From what we gathered, that wouldn't be accurate. If it was only bluetooth that defeats the purpose of this product. Jiobit runs on a 5g network (that's also what they say on their website) it also has bluetooth and wifi for closer situations or at home type stuff.

Unfortunately this is a misconception with this product based on how current tile and air tags work. Jiobit can work independently from a phone nearby. It has 4 radios/antennas, LTE cellular, GPS, WiFi and bluetooth. When it't close to care team members (only those assigned by the admin user) it connects to their phones via Bluetooth and lets you know who your loved one is with. When in a trusted place, like home, school or grandparents house, it will use wifi and GPS to determine its location and notify you when it enters or leaves that location via the cell connection. When not in a trusted place OR near a care team member its in full tracking mode and will use the cellular network, GPS and wifi (access points) to pinpoint its location within a few feet and sends its location and a timeline of where it has been to the care team. It also has a Live mode feature to quickly update its location within 60 seconds periods. It basically has the same technology as a cellphone but without a screen and has many more features than a standard Air tag, which is why it's needs a subscription.

Well said. But the proximity of the phone would still dictate that the device uses the phones location instead of its own. Perhaps showing disabled WiFi and disabled Bluetooth would work - but phones do a lot behind the scenes. The only real way to test this product is to test it without a phone present. Not only that, but outside of suburbia as well. There are tons of WiFi devices that can share location information. We just don’t know for sure…..

fitbit is coming out with a lot of useful features these days - maybe we should do a video on that!

The subscription allows data transmission for realtime location..... doubt the fitbit does that.
