I always wondered why MM won... but then I saw this version of the battle and saw the categories and that there was only a 3 mark margin between them and it all made sense. This is one of my favourite battles-I've been watching it since I was 13-and both of the crews deserve victory in my eyes. Bboying at it's finest here.
Twixx wasn't at the US qualifier, but he was really key to MM winning the world final. He was so dynamic and clean in execution the whole jam scoring 5's and 4's in both categories. And he is such an intimidating bboy for opposing crews. MM was smart. They understood the key to winning was using routines (like Jinjo) so you can have Thesis, Jeromeskee and Twixx out there as much as possible. Jinjo should've had Wing come out more. He is their ace in the hole.
In my opinion, both Thesis and Wing are probably one of the top bboys in the world. Its not easy to judge both bboys when they have their own originality and style. They both deserve the same amount of respect as well as the rest of the bboying community.
wing got the highest score from these match..musicality/foundation 3, originality 5, dynamics 5, execution 5, battle strategy 5.. IDK why born only scored 3 points to this set.. honestly this is the best set i've ever seen from Jinjo
Oh hell yeah, that needs to happen for sure; I didn't realize their style was so similar until I saw this battle. When they both get turned up, their complexity along with the execution goes way up.
You don't see MM a lot because they aren't as active as other international crews. It's pretty hard for crews in the US to actually get a large squad together for events like UK, BOTY, and R16. That's why you see them enter 2 v2 and 3 v3s more. It's not that they DON'T win. It's cause they don't have the time to prepare for big events.
I would love to see the O.U.R. System used in Red Bull B.C. One in the future. It would shed some light on who is a well balanced bboy and it would convince me that the event is not entirely about the sport but also the dancing aspect of it. I think the casual viewers would start to understand what bboying is and that it is no just about the dynamics.
Most of you people need to stop hating. Seems like a lot of you forgot that the "R" in R16 stands for respect. Just enjoy the competition and give respect and props to the crews who entered, the judges. Honestly? I think most of the e-boys here are just favoring for Jinjo because they are the top at the moment. They aren't the only good crew, you know what i'm saying? If you think you can judge better than the judges in R16 then you are dead wrong. Peace, Love, Respect from the East Coast.
the o.u.r judging system is a step up. my only complaint is that it seems to have taken away from the crew aspect alittle and moved the dynamic of a battle to more solo skills.
OMFG Thesis can push any team over the top, his 1st was insane. This battle was far to crazy, both teams came with so much style and energy. Battle truly could have went either way best battle of the year for me!
This is an honest question because I'm fairly new to all of this: what's the point of a team battle if they're not supposed to do routines? Bboys stock moves up all the time to bust out in battles. Just how much of it is truly improv?
I love how people give you thumbs up when you have no videos nor evidence of you bboying. These judges are all Legends and have given more than what is asked of anyone in HipHop to the community. They are all giants when it comes to breaking so if you think you could have judged this better why don't you go find all of their e-mails and tell them so instead of putting it on here and trying to spread hate. None of these judges deserve that at all.
The reason why Thesis got five points on battle in the begininng is because battle points are distributed on overall performance not on how one fares against the latter.
