Legends collide in 1999 when Jimmy 'The Whirlwind' White and Efren 'Bata' Reyes meet in the last 32 of the World Pool Championship in Cardiff, Wales. #9Ball #9BallPool #WorldPoolChampionship #EfrenReyes #JimmyWhite
I just graduated college @ 99 and I remember me, dad and uncle awake @ 3am just to watch this magnificent matchup. Now i have 3 kids still revisiting this. Definitely the best lineup. This world pool 99 is like the dream team!
No better age, no better time to be alive. People won't understand but the generations we saw before us, the times we live in and the future we believed in! It was like all human history in less than twenty years. Then it all got used up and we've left out descendants nothing but shit..
One of the greatest matches in pool. Jimmy's 5-9 combination was phenomenal. Efren reye's bankshot on the 2 and thin cut on 3 was was like a magician doing surgery procedure. This is clash of the legends. Sad that one of them has to lose.🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
@@elibo0n What, the "fluke" that Steve Davis called in advance during the commentary? And not only does Jimmy walk to the end of the table to pick out the line of the cue ball from off the cushion, but no sooner does he hit it then he is turning his head to see if he gets the full ball contact on the orange five ball that he needs.
@@mustaphamimoune1837 Yes, or some other big name pool player get an invite to a snooker tournament. I'm also surprised that no snooker tournaments have been taken to the American countries.
@@millysworld6150 I think it’s a first but the 2022 World Games are taking place in Birmingham Alabama this year and they’re gonna have snooker matches.
@@1747carling by saying "flukes are rare" You are admitting that flukes happen 😂 and It logically follows that the 5 - 9 combo could have been a fluke.
So glad I found this video. I absolutely love Efren and now Jimmy White is right there with him. This match has been one of the best if not the best I have watched. I know it's an old match-up but so much talent there. Mad respect for these legends
That 5-9 is why we all love jimmy. What a shot, he has the nerve, the vision, the balls, AND the skill to pull that off. I still remember watching the snooker world championships at my granmas house when I was about 5 and saying I like him without even knowing why she said ‘everyone does’. Jimmy is truly the peoples champ. Go on the whirlwind 🌪
Karna anda hanya melihat vidio bidikan jimmy, coba anda lihat vidio bidikan efren reyes yang lain, anda pasti akan bilang efren reyes adalah manusia yang dilahirkan untuk billiard...
It is but there was just an element of luck on that shot. You should watch Efren Reyes shots on hid other matches more often, as he intentionally even points out the direction of his shots.
If this title run doesn't prove Efren is the greatest pool player of all time, I don't know what does. The 5-9 plant by Jimmy White is on my top ten list of most spectacular pool shots in history too. What a match!
What everyone fails to realize is that Jimmy white was a part time pool player and for all the legend that effren was he should never have been hill Hill with Jimmy. Had Jimmy won the final frame as I think he should have effren should have hung his head in shame. Jimmy played with a snooker cue as well.
05:35 Mind how Jimmy was setting the combo for the left corner pocket and magically he potted it at the right corner, that was a super fluke that became a super shot for free.
Totally agree. As a snooker player, you would never play the right corner, always the left. You can see how he is aiming actually, and how he turns his back and walks away after 😂
Jimmy is one of my favourite snooker players of all time but I love his fanboy attitude with snooker and that indomitable spirit and he's a class act. That pool shot is one of the best and I think someone tried to re-create it and did it kinda but took over 50 times. I don't know whether Jimmy played it, as I would love to believe he did, so what do others think? I don't think he just smashed and hoped as it just didn't appear that way. Thanks a lot for the footage. :)
I think it was a fluke. He did line it up though and I guess he hoped for the best by get it with speed. Nevertheless it was a great shot and it came at the exact right time. In the end it didn’t matter.
@@ugaugauga488 that said jimmy had alot of TO in the late rounds but still manage to snuck a very good combination followed by Efren banking 2 these two are phenomenal
Is Michaela Tabb the referee? She looked beautiful as allways. Since she was pool player, I love to see her. About the match, it was incredible. Thanks for sharing.
..rewatch the Jimmy 9 ball combination and you’ll see he was setting up for pocketing in the lower LEFT pocket but miss hit so badly that it went lower RIGHT..LOL
The 2 Magicians, the 2 players that have inspired me the most. Jimmy has never been world snooker champion but he is still the most entertaining player, same as Efren to watch. Nice to see how Jimmy was on a completely different level in pool than Steve Davis or Ronnie O Sullivan. Still the snooker player who gave the GOAT his hardest time I think
Back here again. It's not as much the match as it is listening to Sid. It's like when i revisor old F1 races, i don't care much about the result, but listening to Murray Walker is brill😊 It's so important to have good commentators when watching sport IMO
Efren is the only aisan that went head to head with all the best pool/billiard legend players of the world, and whoever played againsts efren consider yourself lucky.
from amazing shot to another amazing but the win belongs to efren reyes....a round of applause for they two legends .....give credits to jimmy white ....he give efren a though match
Bullshit... Efren has played his fair share of Snooker and even beaten ROS during an Exhibition matxh in Thailand in the mid 1990's and Efren had stated that his best run on a Snooker table is 136. Efren has also played a little English Billiards and is a very skilled Carom Billiards player too.
@@WillieDines1 I can almost guarantee that Reyes has never made a 136 break, there is one video out there of him playing snooker....and he is truly dreadful! And that's fine, it doesn't diminish his achievements in pool! But let's not pretend that he was or is a 'capable' snooker player, he is NOT! This is just wishful thinking by uninformed pool fanboys. If he had been any good he would have come to the UK and schooled himself sufficiently to enter the pro tour. And he would have done this for two reasons, 1/ to prove his claims of snooker aptitude, and 2/ to make money, because in comparison to snooker, pool is a financial paupers game. Sorry, but it's that simple!
@@truthsayerq7264 ask Efren yourself because he stated himself that his best run in snooker is 136 and you don't know as much about Efren as you think because he has also played English Billiards as well as Snooker, 3Cushion and Pool. I don't give a shit if you believe it or not, but I will be more inclined to take Efren's word for it... And I have met Efren a couple of times and played an exhibition match with him too.
As amazing as that 5-9 combination by Jimmy was, and boy was it amazing, Efren's response in the last rack was truly impressive. Those 2 shots he took were scary as hell and impossible to get for almost anyone else. When he's pushed, he seems to focus more and delivers. Great performance by both. Efren wins using skill, not the break pony other have.
Everytime you see a pool match video uploaded with efren inside, you know he always wins that match lol the matches that efren loses are taken down from youtube so quickly haha
JW is firstly a snooker player, but has the balls to try play the greatest pool player. For a bit of balance it would be interesting to see the pair play a snooker game. But without a doubt two exceptional players however Reyes is the pool King.
