If three point shots were the way the game was played then, like it is now, Larry would be nailing 3's all game long. This guy was the 3 point champion in the contest. That shows who is the best three point shooter in the league. If there's anything this guy did not care about was the percentage of his career threes. He's a three time mvp of the league. When he was at his best he was the most clutch shooter in the entire league. J j reddick Is basically a scrub compared to larry bird.

I think NBA head coaches shouldn't get fired as quick as they do. The Lakers coach Darvin, and also the dude from the Bucks (I think Adrian Griffin his name). Seeing how far the Lakers got, and seeing HOW they lostt, I can't put that on the coach. Yes Darvin Ham was lacking some sort of effort or emotion, whatever you want to call it. But the Lakers losing Game 2 against Denver, with a superstar player on their own roster on fire .. is not on the coach. The players need some sort of common sense or urgency. Like AD, shoot the damn ball. Any superstar player who actually cared about winning in that scenario, I think gladly would have told the coach or the players in the 4th quarter, "Fuq all them play calls. "Give me the ball and move." Like sure JJ might be better equipped to handle situations like that, and get things rolling even better when it's already clicking. But if the players were hungry enough, we might not even be in this situation right now, with them looking for a new coach. 🥴🥴 However I do like JJ Redick, so I ain't mad at the choice. He seems like a smart mf when he speaks about the game of basketball. Hope it translates well to the NBA season. And hopefully the Lakers players can bring some fight. I do believe the Lakers players are good enough to make a great run.

One thing i am sure of is JJ would be working his ass off, thinking late into the night on how to improve the offensive and defensive schemes, obsessively studying the film. He just needs a couple of experienced voices in his staff to handle tricky locker room situations where he can lean on their experience. Ham was clueless and incompetent, JJ's competitive and obsessive nature wouldnt allow him to just stand around with hands in pockets. It wouldn't surprise me if reports came in that JJ went on a 2 week mountain cabin retreat before training camp to learn Hurley's Uconn offensive schemes and bball philosophy, studying film all day and night, lakers need that kind of personality and mindset. Imo, he might be better off as a player development, mentor, or start off as an assistant first & then work his way up. I think dude is too soft. I liked listening to his podcast, if you look back at his podcast career, as soon as one of his takes receives backlash, he'll come back on the next show to apologize & retract his statements. He doesn't have the backbone to stand down on what he said, so imagine him being that way once a player or multiple players opposes his Coaching, he's just going to be a "Yes" man then. We'll see though.

What you just described is someone being open to being wrong, re-evaluating their logic, and coming to the conclusion they may have overlooked info. That's called being a mature adult. Refusing to acknowledge ever being wrong and illogically standing your ground is the mentality of small children. People like this never improve because they already think everything they do is right. If something isn't working, having a coach that thinks they're never wrong is that worst possible scenario.

Jason Kidd who has a high IQ for the game needed to go and be an assistant before he seen any success because this is a whole new thing than playing or knowing the game. This is the equivalent of the Colts hiring Jeff Saturday.

@@lionelgrisbane Get that out dated bull Russell example out of here….You we’re better off saying Pat Riley or Bird. Kerr had history being in a freakin GM before coaching. He had experience in knowing what it would take to do more than just coach and we know his IQ was A1 so yeah HE made sense. Jason Kidd didn’t have a successful career coaching before he went to LA as an assistant which is WHY he went to be an assistant. Neither did Nash. Neither Did Fisher. How many high IQ players do we have to see not do well in THIS ERA to see it’s not just X&O’s to be a good coach.…there’s a reason people tend to start off as assistant coaches. Doc ain’t the greatest example my G. LA has been doing TOO MUCH experimenting. Remember the LUKE WALTON debacle?? Hamm was a gamble! Westbrook and Melo were nightmares!! Damn! Take your time and build organically.

Redick is closed minded. He stereotyped players from sixty years ago as plumbers. RedDick could not carry the jock straps of many of those players. All RedDick could do was shoot. He could not play defense. He could not rebound. He was a damn good shooter. The Lakers will fire him at the end of the 2026 season.

Sounds like he's got no experience especially to take on a team wanting to WIN NOW. He needs a couple years as an assistant. Poor decision by the Lakers like probably the worst coach hiring in the history of the NBA.
