Own these. I had dropped into Audio 46 looking to buy the T&A Wireless, was disappointed with the build, and plumped for the Audivina as an Impulse purchase. Was thinking of returning when I learned that the W had cut up the outside box, precluding return. A couple of things that have made them listenable -- break in at least 50 hours. Replacing the cable and running them balanced. Mine do not show an imbalance between the cups. I'd still be interested in the mods or maybe Hifiman should do an eq.
you would be surprise how many headphones I get in that aren't matched- few people notice until they are matched - for instance I never let any XTC I make get unmatched drivers ever so that's a non starter from the begining with my builds BUT I have tested hundreds of other peoples headphones and no one matches drivers so meticulously as I do- I guarantee it
I like how you think it will sell even for that. The HE-9 had to be slashed from $700 all the way down to $100. 7 times cheaper before it was able to sell. This will be no different as all those that wanted such esoteric experiences, already bought it.
@@Berkanann our evaluation worked out in such a way to develop compulsive disorders very quickly. Esoteric tunings exist because there is a very particular parts of such a presentation that the brain laches onto, then carries you away with it. No matter how awful something is, your brain will learn to cope with it.
I very rarely laugh out loud while watching a headphone review. However, when you mentioned a fan noise having possibly being increased in pitch and volume, I completely lost it. Thanks I needed that today.
Hi. It seems you are the few who have both xtc2 and xtc^2.5. Can you compare them for me? I can't decide, even JM doesn't provide too much information. Thank you very much, have a nice weekend
@@vanbuitran1746 They are pretty similar as I got the "Warm yet Detailed" tuning on both Headphones. The 2.5 which is a closed Back pretty much sounds close to an open back headphone. Both are Great All Rounders with Detail, Punch and Slam and nice Bass when called for. I preferred the 2.5 more as far as comfort goes. If you get a JM Audio headphone try and upgrade to the nicest headbands he offers. If you've heard the HIFIMAN, ZMF and other big name HP's the JM HP's are right there with them sound wise.
This is a headphone that surprised me. Based on looks alone (build quality) I thought this headphone was gonna kick ass. Personally I haven’t heard it, but many respected reviews like yourself don’t like it. 😮
Thanks Wave theory LOVE your channel no hold back! the hifman Audivina looks weird on but feel nice in hand - the mod was grueling - tons and tons of material they glued on has to be removed without ruining wiring or magnets- its a crazy tuning I tried my best but over all it could have turned out worse im glad it turned out better- BTW the drill holes were NOT necessary all around but my first instinct was tune it like a flute and well that didnt work out lol- so closing or opening ports do zilch
