Why does Judaism enter the lives of non Jews? how can one really know anything about their soul, when people in history have left their faith? Why would a non Jew practice Judaism? is it extremely arrogant to believe in the possibility that somewhere within my ancestral lineage, one man or woman was either forced to or decided to leave their Jewish faith? is there an exercise to meditate and connect and distinguish both of these souls? I don't think that i feel offended for not being part of the resurrected, uh... eternally living Jewish soul/body shenanigan deal. but why am i drawn to this faith, language and G-d? why do the teachings come to me from people who enter my life? i know i may be insane haha. if anyone has any enlightening commentary on this. thank you!
Jon Cannaday has a good question.. Rav Jochanan explains Esther 2:5 in Megilla 13a:2 that the name 'Jehudi' comes from 'Jihudi' as in 'Jehuda'in', as someone who repudiates idol worship. Hence the text tells that Mardechai was both 'ish Jehudi' (a repudiator) and 'ish Jemeni' (from the tribe of Benjamin). As a goj / ger who understands the 'two souls concept', I like this explanation. A real Jehudi (in the sense as just described) is someone who clings to the G'd-ly soul just as rav Manis Friedman explains.

He should say soul and spirit as it is very confusing. All men possess both, although few use the latter. The very term "Jew" is a modern term. I doubt any of the Askenazi can trace their lineage back to Canaan, so they are disqualified by definition.
I doubt your statement. I am sure they can trace their lineage. Thousands of years of being nomadic a.d reproducing with the people of all nations will dilute your heritage. As well this will change your physical appearance. Yes some Jews have converted to Judaism, but very little have. This is why they do not solicit their relgion. And remember some of the children of the bible have converted to Christianity over the years.
So, what is growth? Un-true? A baby becomes grown, is untrue ? Life=growth, in different ways, as life. Do we not see life in God ? We see, the flower of life math. Never born, never dies. ADAM is called as 아담 ( 아 즉 나를 닮았다 는 뜻) . EVE is called as 이브 (입을 가진 존재). 즉 사람이란 하나님을 닮고 말을 할 줄 아는 존재란 뜻입니다. 남자는 하나님의 형상이요, 여자는 그것을 찬양하고 기꺼이 따르는 존재입니다. 남자는 양이고 여자는 음입니다. 음양의 조화가 soul입니다. soul is consciousness. I think that GODLY soul is soul based on SPIRIT, and animal soul is based on weak SPIRIT ( troubled by worldly pursuit).
Soul math is baffling. Jewish grandmother and Irish grandfather have Son. Son is a Jew, but practices Catholicism and doesn't share Jewish heritage with kids. He marries non Jewish woman and has 3 children, but all are non Jew based on mother right. One a daughter converts to Judaism, as she claims to be Jewish to the core. Is she wrong? Her 2 siblings don't identity as Jewish. This person is my fiancee, I'm not Jewish. So will our children be Jewish? This is bizarre, is there Jewish texts that back this up? I'm just here to learn about Judaism, and I understand there are many Jewish views. Also I am not insulted just curious as these aren't convincing arguements, just perplexed and wondering if this is common Jewish thought or just this Rabbi's interpretation. I know about the matriarchal passing of lineage, but his detailed explanation sounds bizarre. I'll say he has interesting things to say, but he knows as much about non jews as non jews know about Judaism.

I thought it was a class, which makes questions appropriate. Do you ever wonder why you are so easily irritated? It is easy to follow what the rabbi says. I don't understand your desire to eliminate the questions. Perhaps if you were there in person, you might even have a question yourself.
Peter, nothing of eternal value can be said in any language of words. It is a limitation of words, not of truth, which may be difficult or impossible to fully express in languages. Yet, if you listen carefully, the words may guide you to a Truth that is within you. Do you know a song called, Stairway to Heaven? of course, everyone does. Do you recall that, "...if you listen very hard, the tune will come to you at last." I think it significant that the musicians said, "the tune will come to you," and not, "the words..." Also, it is the piper who is "calling you to join him." The only burden on you is to listen carefully. You will do, when you want to know. This rabbi is my favorite truth teller, but that said, words are only signs pointing the way home.
