy straps on his guitar and starts playing Whole Lotta Love - the looks on the faces of The Edge and Jack White are priceless as they witness JP playing that riff that they probably - like myself - listened to over and over again, trying to work out how to play it until it becomes part of the soundtrack of your life...and now JP is standing there playing it right in front of them...the dream becomes real.
Jack white and Jimmy page are 2 musician's who really get it! You could really tell throughout the whole film that Jack and Jimmy were on the same wave length the whole time. They REALLY should have picked someone else for their third choice
You heard it before. At the beginning of 'Black Country Woman'. He's the one that says "naw leave it, yeah", when the engineer says something about "trying to get this airplane out". ;) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pYcQeAnUmNA.html
Mr Page I have seeing you so many times,( but you never sow me) I see you now so quietly surrounded by your shelve with so many treasures 33 rpm tanks for posting
Look at How they Concentrate on Everything Jimmy Page is saying. ( as I would - too ). It's like having Bruce Lee teach you Martial Arts or John Coltrane teach you to play the Sax. A True Master is speaking, and deserves my full attention.
Sorry man. Page is a great but play in 1970. The Edge plays rock in 2020. And U2 is the best rock band since 1980 until now. No comparison. U2 is the best Rock Band hall of the time.
2:48 very powerful for me to see Jimmy's house, he's had such a life. Such a successful guy. if you have all that , you sure don't want to die too young
For him he might just be casually "normal".. But its this great legend, Jimmy Page!!! I think it really impresses on us that he is so genuinely "down to earth" or something because we don't think that he has got to be that. And that's just remarkable!
I always imagine Jimmy Page sitting at his couch playing ramndom things with his guitar and suddenly coming with a riff that's better than most of the modern ones and saying "damn, it would have been great for a Led Zep song"
I made you read this. Damn that's so true. I bet it happens all the time. He probably has so much material put away that has never been released and no one will ever see. Wish I could see that!
Now THAT is a lot of records. Siriux XM Radio should get in contact with Page to host a show. Just him playing records from his collection and talking about music and playing his guitars. His guitar shed must be amazing.
No, i imagine he would have been playing with Mles Davis more to a funk / jazz / rock or a more elaborated and arranged music , if you listen to rainbow bridge / cry of love that was the direction.........
lol I'd be ecstatic if he stomped his foot to my song let alone play air guitar to it. lol I've passed out high playing air guitar to Zeppelin many times.
Kinda funny how he surpassed any and every other guitar tab written with LZ but still has the appreciation of rock that influenced him... I guess it just seems funny to me
I didn't realize until seeing this video that Jimmy Page is not only one of the greatest guitar players of all time - he is also one of the greatest AIR guitar players ever!!
They were trying to represent different generations. Gilmour is my all-time favorite and I would have loved to see him interact with Page on film, but it didn’t suit the concept here.
Cause I think they were trying to show how different styles of guitarrists interact, not saying that Gilmour has the same style as Page, but bringing a player that has a "pop rock" approach like The Edge with Page and White could produce some intresting stuff. But Gilmour would have been nice too
when Page appeared on Jimmy Fallon show last year the band played this for his walk on music, and Page turned round and did air guitar the same way w a big grin on his face. it's on RU-vid
Vintage Music, Action Figures, and More the Master was once a disciple, i love how he still appreciates the music that inspired him still with child-like enthusiasm. That Link Wray tune is still one of the baddest songs on the planet.
Fantastic to see such a hero, laughing and playing air guitar like a child, like if he would have listened to this song for the first time... He has the passion! He shows his feelings... Fantastic also how he accepte aging without trying to keep his hair dark! Much Respect for Jimmy Page...
I would love to spend a day with him, even an hour. Geez, I would be his cleaning woman. I would have to tell my husband "I'll be gone for a few mos." I want tea w Jimmy b 4 I die.
