Tatiana has an amazing talent and she has worked hard to develop it into a world class talent. The rest of the band (Roman - guitars, Eugene - Bass, Vlad - Drums) has amazing talent and backs her well, making a great and appealing overall sound. Jinjer does however, thrive in live performances, so I would suggest listening to their song Perennial live at Whacken 2019 and see them on stage. All of them are Ukranian and fled the Donbass region for Kiev in 2014 when Russia first attacked and took control of the region for access to the Crimean peninsula. They are resilient people and have focused solely on their music through the hard times they were forced to endure. 🤘

Palladin Odessa I like you. You understand Jinjer and their story. I think they are awesome ambassadors of Ukraine, they demonstrate the amazing resilience and strength the world has seen this last year+ (well really since 2014, but Zelensky brought something out of the closet shall we say). The story of Jinjer is a little bit the story of Ukraine in microcosm. Jinjer will not quit! They are a juggernaut, especially when you see them live with your own eyes and ears. They’re so good they could even make a Russian have empathy for Ukraine! You can’t help but fall in love with them.

Got to see them live twice in person and got to meet them. They sound just as good live. Truly an absolutely amazing and talented band. I am so proud of them. Their quality of their concerts is by far the best ive experienced. Their audio team is really good too. Spoke to them and they take huge pride in their live performances and their live audio performances. Dude walks around with a tablet the entire show to make sure everyone in the crowd has good audio quality. Pretty good cool imo.

When I saw this song for the first time I fell imediately in love with this band. For me personally this song is about the misunderstood nature of fishes (Pisces literallly means fishes). Some of them are the bringers of life, while other run for their death. It's harsh, but sometimes You gotta run for food that might become your undoing. As for the next song by Jinjer I recommend Perrenial Live at Wacken like many other people here. 😉Great reaction! 😃

Great reaction! I'm glad you kinda stopped yourself before calling it "screamo", which is a word hardly anyone within the metal community uses (I think). Jinjer mostly plays progressive metal these days, though some their older songs were more fitting into the metalcore subcategory. If you're looking for a word for the harsh vocals, this kind of singing is called growling. Most people will probably recommend Perennial as a second Jinjer song which is what a lot of reactors do, but since you didn't seem fazed by the heavy parts, I'll suggest "Who Is Gonna Be the One" (live). Or if you want to do something unique, I'd recommend "When Two Empires Collide", an older song that hardly anyone has ever reacted to as far as I can see (I love this live version in particular: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KU6-9BQ2wXA.html).

Yes! I am not familiar with the genre so I was going to say something but then was like...hmm I am uneducated in this, so what I'm about to say is probably wrong! I did reach out to a friend who is much more familiar with the genre and he gave me a good timeline and pointers on all the subgenres. -I found this song after seeing a number of reaction videos do it but never watched them. I finally checked it out and was blown away. The duality of the two vocal styles definitely fit with the song’s title. No matter how many times I listen to it, I will NEVER not get emotional when it comes to the belt near the end. -This was the song that got me interested in them. However, I became a fan because of the official live of “Bad Water.” I listened to a number of other songs but couldn’t get into them. After “Bad Water”, I got who they are. Then, everything connected and I was hooked.

This is the beauty of this song. It's called Pisces, which is like two sides of a coin of the zodiac signs. Pisces is a fish, and it's like Yin & Yang. She has a beautiful tone singing in one half, and a hard, gritty tone in the other, like two sides of a coin. The lyrics have a double meaning referencing fish, and also being one way, then the other. Its really a genius song in terms of the music, lyrics, and even how they represented themselves in the video. 10/10.

These types of vocals are usually referred to as Gutturals or just simply Growls, but yeah, Jinjer is awesome.

Can I give you a bit of constructive criticism? When pausing, it would be wise to back up 5 seconds (just hit the left arrow) before resuming. Reactors usually pause when there's a lull, and there's ZERO problem with that, but with bands like Jinger and Nightwish, that can easily be immediately before something explosive happens. Pausing before that, even though it's completely unknown to you, can seriously break the rhythm of a build up to said explosion. Scooting back a bit every time you pause allows the build up to re-establish itself. You'll enjoy it more, and we'll enjoy it more. (Although we pretty much know what's coming! :) ) Great reactions. Keep em coming, and don't hesitate to really break down what you're enjoying. That's why we watch these reactions. If we wanted to just hear the song, uninterrupted, we'd go find the original videos!

“This is going to be the first video I post”. Nothing like easing your way into reaction videos with something easy. 😜 Jinjer are a great band with hugely talented artists. Tatiana has a beautiful clean voice and then can dive right into those amazing harsh vocals. When she was learning how to do the harsh vocals she said she didn’t want to sound like a girl doing harsh vocals, she wanted her sound to be more masculine and I think she pulls it off beautifully.

Great reaction! If you really want to know what's going on while growling, you should check out a video on the channel of Elizabeth from The Charismatic Voice called something like 'operation throat camera '. Scientists put a camera through Will Ramos (one of the best harsh vocalists) nose and down his throat to see what's going on while he's doing this growls, screams, etc. The video is very long, showing how Will and Elizabeth meet the day before, etc, but the actual science part is short enough for a reaction and I'd love to see yours! "I totally thought that was building to something." Perhaps. This would probably be closest to melodic death metal, though Jinjer's trademark is blurring genre, metal with jazz or reggae. The technical term for what Tatiana is doing is harsh vocals, but that covers a lot of ground. Done properly as she is, with her whole body and relaxed there's no danger to your voice. The guys, Vlad on drums, Eugene on bass, and Roman on guitar are virtuosos. Her early inspiration was pop, but Gwen Stefani not Brittany. If this was your first reaction, you should be proud, because it was pretty darn good. Subbing up!

Tatiana is a vocal beauty and beast. I really recommend Jingers song Teacher Teacher Official video and Perennial live at Wacken. Tatiana's vocal translations are seamless and mind-blowing. If you want a good video that shows a closer view of her for vocal analysis. I suggest the song Judgement and Punishment Tatiana's one take vocal performance. There's a million songs of theirs you could react to, and they all have their own charm and things to point out! The first one I would suggest if you want something softer (for the majority of the song) would be Wallflower. While not really a unified sub genre, extreme female vocals is a pretty big selection. It really became a thing two decades ago with the first singer of Arch Enemy. Tatiana is certainly the most famous by now but their number is legion. I can totally recommend checking out Courtney LaPlante, Melissa Bonny, Angela Gassow, Alissa White-Gluz, Otep Shamaya and Helle Bohdanova.
