FABULOUS!! One of my all time favourite songs from one of my all time favourite singers. Here's to thirty more years of your singing. Much love from Manchester UK
My favorite era of Joan's voice--warmed by age and so, so colorful. Not yet in her alto phase (which came about 10 years later), her soprano at this time took on the most beautiful amber tone. What a voice.
I saw Joan Baez face to face, sitting next to my mother in 1986-7, it was the Brothers In Arms Tour. This what the tribes call "a real person" and I will never forget that night.
I have enjoyed this lilting song and this amazing singer for more years than I care to remember. Try enjoying the music and leave ancient damned politics out of it - just for once!! If it wasn't for politics and religion the world would be a peaceful place!
I agree. At times, folk songs must be all about politics, but again, at times they should be enjoyed just for the artistry they display. I have loved Joan Baez for her artistry for so many years. I own two copies of her first recorded album. One in monaural, one in stereo. Both, in mint condition, are nearly priceless now, But nothing so priceless of course, as the woman herself.
