This dude put up almost 300 yards and 3 touchdowns against the freakin' 2000 Baltimore Ravens, *IN* Baltimore. Yeah, against *THAT* defense. Just to give folks an idea of how freakin' bad ass and elite he really was. Nearly 12,000 yards in a 10 year span from 1996-2005. Definitely deserves to be in the HOF, even though virtually nobody outside of Jacksonville remembers him.

Why doesn’t anyone mention he didn’t become a starter until the age of 26? He gave everybody a 3 year start and still retired 9th all time.

Oh by the way...Jimmy Smith missed 3 entire years on football with an injury. At 30 years old, he led the league with 116 catches. At 31 years old, he had 91 catches 32 years old he had 112 catches He had 1,000 yards receiving at 36 years old. He was 195 yards shy of having 10 STRAIGHT 1000 seasons. Made the Pro Bowl 1997,1998,1999,2000,2001 In 1999 he averaged 102 yards PER GAME
