Jinjer doesn't fit in any category, Jinjer is Jinjer and I love them too... This song is memorable... The new album is sick...

Want to hear it live? Check out Jinjer at Hellfest From Home 2021. The last song of the concert is Vortex.

oh yes, like J.F. Fisher already said: you can do this song live "Jinjer au Hellfest 2021-Arte Concert", last song of the set > the setlist is below the video!!!

I feel this and their newer song Wallflower are their best composed songs to date. Vortex blew me away the first time I heard it.

I love how this song is slow build to chaos, that breaks all musical traditions. It has no chorus, multiple transitions, and odd timing. The song actually becomes a vortex. This band blows my mind everytime. Awesome stuff!

I love how Jinjer breaks down walls between genres. No slap-bass in metal? Eugene begs to differ. Women cant growl? Tati drops an octave below anything a pair of male false folds has produced, at volume. Metal ain't metal without a predictable drum breakdown? Vlad writes a song that has no room for a chorus or coda or reprise... it's ALL breakdown. Anyway, it was once again a joy to watch the joy on your face, as another piece of amazing music unfolds before your eyes. btw, I believe each of the instrumentalists has created a solo playthrough for their part. If you want to learn Eugene's part, it is all there for the taking/learning/loving. Take Care.

She is the 21st century's Dr.Jekyll and Ms. Hyde ( Ms.because she's a lady of course) the way she sings with her haunting growl then her angelic voice or vice versa. Damn!!! So how much herbal tea does she go through? Very deliciously fulfilling. Lovely job once again my freaky darling🌹😚

It's so much fun to watch this band affect you in so many ways, right in front of our eyes. Not all reactors get Jinjer on as many levels as you seem to. You are like a small child on a wild amusement park ride having the time of your life! I couldn't believe your first Jinjer reaction was the two Pit of Consciousness videos (studio & live). Rather than be stuck in a kind of "what the hell is this, can't quite make sense of it" place, you let it take you for a fun adventure! I'm one of those analytical nerds that takes a long time to figure things out (and to craft a comment), so it's refreshing to see how much instant fun Jinjer has been for you. Looking forward to many more reactions. Take your time, we will be here!

Loooooove this song so much. I have no idea how many times I've heard it and it never gets old. Fun reaction. 😄 Check out the performance of it from Hellfest At Home, last song of the set. I would say that overt hooks are about the only thing that isn't a strength for Tati lyrically or vocally. Cheers!

not only is their music amazing, each and every one of them blows my mind, its not fair so much talent in one band, but their live performance is INTENSE as shit, just got to see three shows in 4 days. I am in love with all of them.

The detail in the video is amazing. The ceiling is cracking, little puffs appear where things are breaking down. The garbage monster (for lack of a better term) came from one of their early videos, but I can't remember which one.

Imho Eugene is one of the best bassists out there, and Vlad one of the best drummers, but I also freaking love how audible the bass is in their songs. Their complex instrumentals sometimes take a bit for me to get into, kinda having to learn some songs first, but it really ruined other music for me, as it just sounds boring now. You say Vortex doesn't have a hook, but it was actually one of the first jinjer songs that just did not stop playing in my head after it came out. Quote from Tati about the song: "It’s the first single and also the first song I started to write lyrics to-and also the first song I started to record. It’s dedicated to all those people like me who spend so much time thinking about their inner world that they start to be devoured by the dark thoughts. Their head is getting heavy-so heavy that it turns into a steel ball and falls off and makes a hole in the floor and then a hole in the ground and then a hole in the earth and then sucks you in. So, please don’t dive so deeply into your thoughts. It’s a bad habit."
@j.f.fisher5318

I though "like a feather I travel down" was a chorus, but it isn’t repeated, I'd just heard the song so many times in a row I didn't realize that. "Rapids and stones" is another.

Ooh love how you say "Vortex" with vocal fry. Delicious! And hey! After you went back and listened to the end for a second time, you went "Woah" and you growled! Those were the false vocal cords! I wanna hear you do it! It would be so sexy! C'mon man! I double dog dare you! From two years in the past lol BTW I love the way Tatiana says Vortex with her accent when she introduces the song live. She says "Wortex" and it's so cute and sexy. I kinda have a thing for accents lol. I'm just a huge fan of the human voice. All the delicious flavors it can produce. Yours is particularly enjoyable.

Always love Jinjer no matter which song structures they include or leave out, I think all four of them have a great sense of music and are great composers! I've always loved slightly offbeat music (pun intended) and think they've still expanded my appreciation for different styles, but especially the way they blend them to sound so seamless and effortless, and as you said, heavy but still oddly romantic - definitely the perfect fit! Always love your reactions, Jacqueline! Thank you! ❤🖤🤘

"I gonna do all songs from Wallflowers...." *liked and subscribed* 😁 Your head will explode of joy, while doing "Wallflowers" full album. 🤘 ....Twelve Foot Ninja are extremelly talented band and they are known by fusing several music styles to Metal like Jazz for example, but not only. You will see what i'm talking about. I call them, the "Slot Machine genre band". 🙃 I can suggest you to first listen "One Hand Killing" song to get into their music. It's epic! ......and be prepared to hilarous and crazy videos! 😅🤣

Whirl, Spin, Swirl....thats a hook. I almost feel like I heard it earlier in the song, a few times, but only instrumentally and not vocally...and even then, each rendition was at a different pace, but maybe I was just hearing what I wanted to hear.

Meh commenter, seriously you need to get some new material troll, you post the same thing on every reaction and it means absolutely nothing I would give you props if you actually backed up your comments with why you think it is meh but you don't and therefore it speaks volumes that you have no idea what you are talking about, the complexity, dynamics and writing on the new album is incredible and if you can't see that then you really need to get your head out of your backside and learn some music appeciation or better yet show us what you can do that is so damned good, we are waiting.

@@bigreddraggin4443so much letters/words directed to a guy that is life is specifically focused in browse and comment "meh album", in every Jinjer reaction.....😅🤣 To be very very honest, i already overpassed the boring feeling to see this written in all reactions (and poorly explained by him), and i can only feel pitty and sorry for him, not because he dislike the album/band/whatever, because anyone have different tastes, but because the guy have serious issues. For me, he is doing this for obvious personal reasons or financial reasons. There is no other reason. No one scans for every Jinjer reaction for more than a month, to simply write in comments "meh album". A guy that simply dont like an album, dont do that. Simply, dont ear anymore that album. Period. Maybe he was a big fan and was rejected somehow by the band? Maybe Tatiana (or any other band member) was a love interess to him and he started to bother, and then he was forced to stay away? Maybe was somehow denied a certain participation with the band? Maybe a frustrated old member or staff member? Maybe someone that is jealous of their sucess? Maybe he have a band that loves very much but them are not receiving the credits and highlight that he thinks that them should deserve, like Jinjer? Maybe he is someone that is being paid to do this, according to discredit the band? Maybe......we probably never know.....😃
