As a male metalhead I really appreciate the fact a female has come along and said 'hold my beer' then kicked all the boys asses vocally... not since Pantera has a metal band made such an impact. And the boys on the instruments... seriously next level. An amazing band full stop, more Jinjer please!

Crazy thing is, their first US tour was 42 shows in 60 days, mostly 3-5 days in a row and hardly ever more than a day off in between, and their more recent one was similar. They did 152 shows that year, all over the world while also recording and releasing the album this is from, called Macro. Next up, do anything on stage. Perennial live at Wacken is in between this and Pisces in intensity. Pit of Consciousness live in Kiev (Kyiv) is on the heavier side of their work and is one of their most impressive videos being a great song, with epic visuals thanks to upgraded stage production setup and just a perfect storm of Jinjer awesomeness. (They were on fire having had a bit of a break after returning in triumph from that aforementioned first US tour which was mostly sold out shows in intimate venues as befits an up-and-coming band. And kicking off a similarly mostly sold out European tour in their adopted hometown of Kyiv. Also Tatiana had just announced her relationship with now husband Alex Lopez of Suicide Silence after years of being single and lonely.) Speaking of hometowns, Home Back official video is about their original hometown in the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine getting caught up in the 2014 war that set the stage for the current invasion and is one of the most powerful anti-war songs and videos ever, speaking powerfully for the millions of ordinary people caught in the middle of every war.

And don`t forget "I Speak Astronomy", another rollercoaster! And, yeah, "Just another" or "Vortex" or... well, where to end??? By the way, do you know "Velja", another band from the Donbass? They are somehow in between Jinjer and Spiritbox and, well, oh so angry! And like Jinjer they damn have reason to be!

She has perfect control over her vocals and false cords. She doesn't damage her cords when she growls because she has complete control over it. This allows her to switch her vocals rapidly from cleans to gutterals and back again with no hiccups and can go on stage night after night and belt it out like she does. She's just naturally gifted with her voice and flexes her skills in the best way possible. With metal she can hit both extremes, highs and lows, and it fit perfectly with the tone of the song. She wouldn't be able to show off her range and skill in another genre. She's my favorite vocalist and Jinjer is my favorite band. Check out Scissors, Noah, On The Top, No Hoard of Value. Scissors and No Hoard of Value are from their earliest work, their 1st album together. It's cool to see how different they are from then to now. The sound has changed from a more hardcore sound to progressive with djent mixed in

Love the reaction! Tatiana does not damage her voice. On this video, go back and look at the tension in her neck and jaw when she's going to the false-fold broken vocal. There is no tension. Sure, she steps forward, centers her base from the core muscles up to the diaphragm, but what comes through the vocal cords does not strain her voice. As other commenters have said below - they do a lot of shows when they tour. I had the pleasure of seeing them twice, the last in Seattle, where I was literally at the stage (no rail, or area for camera people). When she went up onto the riser, her boots hit my chest, and when she banged her head, her hair literally hit me in the head (or my phone, while I was recording). I literally had to pick her hair out of my phone case when I got back to the hotel. She is a bit of a vocal unicorn - completely self-taught, with the ability to do almost any genre. Also - fun fact - one of her biggest influences is Amy Winehouse. You can definitely hear that in much of her clean vocal enunciation.
@bwestacado9643
@bwestacado9643 2 года назад
You can hear the Gwen Stefani influence in their earlier stuff too. Vocal unicorn is no joke lol, she's amazing and super talented. It baffles me when people don't like her or don't care to listen to them. It's crazy people can hear a once in a millennium talent and be totally disinterested. This is a band of prodigy's. When bands come together to form super groups, they get Jinjer. She's a unique talent in a band of unique talents. I've never in my life been moved emotionally by music until I heard Jinjer. This is what people felt when they discovered Mozart or the Beetles

@stevebillingsley3529
@stevebillingsley3529 2 года назад
@@KoonFox6560 Lol - I did think about that, but, I've seen them a couple times, and I would have a hard time explaining to my wife why I had Tatiana's hair in a little envelope. Actually talked to Tatiana 3 times besides being at the rail during the last show - lots of high fives and fist bumps - I mean I literally had to look almost straight up to see her singing, unless she was crouching on her riser, in which case she was singing while the tail end of the mic was hitting my nose. Literally. When they did "I Speak Astronomy", she literally screamed "tell me why are you so suspicious when you see black holes in my eyes" about 6 inches from my face. Which was epic. Star struck is definitely pretty normal (when I first met Simone Simons of Epica, I was star-struck, but the last few times I've seen her, we've had good interactions - the last time she even asked me how my daughter was doing). But, Jinjer is not a band to get star struck by - they are just regular people. Full stop. Roman seems to be painfully shy, but very nice and accommodating, Vlad is also quiet, but smiles and laughs when you talk to him. Tati and Eugene are both great - if you engage them person to person - ask how they're doing, what have they enjoyed doing while on tour (and asked Tatiana about how it was touring with her husband), they will chat with you, and seem to enjoy a typical human interaction - when people come up to them and are a bit too enthusiastic, it really seems to make them uncomfortable, like they're thinking "hey, I'm not that special - I'm just a person". So, short story - Jinjer is good people - they love their fans, and are still a bit awestruck by the fact that they've suddenly become so big. I am a fan for life - they are a generational band - I am 60 years old, and no other band has had as big an impact on me as them.

And since the vocal folds are not really involved in the screaming there is no real difference in sound between men and women...

In response to you wondering how she tours: So, there are different sorts of distorted vocals. Clean singing uses your regular vocal cords. There are two main types of "distortion": Fry, and false fold. Vocal fry, as well as fry screaming, actually uses the vocal cords. It is a technique that must be practiced carefully because as it does use your primary cords, it can damage them if you do not properly know how to utilize breath control as well as restriction on the cords. False fold screaming does not use the vocal cords at all, it uses what's anatomically known as the vestibular folds on the sides of the cords. Imagine that "UGGHHH" noise your average teenager makes when you ask them to do a chore, and that is the areas of the throat being used to create these screams. Check out the Queen of Scream for more info, if you're curious! But this is how those of us that can do this without losing our voices or destroying them entirely. It's just another technique 😁

Tati's vocal ability comes from her previous as a Opera singer. She's mastered that first first then developed her vocal fry technique over many years of practise after that. Shes doing it in a safe way and protecting her vocal cords, she's well supported in her posture and the way she's holding herself. Its a very hard technique to master it takes many years of practise. The key is not pushing yourself until it hurts. Once you feel a tickle or you start to cough then you got it wrong. Rest your vocals and take care of them and try again

By that you mean this is unreal music? ;) It is perfectly fine to dislike this song. Music (or any other art form) is not universal, and everyone will find different features in a piece that resonate (or not) with him. Not understanding that (or pretending not to) just shows yourself as self-oriented and dismissive. Tati would say "narrow minded".
