Great reaction and great attitude! So much amazing music out there that people never hear because they limit themselves to 'genres'. As for categorising 'metal', don't worry, even die-hard metalheads often argue about what box to put some bands in. Tatiana (and all the other 'growl' artists) use a vocal technique that employs 'false cords' rather than the vocal cords we use to speak/sing. It's the same principle Tibetan Monks use for throat singing/chanting. Tati just happens to be particularly adept at it and also has a great set of pipes for traditional singing too. As others have said, the band are awesome live. I got to see them a couple of years ago and it was one of the best gigs I've ever seen, and I'm a really old fart who's been to 100's over the years.

Perennial live at Wacken truly shows her range n switches. The crazy thing only the drummer is classically trained but in piano. Everyone else is self taught and they are f'n amazing. Saw them in October and they sound just as amazing in person. Tatiana's stage presence is ungodly

I agree. Pineapple on pizza is great. Jinjer is great. Some of the older Jinjer fans talks shit about their later albums, as they have become more progressive, but I like it. I recommend "Retrospection" or "Mediator". If you ever get used to growling, you should check out "Meshuggah - Pravus (Alive DVD) (HD)".

In an interview, she said that she was always told her screams sounded feminine, so she spent years practicing to make the screams sound more masculine and she killed it.

Tatiana is her name. They are from Ukraine. She is self taught and in my opinion one of the most talented vocalist in the world. When she writes her lyrics she writes them in her language and then translates them to English. They do not make any bad music and i have a whole list of songs i could recommend you to but ill just give you one for now. Perennial live at wacken , their live performances are more enjoyable to watch than their music videos and they sound just as good if not better

Lots of different metals styles out there. I am not really a fan of the "Cookie Monster" growling stuff. I prefer cleaner vocals. One of the best female singers (if not THE best) is Floor Jansen from Nightwish. Their performance of "Ghost Love Score" live at Wacken Open Air in 2013 is perhaps the best I have witnessed anywhere in my 55+ years on this rock. I think you'll find that metal fans are very patient with anyone who is open-minded enough to listen. There are/were many "metal virgins" reaction channels (The Charismatic Voice, Julia Nilon, Alex Hefner, Too Lit Mafia, Key of Geebs, etc.) on youtube and they all slowly come around and discover incredible diversity in sounds and musicianship, and the awesome thing is it makes their communities all the more happy for it. I really like your statement from 5:25 to 6:25! This is exactly the point. Trying to listen to other people's favourite music, being open and giving it an unbiased chance to let you understand what it is about and what the other people like about their music is the best way to tolerate each other - and in some cases the best way to find something new for yourself, something that appeals to a side you might not even have known existed within yourself. Also, I've experienced the metal community as one of the kindest, most peaceful and positive folks I've ever been with. I've been to Wacken Open Air here in Germany, experiencing most aggressive music with 80.000 people shouting, jumping, shoving each other - but as soon as someone falls down, there's immediately a protective circle of people helping the fallen up and asking if he/she is okay. In my view and experience, much of listening to this type of music is on the one hand about getting into the adrenaline rush we sometimes desire and on the other hand about having a way to experience or to work on emotions like anger and aggression without destructive behavior. I don't scream myself, instead I listen to music that screams. Furthermore, a lot of metal music is just great and the musicians of many great metal bands are ultra skilled and talented with their instruments. Tatiana is of course an overwhelming presence and experience to witness when you listen to Pisces for the first time. But if you listen to the song again, you'll notice how deeply impressively the other band members are mastering their instruments. The very first lyrics of my very first metal song I ever listened to were "This is a journey into sound." (Anthrax, sound of white noise), and boy were they right! I'm really happy for you to dare going on this very special journey with us. I love your reaction. I was introduced to Jijner music through this song couple months ago and even though I am kind of a metalhead (among other), I fell of my chair when I heard her growl. Such a powerful voice. Clean and growl. Yup.

My wife and I, have seen them in concert a few times, they are just as amazing live as they are in a studio. She sang through at least 10+ songs each time, like it was a cakewalk. False chords and her diaphragm is how she is able to do it, she has excellent technique.

I would recommend "Homeback" by Jinjer as a next song, its a more personal track from them about their journey living through the war between Ukraine/Russia and having to flee their hometown in Ukraine. Also if you want more metal music like Alex the Terrible from STP, I'd check out Alex Ramos from Lorna Shore, "Into The Hellfire" is a fucking awesome song of theirs to start on. Happy metaling >:)
