Watching him play for Atleti is just sad. His style of play was never going to work with Simeone at the helm, and the club needs to let Felix go for whatever offer they may get. Dont want to risk letting a former 100 million purchase leave for free (especially considering Felix is what, 22? 23?)
@@gazihalawani damn he's contracted that long with them? I thought it was like 2025 but damn they're gonna be asking for hella money to get him out of there. Poor Joao😔
yup i said so right away.... i think he would benefitted staying 1 year longer in Benfica... but even if he wanted to leave, why on earth Atletico?? any other team would have been so much better...
It was a head scratcher when I heard he chose Atletico Madrid. He came from an offensive flowing unit to a defensive minded team. Hope he leaves and goes to a better club that suits his talents
If he went to any top attacking team. Maybe city would actually limit his full due to his system. Real Madrid, Bayern and Paris would unlock his full potential.
@@biggybwana6304 I don't think City would limit his abilities or limit his opportunities to showcase his talent, probably he could be overhyped for being a player he's actually not,a few examples of players who media & pundits thought were way better than they actually are while they played for Manchester City are Leroy Sane,Sterling,Zinchenko & Gabriel Jesus. People thought City was limiting them but until today none of them players has gone on to do better than they were playing for Pep's City
And once again Grizou is to blame for a circumstance that prevents another player from developing (Joao/position(Messi). He should definitely apologize to both of them for wanting to go pro.😡😡😡😡😡
Yup,he was opening the scoring in the first 10 minutes for a couple of games. Was a key player in our top 4 finish in La Liga. That gave hopes and we thought that this was going to be his revelation season but it all fell apart in the middle of this campaign.
@@antonioguerreiro1615 they hit his clause so nothing they could do, not to mention 120M for a player who played 6 months for the first team. Who wouldn't of taken that?
@@stephenramos2824 very true BUT the difference between now and then, is now we have a presidente who is not only a football legend but loves the club..........then it wwas only about money
Griezmann worked there and he could certainly have played that role. Problem is he’s primarily played up top alone and isolated, as opposed to Griezmann’s role and yes, he doesn’t quite have Griezmann’s defensive work rate but you’d assume that could be coached.
One thing I feel is definitely hindering simeone and his players is a shift in how they play. Before, he was very much a coach who wanted to absorb pressure and attack on the transition with speed and precision using his trusty 4-4-2. And for a long time it really did work. With La Liga being the technical league it is and obviously in the UCL they'd end up playing teams who wanted to have the ball so it was a perfect plan. But I feel like the past couple seasons he was attempting to shift from that to not just a different shape with the 3 atb but also a more possession based attack, hence bringing in players like Lemar, De Paul, Felix, Witsel etc. in response to teams being more defensive vs. them. So now not only does the system and player shift make it difficult to make use of those fast breaks but your possession based attack is also frankly not very good. Maybe I'm wrong and a diehard Atletico fan can correct me but it really does feel like they're in this weird limbo in their attacking that then just makes the whole team feel out of whack and simeone being unable to fully commit to one side or the other
You are on the right path. The major thing is recruitment and attitude. The best team Simeone had was the 15/16 on. That was a team of fighters. The last amazing team (apart from the title winning one in 2021) was the 17/18 and parts of the 18/19 (it had Rodri). Imagine Cholo losing Lucas Hernandez, Godin, Juanfran and replacing them with Mario Hermoso (is not good enough anymore), Felipe (Cholo would prefer to use Witsel and Kondogbia as CB) and Arias (injuries killed his promising career). In one summer Atleti lost an entire back 4. Carrasco then left for China, Partey and Rodri soon after and then Griezmann. The club had so many quality alternatives to choose from. Rather than buying Laca, we bought Costa for 60. Lemar for 70 when we could have gotten players who may not have the big name but would be as serviceable as a Brozovic at Inter or a Vazquez at Real. Atleti has a recruitment issue. Even if Cholo goes, the problem with director Berta will remain. We bought a LB only to see him play CB. We needed defense and somehow Cunha reached Atleti. Makes no sense to me. Then the mentality is another issue. The guys have become a little too soft and relaxed. Cholo even played with a 433 one time. I was hyped and we still lost because as soon as the team goes 1 down its either game is done or the Metropolitano has to make noise for them to win. Nowadays we can't even have a shot on target against Real. Before, we would be at them even when we were losing. Final thing is that players are regressing and the manager needs a break. Koke and Saul cannot do it anymore, especially Saul and he is not close to 30. Oblak before the pandemic had more clean sheets than goals conceded. Massive drop off. The academy under Fernando Torres needs to be trusted more and the players that are not good enough needs to leave. I know we cannot have another Godin or Gabi to battle it out gladiator style but we need those types of men back on our field like Henderson. And I believe the fans, especially in Spain do not feel close Atleti anymore after the change in the club's crest and now the stripes.
SPOT ON BROTHER The pandemic title win was nice but when you realize how much suarez carried the last couple of games it was clear it wasnt the start of a new era. The window we bought Lemar could be the start of no bueno transfers for an obvious rebuild even when we’d have major sales. Now this seasons done early so hopefully the board can clear deadwood and properly rebuild our defense
For not being a Atlético follower (I am one) you hit the nail on the head. We lost s great deal of talent on the defensive side of the ball. Now trying to be more offensive but we can't do anything right the defense is a shell of itself Reinildo has been the only solid defender. The midfield doesn't work and the attack doesn't work. Losing Lucas, Godin, Filipe Luis, Juan Fran was a major blow. Lemar can't stay healthy, Joao was getting fouled every chance the opposition got with no reprieve. De Paul is out of position. Morata is terrible, Molina has been awful. The club needed to bring in a proper DM, a true #9 and a solid CB and didn't. As much as Simeone gets blame for tactics, the board didn't supply use with the necessary players. Im all for selling what we can buy a solid CB and bringing in the academy players, and next year all the guys loaned out. It will be like a whole new squad. Losing Rodri to Man City and Partey to Arsenal was another big blow and there went the midfield, right along with the defense. It's time to tear down and rebuild.
@@RabonaTV Juizo..............iam tirar quem da equipa do Benfica ?? o Joao Mario ?? o RAFA ??? essa caravana ja passou o Ladrao do LFV foi atras do dinheiro e quem se lixou foi o puto
Hey Adrian! Good video, you nailed pretty much every factor in this story! I wanted to make a few comments as an Atleti fan because we're in a big crisis right now and there are so many angles to look at this from. The guy very clearly needs to be pulling the strings, I mean he's, in my opinion, the most talented and skilful player on the team, he's super creative, has excellent vision and also the skill necessary to use that vision and creativity to the max. He's at his best when he's on the ball and when there are players in front of him. A lot of his best performances have come from him playing on the wing, where he can more easily receive the ball, or dropping off to collect the ball from the midfield. It makes no sense to play him as a striker, and I honestly don't understand why Simeone keeps doing this. Yes, João is very good and can play there, but you're not gonna get the best from him if he's in a position where he's only gonna touch the ball 30 times in 90 minutes (I don't know the average amount of touches he gets per 90, but there have been games in which that number has been below 30, for instance). There's this back and forth that seems to go on where João performs well, he's given an opportunity in the form of a start, doesn't perform great and gets benched again. This has been going on for quite a few years and now it's gotten to a point where it's honestly quite unsustainable for the player. I find this really striking because Simeone doesn't think twice about starting Saúl when his performances are honestly quite weak most of the time. That's just one example, but there are many players in the same situation, such as De Paul or Correa in my opinion. Something I've noticed about Simeone is that he seems to trust some players too much, and he seems to not trust some players enough. João unfortunately is not trusted enough. If you want a player to develop and become more consistent, you need to give them minutes, you need to trust them. That isn't happening here. That idea of trust, or lack thereof, is very clear when looking at Griezmann. He starts every game (deservedly so, he's basically the reason why we play any football at all), but he doesn't play as a striker, or at least he's afforded a lot more freedom to roam around, collect the ball and pull the strings. Why doesn't this happen with João? I believe it has to do with trust. Simeone implicitly trusts Griezmann and he's comfortable giving him that responsibility, which is what João needs to become the best version of himself. Our style of play also doesn't lend itself well to how João plays (in all honesty it doesn't lend itself well to football itself either, I don't know how I manage to sit through a whole match once or twice a week). I don't even want to describe how we play, because first of all, we don't, and second of all, I have so many things to say that I'd never finish writing this. Basically, we lack creativity or any sort of force driving us forward, we rely on Griezmann and basically that's it. Our pressing is perhaps the worst I've ever seen from a football team, our defence has been shambolic of late and we can't move the ball around quickly or vertically for the life of us. The whole team is massively underperforming, and in my opinion, that's an indication that there's something wrong with the coaching. Even if João was afforded a role more like Griezmann's, I think he'd still struggle, as the rest of the team around him would just not be ready for what he has to offer, they wouldn't make the right runs or be in the right places. This is all stuff that's worked on in training, and it seems like it's being completely glossed over at the moment, simply by the looks of things on the pitch. João could do with improving his attitude though. He's definitely not gonna go anywhere under Simeone if he keeps this up, but honestly I understand his frustration. There are so many things going wrong that the best he can do is leave the club, or hope for a management change, which seems unlikely, although if we continue playing so poorly it might just happen. He's so talented, and I honestly don't understand how he's managed to stick with us for so long, because a lot of these problems have been apparent for many years now.
For a manager like Simeone who will never change his attitude and his style a player like Felix should never have signed for them and even Benfica rather than just taking the money could have resisted the offer and saved his career. His talents deserve a good attacking team and Atletico also need to come out of this we are the underdogs mentality as Simeone has made them believed . He's the highest paid manager in the world and no other big club will ever accept his style of play that's why he will never leave them and I'm stunned how fans cheer at his name more than the players and this shows how the club is run. He is no great manager even I could have a team play like Atletico and that too on a shoe string budget and with championship players
Benfica could not have resisted the offer since what Atleti paid was the release clause, the decision was on the player and the player alone. You are downplaying what Simeone has done for Atleti by a disgraceful amount. No manager in the world could have done what Simeone did for Atleti. Atleti were a mid table team when he arrived and within two years took them to a champions league final and won LaLiga with prime Real Madrid and prime Barça.
@@jjj8317 I dont want him to leave but I understand why he should/would. I was only painting out that the guy was slandering one of the greatest managers in the last 15 years
Simeone is an elite manager. He is just doubting himself due to people like yourself who want him to play more "ATTACKING". Put a giroud in this atletico Madrid and they would be doing so much better
Joao Felix could work, he has had some bright games but they are always very few and far between. He played against Getafe in the first game of the season then got a hat trick of assists, he started 6 more games doing absolutely nothing and almost half assing his job. He was then benched and he was surprised by that and acted like a spoilt child. He had an opportunity to play of the bench against Cadiz got 2 goals and then in Porto the whole team was in shambles. He deserves a few more chances but I would rather the club cash him in and rebuild the whole squad.
I agree in terms of the bad attitude but overall the microscope should be on Simeone because Atleti have dropped so low this season that until this point they are not in the conversation for any domestic title charges, despite being 3rd and without the Copa starting. Even with funds to rebuild, Atleti will be the same old under Diego Simeone
Agreed. Felix wasn’t as good (in terms of leading Atleti attack) or consistent as Griezmann. Blame should go to recruitment. Why keep buying fancy, attacking players when the defence needed big upgrade since 2021? Only De Paul and Molina made sense to me. The utter disregard for improving defence is baffling when Simeone obviously needs it. Simeone should also realize he can’t play defend and counter attack anymore when defence is this shaky. He should go all out on attack and keeping possession (because of the quality of new generation of Atletico players)
Felix should go to Manchester United. He will have Portuguese friends here, United need a new striker, and his technical ability would fit Ten Hag’s system like a glove. The Glazers are also willing to spend 150m for him.
they want him, yes. But they wont pay 150m for him. They offered 125m last year, but Atletico wouldnt sell him. Now they will, but united will never pay the required price, which will be around 150m. Atletico should have sold him last year to united if they wanted that kind of money for him. Now that Atletico isnt in champions league anymore, they need changes (or money, idk) and have to let him go. so they will be desperate to sell him, so they will sell him for much less than 150m. Well maybe im wrong. Thats just what i think tho.
Felix should go out on a loan move to Benfica. Benfiquistas would love that, Felix would love that. He can regain his confidence and happiness on the pitch so to increase his market value for a potencial sell in the summer. If Benfica makes another surgical attack on the market in January we could see them go far in the CL
Great rant about the transfer fees, Adrian. Because of you and others, I use One Football for my reads rather than loading up an insane amount of tabs of all the blogs etc that I used to follow, and I've noticed this with wages as well. Plenty of article/blog posts have X wages per week star .... It's a ridiculous thing to constantly link players to when talking about their performances.
Joao Felix should go to a club that utilizes his strengths fully. He is a talented forward with great potential to be world class, but playing for an extremely defensive team like Atletico Madrid is not going to do his career any good.
Please free this man from simeone, anyone who enjoys football likes felix, his talent is so evident any time he gets on the ball. A team with fast players running ahead of him and a balanced midfield behind him and he will shine
Sure Felix has talent but all he can really show fo it is half a season in Benfica. In Atletico and Portuguese National team he has been very underperforming.
The move from Benfica to Atletico never really made sense in the 1st place. Given his ability and style, there was no way he'd ever reach his best under Simeone. Don't understand how Jorge Mendes convinced Felix that this was the right step for him
This is one of those situations where the transfer wasn’t a good idea for the player or the club in the first place. The massive price tag was always going to be held over his head just like it is with any big money signing, and that coupled with the fact that Atletico’s style of play doesn’t exactly translate to massive offensive success has led to this. The transfer was doomed from the start in my opinion, I never understood why Atletico spent so much money on Felix in the first place
Atleti need to sell him in the winter window, hes never gonna work out under Simeone and we can get at least 80 million for him in the PL I think. Solves our money issues and even leaves enough for a decent centerback, which we are in dire need of.
I would love to see him at City. LW/inside forward role would be fun. Along with Bernardo at CM and even Cancelo behind them making that triangle would be a tremendous watch
@@ShindouShodan Arsenal plays 433 also? 😭 And they just bought Gabriel Jesus who he wouldn’t work with at all, and he wouldn’t play in Odegaard’s position. So, no
Not to mention City plays multiple systems at a high level + if needed to he could play off Haaland if he wanted to play as a SS (PL would be hopeless if this did ever happen)
@@godalbinothe he would compete with odegaard for that spot. City don't play multiple systems they just make a lot substitutions because there's a lot of competition for places. They already have Foden on the left and Jack. He is not going there to be on the bench.
Was really hoping he could get some form this season for the WC. He’s like a secret weapon, unfortunately if he’s struggling under Simone he will never fit in under santos .
Unless semione fails to qualify for UCL 2 seasons running, I can't see how he gets sacked. I really thought felix chose the right option by going to atleti as at United you'd have too much pressure, Chelsea fans are too divided and city will not cater to you specifically, I really thought atleti will keep him as a focul point. Sadly it wasn't the case.
From the moment the transfer happened, it didn't seem right but was hoping Simeone planned to expand his brand of football. I hope he moves for the sake of his future and he's welcomed here at Arsenal
I think it's not Felix, it's someone who needs to leave. He is becoming the new Arsen Wenger of athleico who doesn't deliver. His park the bus, and over defensive tactics just don't work in modern football
There's no way, that A) Bayern bid 9 digits (would be their 1st) on a such a gamble with no need for a player type like this, they'd need a 6 (CDM), maybe a LB backup and before Choupo-Goating i would've said a 9. They are stacked with young talents for all possible Felix positions. ...and B) That Atletico would not accept 100 mio after how it went so far. Wouldn't spend more than 40 mio flat, maybe a bit more with loan and option.
I remember him years ago from Football manager, then I never really saw him play until that hat trick in the europa league, I had been to see benfica play a year before that but didn’t look out for Felix, I think even from the beginning the transfer to Atleti was a strange one they’re a heavily defensive oriented team yet they bought one of europes most up and coming creative attacking players never made sense, there’s been sparks of brilliance but then times where all pundits talk about is his possible exit. At this point for the sake of his development and the clubs own interests I wouldn’t be surprised if Felix left after the World Cup though I could see him leaving in the summer as well. They’ve won a title and it’s been this long but simeone seems to have a style and with that style has players he trusts ahead of Felix but for Felix’s sake he needs a new start with s tan and manager that value what he brings
As an Aston Villa fan I'd be terrified if we sign him, he seems such a risky hugely expensive signing. But no doubt a phenomenal talent and if anyone can bring out the best in Felix it's Unai Emery.
With the Morata vs Felix you failed to mention how Morata is great in the press and works a lot without the ball while Felix doesn't really put a lot of effort without the ball
@@RabonaTV fair, but up until recently he really hasn't been great in the press, if this is something that he'll keep doing perhaps he'll get more chances than Morata
The video is spot on, and let me just add that now is the time to sack Simone as coach. Sometimes the orchestrator is no longer able to direct his control through his empowerment for his team. I believe these news would be welcomed if they came in the next few days, because, quite frankly, a new coach can come in and breathe new life into a team like Atleti with players as deserving as Joao.
Perhaps we should also consider that João felix just isn't that good and was a glorified overrated player. I remember he had a decent half a season at benfica and a very good game against eintracht frankfurt. Even by the portuguese league standards. Half a season isn't enough for anybody to consider you a good player and atlético did just that. Benfica really played the Spanish club (and who wouldn't) props to them. Just because felix showed glimps of good technique and other attributes doesn't instantly make him too good for atlético. Think we're forgetting this. I agree it isn't a team that suits his style but a good player always adapts just like suarez did in his first year for atlético coming from free flow football barca. Let's be honest. Felix just isn't that good.
I'm an atleti fan, but I don't watch them super often. I think it's time to part ways with Simeone now honestly after the WC. See if the next coach can revive Felix.. and then we at end of the season make a decision.
Remember his debut like it eas yesterday. Made similar run like messi vs getafe, but got fouled and it was a penalty. This guy will be a ballon dor contender if he transfer to an attacking minded team.
He's a good replacement for Firmino at Liverpool. They both play as deep lying forward looking to lay off passes to the inside forwards like Diaz and Salah.
The guy is excellent, and should absolutely leave Atleti. I wish he was on my club, the might Scunthorpe United, but seriously he needs more of his clubs offensive focus.
Felix's biggest issue is inconsistency. For every good game where he shows glimpses of greatness, he follows it with 4 dud performances...this has happened over and over during his time at Atleti. I think he has been given plenty of chances -- to the detriment of players like Correa -- but he just hasn't found a way to perform that well. Plenty of players have found ways to thrive at Atletico but he hasn't, so I don't think you can chalk it up to Atleti's playing style. I think he just hasn't lived up to the hype he had when he came to Atletico and I don't see him performing much better at other top clubs. It was clearly a gamble that didn't pay off for Atletico, sadly....I just hope they can sell him for a half way decent price and I hope Felix finds a club where he will be happier.
if a talented player like this getting hindered just think about the thousands of young players goin thru the same thing just cuz the don’t fit w the coach tactics.
this is a great video adrian. would it be possible to do something similar about kai havertz of chelsea? i feel like there might be a similar story there but he's gone through 3 managers and the price tag and the hype does not seem to live up to the name...chelsea fans are getting tired of backing him and his lee war received from scoring the champions league goal is diminishing
Atleti fan here who watches training and every game since his transfer and even before that. This is to all the haters towards Atleti's style of play and to those who are just fans of Joao and want the best for him. I love him and I can see why Simeone thought he can be Griezmann's major successor because of his skills, goals and assist before his transfer to Atleti and his taller stature than Griezmann. I think and hope Joao is just going through a long bad phase (He has a girlfriend in a profession and posts pictures of herself in a way that maybe can distract and prevents Joao's mind to focus on his best football. His mind can get broken and his mentally can be messed up depending on his way of thinking which I will never know relationship wise with him.) Footballing wise, his relationship with the club is not good that's why I brought up his girlfriend situation. He's made broad claims that he wants to win things Atleti haven't yet, but when things is not going his way, he makes the club as whole look bad (huge deal,) when he's doing negative things on camera for the media. I don't like him doing that because he's actually destroying Atleti's steadfast intensity and what makes that club and style of play beautiful to the fans who purchases tickets and on the media. Most importantly, Joao needs to adopt a warrior mentality and develope his patience, dedication and fitness for our club, that's why Simeone gave him great bench time to develope that and to see if his reactions would be of a world class attitude like how Griezmann was when he was getting benched at Barcelona when his performances was lacking. The fact of the matter is Joao can't run for long, doesn't want to defend in fear of tiring or injuries and is not producing the goods when he gets his chances come begging in UCL and laliga countless times this season. We need and I believe Simeone will invoke or evoke eventually that warrior mentality as he gets older and Joao will fight for our badge in the future I hope and believe.
I think you are not considering that his style of football is not and has never been of the warrior mentality, and most likely will not change. Some players are based on flair and that is where he is or was good, but needs to play consistently. He is the type of player for teams that play a continuous attacking style of football, what atletico does not. Not all players fit in every style of football, and many will simply degrade when consistently pressed to play a style of football that is not theirs and were they aren't able to express their football. Also that "style of play beautiful to the fans and on the media" has not been working that well for now 2 season and in truth the media wants very little to do with it. I understand Simeone has a huge symbolic aspect for Atletico, and i do not think he should be sacked , but he and the club need to figure out how they want to play and what type of players fit that. Felix doesn't fit in atletico, is in a state of stagnation and losing some of the fundamental years of development as a player , what also means he is de-valuating .
That is the most insightful analysis I’ve seen from an Atleti fan. I understand what you say. But I would also say that you might be trying to turn a bird into a fish. You will destroy his ability to fly and make him wonder why he doesn’t swim well like the other fish do. He is not Griezman. He might be even better than him… but not like this.
Yeah these responses I got is actually spot on. But I think I had it on my comment. It makes me so frustrated that Joao said he wants to win things that Atleti haven't, yet he does physical things like bad body language when things or his players is not passing the ball to him. Just can't wrap my head around that from Joao. Not sure if I want him to stay or leave.
@@knandez7__821 it just doesn’t work. I’m a Benfica fan. I’ve seen this guy. He is a prodigy. To me it feels like a waste. I think you have two good options from now on: either you loan him back to Benfica for confidence or you sell for less than you bought. There is a third… which is not having simeone. But this one if I was an Atleti fan I wouldn’t like either. The best thing you can hope is that Portugal actually does a good World Cup, he plays, scores and assists a couple of goals… Maybe then you have a shark picking him up. All the best for Atleti and for Spain.
@@elrond261980 I personally feel Simeone had build Atleti so much to have him leave on a all time low. I kind of feel I have more respect and appreciate for Simeone than his shitty team performances for the past two years to just kick him out. His screaming and the losing his voice and using so much energy after all games for Atleti means more to me. I just want him to win a champions league before he leaves.
Given everything the host said about his abiity. It would have been interesting to know what the thought process was in choosing Athletico Madrid and Diego Simione in the first place. What the hell was the Felix camp thinking when they decided to take the money and run to Simione. I don't buy the high price tag arguement. If a player makes the decision to go to the highest bidder...it's their choice. Everything.....high expectations, critisism, glory, commericials, etc,.... comes with the high price tag. What I'm hearing is that Felix made the choice based on money. If Mendes did work the deal for him to go to A Madrid, then Mendes was only concerned about his and the players bank accounts. Cleary, A Madrid was not the best place for a player of Felix's skill level. When was Simione the best Manager for developing skilled young players. This whole thing, to me, is on Felix, not A Madrid or even Simione. If Felix and his people really want to play football, then walk into the front office and say, I want to leave and I want to pay to get out of my contract. If he really wants to play and believes in his ability, he surely will be a star and recoup any money at the right club. But Felix, his people and his agent will never do that.....because it's ALWAYS about the money, not the football.
In the first half of the 20-21 season, I saw the best version of him. But continuous injuries, Someone's lack of progressiveness on pitch, we haven't got the best of him. Either he should leave or Simeone should be sacked. The latter seems impossible so he has to leave although I wanted him to succeed at atletico.
As an atleti fan, I like the guy a lot but simeone just doesn’t know how to use him, and he’s going nowhere so it’s better for felix to leave. I’d love for him to stay and succeed but under cholo it can’t happen
Wow, Rui Costa himself throwing darts at Atleti??? That's some next level beef right there. Maybe Simeone injured him once in Serie A and he kept the grudge LOL what a mess
What’s wrong in Athletic is…the manager. His path is over for a long time…FELIX needs a team that plays an attacking style!! I would love to see him in my Benfica again…but no money for that. So…England or Bayern M. Would be great for FELIX
I feel like he should really just leave Atletico and go to a team that’ll actually suit him or want to work with him. Both Real Madrid and Manchester United have a need for a striker right now and could suit his profile, whilst Chelsea also could be an option if they don’t want Auba or Havertz as ST. Felix’s combination of playmaking and goal threat as well as heading the ball well could make him a good Benzema replacement, whilst Man United could use him and Fernandes as a double second striker combo or even pair him and Ronaldo as a front 2.
Some of the blame has to go on Felix himself. He should've known better about Simeone's tactics and how he has zero expressive football in his game plan.
Maybe it's time to realize that the issue is Felix. He had lots of chances in Chelsea, but can never find the goals. Very overrated and Chelsea fans are getting tired of him.
@@tji7046 I think he would flourish under Arteta, his price tag is a huge question but if they could get him for the half atletico payed then that would be great for arsenal
@@antimadridistaCZ No disagreements, plus we know Arsenal like young players so this could be a good fit. We definitely need back up... Nelson did well in the previous game but that's one game, if he can be consistent on that front then maybe no rush.
Nah. He wants to play UCL. Plus he should go back to benfica because i reckon he would be a great assest to the team that hasnt lost a game yet this season
I have never seen anyone defended this much, a 34-35 year old outscored him in 2020. And Adrian says no attacker thrives under Simeone. Griezmann plays well under Simeone. Suarez had no issues. It is only Felix who throws a tantrum whenever he is benched etc. The system may not have been to the liking of Felix but he should have chosen a different team back then.
I have never seen this kind of energy for other players like Rashford, Sancho, Grealish. Rashford was banging 30 G/A for 2 seasons continuously before he had the operation and his form dipped, same for Grealish where he was the most prolific creator on par with Debruyne when he was Aston Villa, but no one says Pep is bad for not bringing out the best in Grealish.
Great, you remember the name of a portuguese player most people don't know. I wonder if you can make the same exercise for other leagues though. This "player only in a certain league" is utter bullshit. You have to account for context too. It's like concluding Hazard could only hack it in the English league because once he went ot La Liga he was shit...and before he went to England he was good but not THAT great......
i looked up your "how relevant are transfer fees" video and i couldnt seem to find. You said it was 3 years ago? Neither a google search nor going through your uploads helped(maybe im blind)
Adrian, any chance you could do something similar to Squawka with a Dream, Realistic, Wildcard video on what clubs both Felix and Simeone could go next please?
He needs to go to a team that plays more offensively. He is never going to succeed here whilst Simeone is managing. Because the style is not right and because Simeone does not believe in Joao. Arsenal, City, Bayern would be great for him, I still think he can be a top10 player in the world.
The problem is he never hit the ground running. Overhyped the same way as Thomas Lemar, atleast he wanted to change while Felix is spoiled and will probably leave instead of adapt and change.
I don’t see why he’s not getting the blame. World class strikers should be able to adapt. Griezmann did. Suarez did. Villa did etc. He cant. I’m not saying he’s bad but the fact people blame a world class coach who’s made successful attackers work in his system over a wonderkid is more baffling.
Simeone is not the brightest light out there... when there are personal problems between a 50yr old man and a 20yr kid... it is a problem of leadership competences...
Would he betray atletico to go to real Madrid?? Imo if it’s for his career I think he’d do it, considering benzema Is getting old and may retire soon. I think he’d be a good fit. But then again it’s risky.
Atleti needs to get rid of simeone now. He has done wonders for them over his time there but now they are just getting worse and worse. I think that poch would be a great fit for them and atleti would be a great fit for him.
Simeone would bench Messi because he would not defend or tackle aggressively... Atletico bought a virtuoso violin player and Simeone wants to give him the drums to play!!! Felix must leave if he wants to reach his full potential, the injuries and all the stuff are related to the fact that you don't ask an artist to brake his back painting buildings.
Joao Felix needs to leave that team is completely falling apart and he's way to good to be wasted on them, i'd love to see him go to England or Real Madrid but it would be a DREAM if he came back to Benfica I just don't see that being a realistic option at all unfortunately.
bem vindo ao Arsenal Joao Come to Arsenal Joao....we save stars. Thierry Henry, Bergkamp, Vieira, Odegaard....fun, attacking football. And most of the team speaks Portuguese
I'm honestly done with Simone. Been done with hime since last season he should of walked off the job the season he won the Liga. Could tell his era was at an end when he struggled to keep the lead that season.
I think you might need to do a video regarding the new things SRF dug up regarding the Qatar WC affair. It’s very interesting and definitely worth a closer look
