This lovely 1950 recording by Jo Stafford is featured in the movie "Carol" which is a 2015 British-American romantic drama film directed by Todd Haynes, from a screenplay by Phyllis Nagy, based on the novel The Price of Salt (also known as Carol) by Patricia Highsmith. The film stars Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Sarah Paulson, Kyle Chandler, and Jake Lacy. Set in 1952 in New York City, the film tells the story of a young aspiring photographer and her relationship with an older woman going through a difficult divorce.

well mick this a beauty & if my dear mother in law who was oh so hip you wouldent belive it if she was alive now she would say that must be have been based on a classical theme & I agree?.she saw the stones /the beatles/ the everly bros bo diddly & many others with us she just loved all music & took me & her daughter to a few classical concerts we took her to see errol garner she taught me how important all music is. to someone .thank you for this lovely post .

+Music Selection ..Thanks MS for those top marks.lol...I thought it was time for another song by Jo Stafford,I've loads of her stuff and it was pure fluke I chose this love ballad and then found out it had been featured in a recent film..I've just used stills from it and then an edited version of the trailer..Wasn't sure if it would be allowed,but the film makers have given permission,for now !

***** well that good about permission for trailer , thing is Mick they could use us to promote all their trailers lol .. I just had a request from Darren Burch to make a video for one of his tracks and I have just finished it , not uploaded yet as he may not like what I have done .. but what the hell I might just upload now lol

I''ll look out for the Darren Burch one then...I've made many videos for other people in the past and always tried to make a good job of it,of course,but you never really know if they like it or not.lol..

hi mick I tried that link it certainly fills you in re the history of that tune re the film title .the boss of our house is named carol l o l .we are enjoying watching back in time for the weekend on b b c 2 It certainly takes you back .when I first saw the title of this post I thought this is going to be no other love I which I think ann Shelton had a hit with it over here .

+mickbrod1 ..Hi Mick,I remember Ronny Hilton's 1953 record of No Other Love,it's a different song to this..It was recorded by a lot of people at the time,Anne Shelton probably recorded it as well,I don't remember though.lol...Haven't seen that BBC 2 TV program,I don't have much time to watch the telly !
