Hi Inna! Thank you for your excellent reactions! Another convert to the Jinjer Army! I, like many others, am a “mature” musician who discovered Jinjer through seeing the Pisces video and being blown away. Like many, i have formed the new habit of seeking out Jinjer reaction videos. It’s great fun to watch the shock and awe turn to admiration, and soon infatuation and love lol. I was fortunate to get to see them live just weeks after discovering them late last year, and that sealed the deal. All four of them are amazing musicians, and together they’re a force to be reckoned with-they’re scarily tight. Their compositions are almost classically complex and layered. They bring multiple genres into play, circling around the core of progressive metal. You picked a great place to start with the reaction videos. You’re doing an excellent job, keep up the good work! We Jinjer fans are professional reactor-reactors lol. You’re off to a great start! If you care about the war in Ukraine (I think it’s the most important thing in the world, and Ukraine is the most important country right now) I would definitely suggest you try Jinjer’s song Home Back, which is about Pootin taking away their homes in Donetsk. They have been on the road touring and playing almost every night for twelve years. That is how her breath control became so strong. Practice, practice, practice. They came up in the concert clubs with another female fronted band. They toured eastern Europe together in the early days. The other band's name is Infected Rain.
They had to stop touring last Spring because no males of 18-60 years were allowed to leave the country, but then got permission to go couple of months later to work as cultural ambassadors of Ukraine to make world not forget it. I was thus lucky enough to see them at Tuska last Summer ❤.
I love all things Ukraine, especially Jinjer! Ukraine has shown the rest of the world how courageous, tough, resilient and ingenious they are, and what it means to fight for freedom and democracy. As an American i stand in full support of Ukraine. We will not stop until all Ukraine is returned to Ukraine, including Crimea and Donbas! Jinjer is a great example of the brilliance, passion and inventiveness of the Ukrainian people. Slava Ukraine! Slava Zelensky! Slava Jinjer!

Great reaction! Tatiana (Tati) writes most of the lyrics to the songs, and many are very personal to her, so she definitely puts her heart and soul into these songs. Can't wait for your next Jinjer reaction!

Hi Inna, nice reaction/review video. I've been a musician since I was a kid, but I was never into metal with the scream/growl harsh vocals until I discovered Jinjer near the end of 2021. I instantly fell in love with their music because of their interesting, sophisticated and varied songwriting, fantastic musicianship and the incredible vocals (and personality/stage presence) of Tatiana, with her ability to instantly transition back and forth from her beautiful clean singing voice to some of the best harsh vocals I've heard, female or male. Some other Jinjer songs I'd highly recommend checking out are...Wallflower (official video), which has a very cool groove that is different from all their other songs and the lyrics are about Tatiana being an introvert in the very public music industry; Judgement and Punishment (Tatiana's "live one take vocal performance" video), which seamlessly mixes reggae and metal; Teacher, Teacher (official video); Home Back (official video), which was written about the chronic fighting with Russian separatists in their homeland of the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine, but obviously has an even greater emotional meaning since Putin's all-out invasion. If you have any family/friends remaining in Ukraine, I hope they are healthy and doing well and that the illegal invaders are driven from your homeland soon! You’re like me bro. I like your name too! I’ve been playing bass professionally for 45 years. I was never a fan of harsh vocals (“Cookie Monster singing” I’ve always called it) but Tati is on a different level than all others, and the band is so great. After seeing them live they became my favorite current band. I saw Rush 36x live, and i learned so much from them. Jinjer is that level of good. I’m learning from them as if i was a kid all over again. How awesome is that! Rock on dude!
@@ericpeterson7512 Hey, Thanks for responding! It's nice to hear from another long time musician!. Good bass players...i.e. who have groove and timing and aren't converted guitarists playing guitar riffs...are few and far between, you should be gigging every weekend! 😆 Yeah, it was amazing how quickly I liked Jinjer and wanted to dive into their other songs. I love that they consciously blend elements of writing and playing from other genres of music into their songs, which is why they're so interesting and varied. You obviously also have to add in the vocal contribution of the ultimate metal goddess, Tatiana! I also discovered the metalcore band Spiritbox at about the same time as Jinjer and I really like their music because of the same reasons, great songwriting and playing and a fantastic female lead vocalist, Courtney LaPlante. I haven't gotten into any other metal bands with harsh vocals...yet. I heard good things about Arch Enemy, but I tried to listen to a live concert performance by them and I found their music simplistic, derivative and boring, plus the lead vocalist is not on the same level as Tatiana, IMO. (hopefully I don't offend any Arch Enemy fans). Sorry about the long diatribe and keep on rockin'!
@@RockDocNeal Yeah I'm with ya. I'm just starting to get into harsh vocals. Tati is a great gateway drug lol. The singer in my band has another band where he sings a lot of harsh vocals, and suddenly I'm liking that. I think a lot of it might be variation among harsh tones. From low gutteral growls to high screams, and the ability to change it up quickly. Also intelligibility; I have to be able to understand at least 30% of what they're saying lol. That eliminates about 90% of harsh vocalists right there. I need them to have excellent clean tone too. I guess that's asking a lot! Tati uses it perfectly to emphasize the lyrical content and mood. She sets a high bar. I've listened to those others, and I had much the same reaction as you. There's an excitement about Jinjer music that I don't get from others.
Everything about this woman is out of this world. And the crazy part is, off stage, she's the sweetest damned thing you've ever seen. lol What an incredible band. Do 'Teacher, Teacher' by them, next. :P
No bad Jinjer songs but as a Ukrainian you may particularly enjoy Homeback and Retrospection. All the songs recommended by others here are great too. 👏👏
I am not sure if it hits too close, but Jinjer song Home Back is a really powerful one. Jinjer is originally from the Donetsk region that has been occupied since 2014 and Home Back talks about that. If you want to hear other people who have both awesome clean singing voice and growls, Amorphis: the Bee or Arch Enemy: Handshake with Hell.

Let me tell You the reason why this song is my favorite one of this band! It's literally song about me or anyone that I know! Those 3 lines in particular: "No we're not dead. No You're not dead. Just enjoying coma."- when I think about them I think about any people who are enjoying coma of being drunk, intoxicated or enslaved in any other way. It's important to stop with any stuff that can slave people, before it's too late. Great reaction! 😃
@@InnaSoloMusic Right? 4 albums and several EPs of awesome music are ahead of you. And a new album coming out later this year. Lots of paths forward. I Speak Astronomy official definitely wouldn't be a mistake but it along with Perennial and Pisces are toward the lighter end of their work. Definitely check out Teacher Teacher official too. Their new stuff is epic with Wallflowers being my favorite album though I liked the stripped back production style on Micro and Macro better, every song on Wallflowers is just awesome - Vortex being a great example. On the other hand "baby Jinjer" from 2012 and 2014 was also awesome. A bit less sophisticated prog and more thrash/metalcore but they've always had a talent for doing awesome stuff with the skills they had - Scissors official, Exposed As A Liar (either official or the live version called "Crowd Factory DVD Trailer" which has some cute interview clips), or Outlander (the version uploaded by "Failure .Color" with live video+studio sound is most popular). For more concert stuff Sit Stay Roll Over live in Melbourne has Eugene's bass a bit low in the mix but Tati does more vocal tricks than in any other single performance. Who Is Gonna Be The One official live focuses mostly on growls but with some great cleans and the musical composition is sooo good, especially the dueling guitar and bass. On The Top live I'd suggest before Pit Of Consciousness from the same show - it has great belting and is an awesome song, and if POC didn't exist it would be a top tier video but POC overshadows it leaving OTT an underrated gem. If you are really into the growling, a cover of Lamb of God's song Laid to Rest from their early days is fun, the best sound being a bootleg uploaded by NosSam in 2012 - also it's charming because Tati's on stage persona isn't fully baked in yet which is cute - but the audio isn't perfect though surprisingly good for a bootleg so not necessarily ideal for a reaction. Another couple of covers are Alice In Chains' song Man In The Box with her husband's former band Suicide Silence, and Nirvana's Territorial Pissings with Eugene on bass and her husband Alex Lopez doing guitar and drums. Also if you search for "Vidcerts Tatiana Nirvana" youll find 22 minutes of Tati singing latin-infused Nirvana covers with a side project Latin band from the early days of Jinjer - probably not a reaction but I for one love it heh.
