So??? Jimmy would have gotten what he deserved. No need to feel "uncomfortable." Jimmy mislabeling Ru should've gotten his job taken away. Periodt. Even though i am not a fan of him, i like how he responded to the internet's reaction and admitted he was a little scared. That being said, i find it disheartening how in current culture, there was a legitimate possibility that Fallon would have had a 10 year long career ruined because he misworded a sentence.

The fear that ran through his body is so terrifying to watch. Even more so when the clip is treated as humorous in the vein of a sort of “haha yeah we’d all feel that way in my situation huh.” How tf have we so severely normalized icy cold terror for the simplest of mistakes. Like it’s okay (nay, cheeky) that this guy should’ve worried about his career ending over this.

Not true, he actually got in trouble in school according to an interview he did on a podcast, for "being too happy". And from what I've heard he's just a genuinely nice person, it's not an act. Also he's shown real negative emotion over a few celebrities that died like Robin Williams, and when his mom died, and the Orlando shooting, all of which I recommend, they show his more serious side.

Anusha K today’s “cancel culture” is extremely toxic yet popular. If a comment can come off as homophobic or racist or anything of that sort it could ruin someone’s career/life/social status because everyone starts to hate that person and stops engaging w them. So he would lose fans and viewers, make less money, get less sponsorships, lose contact with big celebrities, etc.

The comments claiming that cancel culture doesn't exist is quite ridiculous. It eventually boils down to whether these "cancellations" have a long lasting impact. Which is irrelevant because what's being argued is that the mere idea of having an angry mob of people demanding that you get fired and humiliated is terrible enough on its own, regardless of how long it lasts. Although in many cases it does have long lasting effects especially when it comes to Harvard applications and simple jobs for the people who aren't celebrities yet still face backlash in a modern day Salem witch trial.

See Jimmy seems to me the kinda dude that could never get canceled; he's always super respectful, doesn't get into controversial stuff, and just wants to have fun and talk with people. If anyone even DARED to cancel him I think the entire internet would rally behind him in support, and that makes me glad.
