Haha, another classic almost as famous as river south in china. It's 15 years ago, and he has re-arranged it many times over the years. Very distinctive song for that opening refrain. It's the opener for his Sanctuary 2.0 concert, a fantastic memorable opening, when that first note ring out in the stadium, and a visual feast appears with it. Cao Cao tends to be portrayed as a villian in the novels but in history, he was one hack of a genius strategist warlord in the Three Kingdoms. Somehow JJ has a penchant for dark characters. He is also a fan of Darth Vader ;p He has always had great creative imagination for his MVs but the music company he was with had budget limits haha. It was only when he moved to Warner then the MV budget start to match his vision.
Yeah… many many many Chinese artists have covered this particular song (in concerts, on TV shows, etc) written by JJ Lin even up to this day despite this song being 17 years old now. It’s one of JJ ‘s hits that everyone in the Chinese-speaking world knows of.
