I watched them live several months ago and all I can say they are AMAZING! She sings live almost like in studio and their energy is just incredible! Check out their song "I speak astronomy", it shows even more of her vocal range!

Al Bordem - I also really like his live version of What Are You Listening To?. I'm not really a country fan but I recognize amazing talent when I hear it. He sings and plays with so much soul that I sometimes forget it's country music.
It's not the air flow. She's in her false chords. Her vocal chords are smashed together and barely moving, which is why she can still do cleans. She maintains the same airflow throughout. She just has good muscle control. Girl's got talent.
Actually, it's the exact and complete opposite of maximizing airflow. Fry screams lock down air flow to the extremes to be able to actually vocalize singing with it. Growl and simple screaming do dump air through your throat as fast as you can, but doing that you can barely hold for a few seconds. What she does is fry screams which are done by closing the vocal cords almost completely and letting just enough air through to vibrate the false cords above the vocal cords. You need really good control of your vocal cords, false cords, lung capacity and an absolute crapton of power in your abdomen to be able to push air through while you're keeping your vocal cords shut.

Actually, there are two very different types of screaming/growling. What you described here, using large volumes of air, is false chord screaming. What Tatiana uses here is the other type, called fry screaming.

What about a electro-rock band that developed a unique musical style that mixes alternative rock, electronic music, world music, reggae, dub and folk? And they use masks while doing it. Curious? They're Blasted Mechanism and you realy should check them out, they're amazing.
