General tips:
If you are an econ student, your undergrad notes will come handy. If you don't have them, get distance learning course material online for free from various open universities (eg: Ignou & other State & central universities).
For students from a non-econ background, covering all the classical theories of macro, micro, and international trade are a must. Solid foundation of theory combined with a decent ability to solve mathematical and statistical problems will help in building the base for cracking the exam.
It is extremely important to solve previous year question papers (shops in Ber Sarai, near Old JNU campus stock good solved compilations). Some of last year question papers are available online in JNU website itself (Jawaharlal Nehru University (jnu.ac.in)).
The short courses on Macroeconomics and Microeconomics in Khan Academy are quite useful to build a solid foundation for appearing to any Masters’ level entrance exam. However, completely relying on this material will not suffice.
Besides, one may refer to sites like econlib.com, economicsdiscussion.net as well as videos on Marginal Revolution University, MIT Opencourseware( • 1. Introduction and Su... , etc. There are interesting courses on MOOC hosting sites like Coursera.
