I love that comment Joan said to Dorothy because its true and recorded that NOTHING happen between the 2 actresses during the making of Baby Jane. they were super professionals,
joan is 58 here. very witty woman with a terse sense of humor, the prize fight comment was a dig on dorothy and her gossip column. of course dorothy would be accurate after davis got an oscar nomination and crawford didn't. notice the lingering look crawford gives dorothy at the end.
Bette Davis did not age well but Joan Crawford always looked her best and was always reinventing her look. Joan knew how to dress and she knew how to act in public. I don’t blame her for not leaving two of her children out of her will and the other two didn’t get that much. Joan earned every dime she ever made and it’s her business what she did with it. RIP Joan , you are still loved by so many.
She was and will always be Hollywood Royalty. Love her or hate her, she was an amazing actress and even Bette Davis had to give props to her for being professional, the first person to show up for work and the last to leave and always knew her lines. I guess it took Bette working with someone um less professional :::cough::fayedunaway:::cough:: for her to appreciate how top notch Joan really was.
I don't care what any ungrateful kid says about her, I still love her. She truly was one of the greats. How much you want to guess how much money they still make off their dead mother.
She is actually, LOVABLE. Contrast this with the simulataneous appearance of Bette Davis on Andy Williams's show singing, "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" Bette is smug and affected. Joan here seems sincere, even meek.
Thank you to The Concluding Chapter of Crawford for this video and for compiling such an amazing collection of videos for us to see. I have just begun to look into the lives and films of our classic actors and actresses and Joan is my latest person of interest. Thanks again!!
