Excellent video!! The funny thing is, that Reverso is usually added to a collection after you complete the regulat classics, like the Sub. In my case, the Sub, Explorers and Speedmaster that I own all came AFTER. The Reverso was THE FIRST luxury watch I bought, and it's still my favorite in the collection.

I watched this video when it was new and thumbs upped it then. Fast forward 3 months… I was able to work a great trade for a used/unworn JLC Reverso Tribute Duo face. This watch made the DJ41 I traded look quite the slouch. A real chasm between quality and iconic and history. The Reverso is LITERALLY the first sports watch.

As always it's interesting to hear your views Andy. It's great to see a Reverso on the channel. Years ago I pondered a Cartier Tank or a Reverso but for a while I wasn't able to decide so promptly sat on the fence hoping that urge for a rectangular watch would save my wallet. It didn't and eventually pulled the trigger on a Duoface small seconds without regret. Mine was one of the 'Water Resistant' versions with a slightly curved case (cradle) back. I still yearn for a Tank but there is something about my JLC that seems to draw me to look at it and maybe flip the case to the travel time (the hour can be flipped in hour increments to advance from the 'front' dial so covers 2 times). I have noticed that retail prices have increased quite a lot since I got mine and really don't care on resale at the moment as I intend to keep my example. It's also a watch that you can wear almost anywhere and few have no idea what it is. My watch gets worn so is a little scratched up but I'm not intending to get them polished out as it's part of the journey.

Great piece ! I got the classic small seconds last November in steel wishing they had a pink gold silver dial… and it just came out : argh ! The level of comfort with the fagliano strap is incredible . I Go with the 45.6 x 27.4 mm line , but yours looks great . Deployment strap is the way to go, the buckle damaged the strap badly

Great vid there, Andy. Nicely edited and filmed - fantastic going for a plucky amateur! Reverso is definitely an icon - more cerebral and engineered than the whimsical Tank. I'd definitely recommend the classic small second - a really versatile watch that can dress up or down (like all great watches). That said, I think JLC is losing sight of what the Reverso is: an understated, elegant, sporting dress watch. It's getting ever flasher, ever bigger, ever more expensive. While the Tributes could have been the pick of the range, they exemplify where its going wrong...

So I’ve thought about the reverse multiple times but have ended up getting a tank XL with the gulilloche dial and an MUT moon phase in blue instead. Here’s why- the base movement of the MUT is essentially what Patek, Cartier, vacheron and AP use and I love the look and feel of the MUT. As far as the tank Must is concerned, the dial, the shape, the way it sits on my wrist, just won me over. Surprisingly, despite the thinness of the reverso, it looks thicker and bulkier on the wrist. The big forehead and chin don’t help it’s case either (despite everyone saying “it’s the perfect ratio”).

It is a funny one isn’t it. I’m with you and adore my MUTM.

Great video Andy and well researched. I adore the Reverso, but sadly it is a watch that does not seem to suit me. Maybe I just need to try on different sizes. Huge congratulations on the 10k subscribers. well earn and well deserved 👏🥃

Absolutely agree, a nice replacement artisan made leather strap would completely revitalise the wearing experience of that watch. Send the hardware off to The Strap tailor and have David work his magic. I have been enjoying a tan Badalassi wax from him for the past month now... Its gorgeous on my Longines spirit zulu time.

Never get a Large Reverso. If you need a Large then you don’t understand the piece.

I’d generally agree. Except for gents at the end of the wrist bell curve, the medium size Reverso is plenty large enough for most people.

It's a shame that the Reverso has skyrocketed so much in price (indefensibly, IMO) in recent years. I've always liked it, but it's one of those watches that I admire but would seldom have the occasion to wear. At current prices, it's a non-starter for me.

Another great video, introducing a few icons (don't forget the Explorer) 🧐 Here's an amazing " Artwork dial " JLC Reverso ... painted with a 1-hair paintbrush ! 2:22 in the video : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-buaLQMPWq-k.html

Santos's flight was real , verifiable and repeatable. A claim anything to do with space flight can't .

Sorry, Andy. The large Classic is too large for your wrist. You’re trying to overcome its ‘perceived’ lack of wrist presence by going with a larger watch. You feel like you need to experience the Reverso so bad that you’re forcing it. The medium size is closest to the iconic/classic size. The large Reverso hits like a Franck Muller, meaning, a fashion watch. Don’t force your love for the Reverso. Just pass.
