Snooker legend Jimmy 'The Whirlwind' White, surprised and celebrated in an episode of 'This Is Your Life'... Presented by Michael Aspel... Aired March 10th 1993.
Snooker stars to pay tribute are Alex 'Hurricane' Higgins, Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry, John Virgo, Terry Griffiths, Willie Thorne & Tony Meo...
Other stars to appear, are comedian Bobby Davro, and, via pre-recorded messages, Rolling Stones rocker, Ronnie Wood & Boxer, Nigel Benn.
In addition to the family audience. The guest audience includes such names as John Pulman, Joe Johnson, Alan Stockton, Tony Knowles, Steve James, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Tony Drago & Barry Hearn.
A nice precursor to the Jimmy White commentary, during the BetFred 'World Snooker Championship 2017', from the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield England.

It's so weird watching this in 2019. Like the thought of having our lives even on Facebook is a dangerous thought these days and these guys were having a lot of their lives plastered all over the show and quite happily by the looks of it. I liked all the mavericks in snooker but as I matured, learnt to appreciate Hendry and Davis with the latter having so much personality but just looked like a robot in his pomp. Higgins who I liked in the day was apparently a bit of a c*** even to some of his fans.

Ray Gaskell True, when you pump yourself with hard drugs such as alcohol and cocaine whilst playing snooker at a professional level it can cloud your judgement, and even though it may of helped him stay in his element at the time it did not help him in the long run

Read his autobiography, it’s hilarious especially the chapters with Alex, usually either pissed or coked up for most of his career. Favourite player ever, he admits himself that he could have won the world title if he had got his nut down but he was too interested in birds, booze and drugs. Legend 💪🏻

I was only just talking to my ex girlfriend about this yesterday and Ive just woke up it's 1.30 am it's in my recomendation's have that lol and I was also talking to my mate Gary about Jimmy White and Alex Higgin's yesterday aswell, so this will be watched now. What a lovely guy Jimmy White is, and Jimmy's dad God Rest his Soul what a great Father what he said about his Son Jimmy White lovely xxx tell you what everyone was'nt this program on when the Earthly World was a much nicer place to live what a shame some 17 odd year's later it's in the state it is.
