I don’t know, but I fear that this decision from Suzuki is global. Why wouldn’t it be? I think that the EV idea is flawed. The production of an EV pollutes 70 times more than the ICE does during its lifetime. On top of that, when the EV has reached its end of life there is no available technology to recycle its battery. There’s nothing wrong with the Otto engine. Its problem is the fuel used. Develop better fuels and the emission issue will be solved. One better fuel is hydrogen. So says Toyota. Another is ammonia. So says Wärstilää, the ship and engine manufacturer from Finland. EV’s are a hoax and a grand mistake. If you have a Jimny, hold on to it, give it your best care & service, and let your children inherit it when that day comes. That’s what I’m going to do with mine.
EVs have their place but the way that policy has been implemented and adopted in the UK has been more about furnishing the richest in society with free money through subsidies (especially through work deals) than it has been an earnest attempt to change the market. Just another layer of corruption in our declining country.
I rushed to buy one this weekend. I did over pay a little bit, was meant to sell my mini before I bought it but seeing this news on the facebook groups I called around and pulled a few favours to cover the cost! Can't wait till Thursday when I go and pick it up!
Very sad, but I'm well used to importing from Japan, so hopefully we'll be able to continue for a while yet. No shortage of JDM stuff on our roads already.
Thankyou Suzuik say the Japane car importers. It coukd be like the early 90s with the shoguns/pajeros. Just hope they can be had with the 1,500cc 4 cylinder "big block" rather than the 660cc 3 cylinder kei engines
Hi there, do you import the cars from Japan to the UK? I was thinking of doing the same, I’ve seen that websites such as satjapan offer this service, but I would like to know what are the implications of it (I’m assuming adding 20% vat, transportation costs (how much are these?), and maybe issues with insurance/MOT?), could you please help me? Cheers!
Meanwhile other dealers are struggling financially since producing EVs makes no sense surely Suzuki must know this , well you would think . Like the evolution of cassette films and music some things just seem good but don’t work don’t last
It's unbelieveable, suzuki ALREADY got the engine K15C, wich is the mild hybrid version of the jimny's K15B, and also got the concept X-LANDER wich is a jimny with a ICE as normal, but also a electric engine to act as hybrid mounted at the transfer case, and they're going to throw it all out the window..... Bye bye to my dream of owning a red 5 door here in spain😢 I hate european politicians so much, how are we gonna save the world all alone? What are the firefighters and police forces to work at the mountains? Toyota prius? And that's another story, if you stop bringing the car to europe, just let toyota sell it, for god's sake!!!!
It is sad that woke agenda coupled with geopolitics has thrusted EVs down the consumers throats. I bought 5 door Red Jimny with bluish black roof, last month here in India.
@@ravibasera1 how It goes? I already own a 1999 1.9 turbodiesel Suzuki samurai long (i think in India you call It maruti gipsy) and the Jimny was to retire the samurai
@@salvador_mano4x4 Sorry for responding very late to your query. Actually I had had a minor accident where my Jimny hit a wall and its left front tyre bursted, panhard rod bended, ESP was showing error and my steering was veering towards the one side from centre which was towards right, the opposite side of the impact, and I experienced "death wobble" in the car when I left accident site on stepny tyre without knowing that the panhard rod had bended by the impact. Due to some festival period, vehichle parts got delayed and I got my vehichle back late. But, now the vehichle is running fine and I am enjoying the trails around Himalayan state of Uttarakhand where I live. Only concern is mileage in city traffic which I could only get around 8-9 ltrs per km, and I am using Jimny for both for my daily drive as well as offroad tourer.
That's terrible news. I've got a brand new one in my garage. It's been there since last September and all I've done to it is put OEM extras on it to keep me occupied in the winter. No one will want it now.
That is sad, will you have the option to legally import it from another country? Even if you did, what about spare part will they be available in UK and EU? I live in Middle East, and there is no news of Jimmy’s discontinuation
The Suzuki Jimny was the best and most affordable small 4x4 They should sell the 3-door 4-seater and the 5-door HYBRID & a plugin hybrid in Europe. It's not just about emissions and mpg, it's also about product life & sustainability of the product = fewer model changes, and part upgrades. This is shameful by #Suzuki #Jimny
@@DanielWelsh1997 what you looking to buy? Uk spec or you ok with jap? You should be able to get one from Japan… if you need help let me know mine has just landed
What is this? Is it true that they will kill this wonderful little car? I have one here in India and honestly there is nothing quite like it. It is a real little go anywhere gem of a vehicle. Well, at least it will remain being sold here in some countries like India and Australia and South Africa and Japan itself of course. At least in the latter three it is a successful and popular little thing.
@@bigjimny The hybrid 5 door version was allready testing in Europe in 2022.. So I don't know why you think it won't come here.. The BEV version is only coming in 5 years. High demand for a hybrid jimny 5 door in Europe
