I mean he said on his interviews back then that he didnt like this manga as the direction of the story was been off road compare to its original one on the one shot manga.
How is the anime? I have it on my watchlist on Crunchyroll and was thinking about starting it soon. Should I still watch it or skip it (right now, it's between that and My Hero Academia)?
@@RealityBased season 3 will be good, what I hope for is that jjk gets the bleach tybw treatment, rewrites and write ins are needed cause the series got extremely rushed because of shonen jump due to its popularity
THIS IS SO TRUE AND I KNOW IT IS CAUSE IT WAS LITERALLY HOW I WAS LIKE ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO. my friends kept telling me that one piece was peak but I refused to get into it because 1) too long 2) alr watched 140 ep of anime but got bored cause it took me wayyy too long 3) I am a naruto fan. So then I decided to finally give a shot at the manga. It’s been like 14 days and I’m on ch 539. One piece IS PEAK. DO NOT LET THE LENGTH FOOL YOU. IT LITERALLY NEVER GETS BORING ( for me ).
As much as I love one piece, there are definitely low parts, especially during certain arcs. This is ESPECIALLY noticeable in the anime adaptation. Having said that, most issues people have with One Piece (myself included) are only part of the anime. Overall, One Piece actually sometimes feels TOO SHORT. A big example of this is the amount of things that felt somewhat rushed in Wano (one of the more recent arcs). Still, mostly everything was resolved thoroughly.
honestly the "worst" part of one piece is going from skypeia to long ring long island mainly because those two are more of the meh arcs, especially LRLI, but after watching skypeia in the anime I can say the first half is bad but once Rolands story gets going and you get the "I was gonna ask for a light" quote thats when skypeia gets good.
@@PérezYaps same, that’s why I started to read the manga. Also, the anime has freaking filler, but that wasn’t my main problem. My main problem was the pacing. But even that’s about to be fixed with THE ONE PIECE.
@@RehanSherin I've always said this. The fights in jjk are masterpieces but the story is nearly non-existent. I still love the show but it needs more of a story.
People who'll always criticize one piece for it's slow pace will never understand our feelings for love of one piece..I feel so empty after catching up to it and realising that it's coming to an end
I felt that way after catching up to the manga during the start of egghead.......now I'm in Wano in the anime after almost 10 months of watching the anime. I'ma bout to be depressed again until the live action and THE one piece come out
@@NotSparx11 I satrted the manga in late june and finished in October while the anime I started watching off and on in December but really started watching in like march or April and should finish the anime in October
I have three problems with one piece. 1) I don't like the animation 2) Waaaaaaay too long 3) I don't like the pacing Which is why I am so excited for the new one piece on Netflix to come out so that I can finally get into it properly :)
1. You'll (almost probably) get used to it, also it becomes better overtime and changes vastly 2. Watch like the first arc east blue it ends at ep 50 or you could even watch till ep 12 if 50 is too much to give it a chance 3. VERY IMPORTANT, watch one pace instead of one piece, it's one piece with the bad pacing cut out and the music doesn't cut off either, it's like half the length of the original and makes the pacing so much better
1. Animation up untill Marineford is great, then picks back up at Wanokuni arc 2. That's a good thing, One Piece fans are caught up and want moooore. With how many reaction (channels) I've seen watch it to latest episode, I might as well have seen it at least 3 times over. 3. Yea, pacing is the worst in any anime ever. Coincidentally, pacing issues are prominent right after Marineford ends and are way less egregious in wano arc. One Pace skips important dialogue sometimes and I mean that.
Ngl, I don't think One Piece's ending can live up to the hype. Even if its good, fans will just not be satisfied due to the buildup of decades of time since the series started.
I dont think you guys understand how story telling works. All the plot lines in the like 3 decades arent gonna end in a single arc. Multiple plotlines are gonna end through out the final saga
I like one piece But jjk on average has better fights imo One piece fights are carried by the plot and emotions less so than actual action Atleast till the anime in wano
one piece emotions are prolly its weakest point wdym, most of the time it feels like im forced to feel something but it never hits, maybe the manga is different idk
Fights are great, animation hasn't done them justice since 2014 till the newer animation style. Haki ruined a lot of enjoyment but there have been a lot of memorable fights in recent arcs like Law and Smoker vs Vergo, not the best but you remember it, not the aftermath but the fight itself. Look up Zoro vs S-Hawk on RU-vid, the animation and choreography carries that fight
Yeah I’m sorry. But you self reported a little as a OP Stan. You cannot act like One Piece doesn’t have major pacing and writing issues INCLUDING plot holes. “JJK had its time” is an argument that can kinda be applied to OP. Unless the ending is perfect, and incorporates everything I think the length of OP is still a valid criticism. It doesn’t take 2000 chapters to tell a story. Just doesn’t
Alr so JJK is one of my favorite anime/manga and I can agree it is the most GLAZED series I have ever seen. And I doubt you’ve ever even read/seen one piece. Only real ones understand why the length is needed.
What annoys me the most about One Piece is the inconsistencies. One minute Base Luffy's haki is holding up pretty well against Katakuri, the next he gets his enraged haki-claded punch casually blocked by a fodder gifter's haki.
@@goldenwaver-themagicalspir9618 im assuming you are talking about the wano jail thingy. The literally point of the seen was he couldn't use haki and thats why his attacks were getting blocked lmao.
@@BakonGames-t3xI'm going to have to agree with him, I only hear Shanks talked about by people who are already OP fans. But there are people who never even watched JJK that knows about Gojo. My 65 year old mom was able to describe him even though she doesn't know his name. I mean they just had a real-life funeral for the guy, and in Japan he has been beating out Goku and Zeno as the strongest character in anime in some of the polls, I don't even know how that happened. So as of this point in time, gojo far outranks Shanks in popularity.
One piece is hands down my favorite anime and maybe show but there are some definite plot holes. Maybe not ground breaking ones(that I know of) but there are some.
Tbf I get why people don’t wanna spend a thousand hours on a anime. When there are others, not saying it’s bad but damn that’s a fuck ton of eps when there are others
I have no problem with the story (seen bits and pieces that seem amazing), the fights look good, and the excessive number of chapters doesn’t bother me. What does bother me is the art style and character design. Those throw me off and ruin my desire to watch/read one piece. It doesn’t matter if the story is good or the animation is top tier, if the art style/character designs are off putting, then I can’t bring myself to watch/read it.
That's valid. Most One Piece fans love the sheer variety of character designs. Other series tend to stick to a very specific style of characters, while One Piece uses all types of themes and pushes the suspension of disbelief to its limits. To me though, that embodies the concept of One Piece perfectly. It doesn't allow itself to be restricted like other manga. Just like Luffy, Oda can do whatever he wants and it just works.
As a fan of one piece I totally understand this. It is a major reason why I couldn't bring myself to watch Soul Eater for more than like two or three episodes.
JJK has very standardized but grand fights. Its what Westerners (especially Americas) love to see, as thats how superhero movies / shows work. One Piece is super creative but also incredibly hype. I agree with you that One Piece clears tho
I used to hate one piece fights and thought they were the weakest part pf the show. Started to watch the fights on youtube which remove all the filler. God I was literally glued to the screen for hrs
@@Neamio Wano and Egghead definitely still have a lot of filler in fights but there are certain episodes or parts of episodes that are literally jaw dropping. Lots of those clips are on Crunchyroll's YT channel or scattered on YT elsewhere.
Did you skip over the recap episodes (watching it with two of my kids and we just skipped those episodes at Eddie's Lobby and only watched the cartoons at the end)?
Listen, I think One Piece would be a great manga, but Pirates just aren't my thing to read about. However, that's why there are mangas. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and they should feel free to choose what they like over what people say is better!
Most animes (and mangas) can deliver good fights no matter what, so if I hear a person saying One Piece doesn't have good fights unironically they on some premium zaza (Note that I have not watched or read One Piece, I do however think that the Sukuna and Gojo fight is peak)
gojo vs sukuna fight is peak jjk and it almost never relies on flashbacks for emotion unlike one piece. i bet any fight in one piece can top gojo vs sukuna. hope MAPPA gives enough time to animate it.
Ok but Gojo did much more for is verse, he Literally learned a lot of info by himself with no one or no thing to help him just so he could help everyone defeat Trashkuna, many people be saying that Sukuna can win even without Mahoraga then prove it, anyways he literally also said that they could use his body as a weapon and he didn’t care and all that Shanks did was sacrifice an arm, remember we are only talking about Shanks, not what his actions resulted into.
Ain't no way I tried watching one piece but it's just so boring I stopped after the alabasta arc it's just keeps dragging more the pacing has to be the worst thing and they changed a lot in the anime like for eg- On the manga nami was the one who joined first not zoro but on the anime it's vice-versa
One piece isn't even that good anymore. Almost every fight for the crew big or small after the time skip has been taken by Luffy, and the number of panels for character development in the last 500 chapters for the main cast (outside of Luffy) can probably be counted using your fingers and toes. Wano was the perfect arc for Zoro, but he barely even showed up in it. Egghead was the perfect arc for Franky, but he kind of just existed in it. Fishman island was the perfect arc for Nami, but she just instantly told Jinbei she forgave him. Only Punk Hazard and the Big Mom arc gave an okay amount of character development. There just aren't moments like Zoro's "nothing happened," Robin's rescue or Sunny's farewell anymore.
holy this kid is the king of glazing one piece shanks doesn't even 1/10 th the amount of Gojo's aura what are you on?? One piece is a snooze fest watch 500 episodes or read 1000 chapters for one good moment Nah I'd not waste time
@@saverarehman302 you cannot compare one piece with that manga where its only peak was Sukuna vs jogo mahoraga and Gojo. everything after Gojo's death was trash upto the ending
@@JochiruKujo kid you okay? Only peak was a thousand moments more than that and you know what you right 236 chapters were goated unlike one piece where after 500 chapters there’s one thing thats semi good so like a couple minutes worth of semi goodness in the whole show or manga agreed
