Jin - The Astronaut Reaction 

6:22 ... I like the unintentional or intentional nod & homage to Close Encounters of the Third Kind here with the road to the horizon. Imho, the flying saucer is like a symbol for Jin's military enlistment. He needs to go, but the sentiment is to rather stay & be around for ARMY (the girl). We hope that nothing bad happens during the time of service for Jin & the rest of the band. We live in uncertain times, with Russia & Putin tinkering with the brink of a world war & nuclear weapons within the next few years, beginning with their excursion onto Ukraine (which began in 2014). We don't know if any special agreements have been made, if any, but by BTS going & completing their service in a normal manner, there should be no excuses for haters, critics, government & military to mock, belittle & chastise BTS not doing service & then calling them cowards. During & after service, they should then be able to handle real guns, have worn actual bulletproof vests & be in a real army, all the initial themes that made them the Bulletproof Boyscouts a decade ago. But now they can then be upgraded to Bulletproof Boysoldiers.

Isn’t it great to be capable of enjoying BTS songs as a group AND each ones, pretty talented, solo songs in this era. How fortunate we are. Love them.

He reassures us that his time away will be ok (the outer space scene is beautiful). 2 cars pass by - the 2 years he'll be gone. His blank expression as the girl shows him how to human, changing to a smile when he understands he has a family to return to.

I feel like when he wrote family at the end and he looked right into the camera at us, he was calling us all family. And the bell represents that the girl (ARMY) and Jin were both waiting for each other. When he's letting go of the girl on the bike (she has a purple helmet and purple bike so she's ARMY, he telling us that he knows and is proud of us that we can go on without him. He holds his hands up...fighting!! Also the scene with the sprinkler, he's saying that ARMY has made him feel new experiences. I also feel that the spaceship represents his acting career, which after he found ARMY he decided not to go back to his intended path (acting) -he wanted to stay with ARMY!💜

Here what I notice in this MV : - He has "ARMY" tattoo in his neck, written in braille -In the beginning, there s no tree near Ufo. But in the end there s some trees. The time for a tree to grow is around 10 years. Next year, BTS & ARMY will be 10 y.o -The little girl wearing purple helmet. -There is a drawing in that wall, a boy wearing grey suit. Jin has a photo when he was a kid, wearing a grey suit. Almost same suit that he wears in this video

I love the story telling in the video but I also love the live of Jin joining Cold Play on stage in Argentina.

But you missed this. Chris Martin was the newscaster. The guitar he gave to Jin was in the chair. All of BTS are in the video. I will let you go look for them. Trivia. The director of photography was in the Astronaut suit. The director's daughter drew the pics that Jin looked at on the wall. Jin has a tattoo on his neck. It matches the message in the crossword puzzle. Jin picked out the words he wanted in the crossword. I was puzzled why there were empty boxes. The letters didn't match the boxes. Well, aliens don't know how to do crosswords! Duh! The meaning of the truck? Seen it before?

There are sooo many details in this MV that mostly only armys will be able to notice/understand and here are a few that really stands out. I hope it helps you guys understand why it is such an emotional one for the fandom. - There are many other BTS MVs where they used a small girl to represent the fandom so the girl here represents the fandom, ARMY. - She's wearing a purple helmet in a later shot(purple is the official colour of the fandom) It was black first because purple was never a special colour to the fandom until after a few years of their debut when Taehyung gave it a meaning. So it kind of signifies and captures a small detail of the timeline of BTS and ARMY, in a sense. - They chose a girl who is around 9-10 years old because it's the same as ARMYS age; the fandom was formed around 10 years back. -If you look closely there is a braille tattoo on his neck and it reads "ARMY" 🥺 - The suit Jin wears at the beginning of the MV resembles the one he wore to the first day of school in real life (there is a photo of 4-year-old him wearing a suit that looks exactly like that) The kid's drawing on the wall shows him wearing the same suit once again. It's basically to show his past and innocence, reminiscence of his lyrics from "Yet to come": "Somewhere deep inside your heart, there still lives a young boy" - Chris Martin makes a cameo in the MV as the news reporter reading the news - The blackened-out spaces on the crossword (in braille) reads "For ARMY" - The guitar you see in his room is the same guitar Chris Martin signed and gifted Jin when they met. - If you notice when he was on the street people ignored him but the "astronaut" caught his attention. Jin was cast on the streets randomly by a Bighit staff who saw him get off the bus. He never intended to be a kpop-idol and never auditioned. So the astronaut here could represent the company itself who found him literally on the street one day. - The shot of his room has elements that represent all BTS members - Books = Namjoon, Guitar = Yoongi, Instant camera = Jhope, Flowerpot (like his "serendipity" bubble) = Jimin, Vinyl player/Boston bag= Taehyung, Speaker/Radio = Jungkook) They're all there, close to him. - The pickup truck has a lot of meaning because it has appeared in many of their past MV that's connected to the BU ( Love Yourself Highlight reels, the HYYH era) In those MVs, it was Jin who used to drive the boys around in a black pick up truck ; it symbolises the time they cherished together and their memories. In this case, it was a pick up truck (reminiscence of the ones in their MV) that finally stopped and took him "home" In a way, Jin was like a lost astronaut that happened to crash land on earth which was unfamiliar to him just like how he ended up as a part of BTS without ever dreaming for such a path. It was unfamiliar and he was unsure about it (that was the reason why he had a stoic expression most of the time) until he met the little girl (army) who cherished him and to whom he taught things only to realise later how they both made each other happy. He realised home was where his "family" is ; his family comprising of his 6 brothers and ARMYs. Towards the end, Jin looks hopeful and eager as he hears the sound of the bicycle bell which indicates that the little girl(army) is waiting right outside (fun fact: the first option for the fandom name they had was "bells" and they later changed it to ARMY) ; that when he returns back from the military, army will be waiting for him. These are just a few but there are soo many other details. I hope you react to his LIVE performance too (You must listen to the speech Chris Martin gave before the actual performance. It's emotional but beautiful all at the same time 💜)

It’s an exciting time. They just announced last night that RM’s solo album will be released on November 25th, and I still haven’t finished processing Jin’s new release. And now a whole new album! Are we going to get new music every month until they all enlist? And also, they must all be so preoccupied preparing to enter the military, and yet they are still so good to us. Why are we so lucky? It’s no wonder that we love them.

the kid's drawing (on the wall) of jin wearing a plaid clothes is the same clothes he is wearing at the very first scene of this mv where the plane crashed.

a movie company needs to pick up this song for a indie film or a big cinema film. it sounds like a sweet ending track to a beautiful rom-com. 😭 The Astronaut Live with coldplay is great, there’s a video on youtube that includes the speech chris martin on how jin reached out to him for the track

Chris Martin didn't just do a cameo although you probably missed him as the newscaster. But vocally he sings the backup vocals throughout the song. There are tons of Easter eggs in this. Everything in his bedroom is an Easter egg. The black spaces on the crossword puzzle and the little tattoo on his neck are Braille for "for ARMY". The little girl represents ARMY and he's being protective of her and sending her off without him for a little while. It is inferred to the lyrics that he was adrift not knowing his purpose in life until he became part of BTS and found ARMY. There is a video called things you missed in The Astronaut. It points out most of the Easter eggs. If you notice in the city scenes almost every shot of him has a stop sign in it. Make of that what you will.

Well other K pop artists do short songs because they're not officially a single of that K pop artist there a solo of the artist as part of the group's album content. 6 BTS are not doing any group albums and only solo albums and solo projects these are not group songs. But release of the solo artist song. in lieu of doing an album like he was supposed to do. his solo album next year but he has to go into the military in December, so he rearranged his schedule and did the collaboration with Coldplay each member of BTS is enlisting in the military after they release their solo projects. the rest have enough time to actually release albums. This is Jimmy's goodbye to the army fans.
