Ethan Mendick Joan is so sweet and down to earth. So glad she's not like some of the spoiled divas out there who make their fans wait for hours to see them.
Joan is a prime example of someone who is passionate about playing music. The secret to life and success is finding your passion and you will love going to work everyday. She lives her dream.
She, and the Blackhearts, just get better and better. As far as lives performances, quite honestly, doesn't get much better than Joan Jett &The Blackhearts
a reluctant idol. I think if somebody asked what rock 'n' roll was and you played Joan Jett for them they'd have a clear understanding. she doesn't play rock 'n' roll, she exudes it.
Joan is so humble, nothing complicated about her, she's solid and has a beautiful personality. What strikes me the most about Joan is, that she doesn't seem to feel the need to have a foul mouth. Joan is a class act. Love her to pieces. :)
Joan Jett, rock icon, influenced and motivated so many of us as teenagers and musicians growing up in the eighties and gave a generation a voice and a genre that will stand the test of time! Congrats on Hall of Fame induction Joan, you earned it!
Most def one of THE BEST interviews with Joan. No Opra or other "talk show " bitches asking a question and then talking over her b4 she is finished with an answer!.
And her performance on stage is awesome, unlike some bands who give a second rate performance, Joan always gives it her best, you've got to love that about her. Joan is TOP notch.
Saw Joan Jett in Louisville this summer where I live. She still has it and rocks on. A One of a kind, an icon. She walks the walk. Rock and roll inductee. Need I say more? Keep on keepin on Joan. Love you girl.
What a brilliant interview and Joan is so intelligent and humble..Much respect for Joan and the way she has transformed punk and rock music..tw.Australia.
I have now picked up guitars again. Thanks to you. I have lost much. I cranked up my with lots of gain. With all my Windows open. I looked out after 20 mins and people were dancing in street. I could get you dancing. I was good all those years ago. M C UK 🇬🇧 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ FOR YOU SEE Y'all
Great interview. Joan is given the time and space to express herself and really opens up... giving us some good insight into her world. And damn she still rocks and sounds (and looks) F'n amazing!
She's so beautiful, lively, intelligent and sexy. Definitely my kinda woman. And the music is superb, that band sounds great. I wish I just could see them alive. Not much chance, though. Anyway, thank you for the uploading.
Joan Jett aside from being one of the greatest and more influential performers in Music History, she is also one of my most beloved Rock Icons I grew up listening to, and as I get older she has become a huge inspiration to state that you can embrace your Rock N Roll roots no matter what age you are.
Joanie was being humble, when he asked her whether she thought she had been a trailblazer. I was sitting here shouting "Stop being humble and just say YES! You've definitely earned it."
Just love Joan Jett, she is the real deal, stayed true to her style, and hit the road for a lifetime of Rock and Roll HER WAY! There are many ways to gauge a successful Music career, the amount of duckets you make, the amount of songs you write and record etc...I personally think Joan's success is her sound and style that is going to live literally forever in music history, it is not vague or just a slight step in Rock, but a WHOLE FLOOR in the building!
To Jettigre1... *THANK YOU* so much for uploading this! I'll never forget the first time I heard *Joan*... it was so powerful and amazing. Then, the first video of hers that I saw was for *Crimson & Clover* and I fell head over heels in love! To see this interview, to see a part of her that we hardly ever see of an artist, was so awesome! She's so down to earth, level headed and focused and I am so proud of her for all of her accomplishments! I'm also really happy that the R&RHOF finally put her and her band in! They definitely deserve it!!!
A self made Icon, NO ONE EVER DID MORE WITH LESS then Joan Jett.....I am the basic Joe South, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash baritone singers fan......but dang Joan Jett does what she does as good as anyone.
Great interview. I wish Joan and Lita had stayed together. I think their sounds are opposite but complimentary and they could have produced something that was even better than the great stuff they produced individually. Mixing that greasy, raw Jett sound with the bright tones of Lita's riffs.

A National Treasure! Love her story and her music. Still beautiful and genuine. Her humility is so self-explaining. Would love to meet her some day! By-the-way, that wink of an eye gets me every time.
Joan Jett story for ya! I was going to see The Blackhearts on the I love Rock n Roll tour (81 if I remember correctly) I was a scruffy punk living in Leeds UK and in town that day. I turned and saw this gorgeous Joan Jett lookalike standing right behind me and she gave me a smile, I smiled back thinking this girl was really hot. She was a tiny yet stunning woman, and I watched as she walked up the highstreet, noticing she had Cheap Trick on the back of her leather jacket. Anyway, I was right up front that night at the gig and on comes the very same woman I'd seen earlier that day, leather clad beauty, Cheap Trick jacket on. That was the loudest gig I'd ever been to and my ears were ringing for 3 days after. What a legend, and what a regret that I never realised it was actually her smiling at me that day. Still looking absolutely amazing Joan 🖤
Joan is so natural and honest. She speaks from the heart and doesn't let the success go to her head. That's refreshing and I'd love to meet her one day, because not only is she talented, but a pioneer of women's rock and roll as well.
She's so modest and almost shy. Very impressive person and performer; very well spoken. The camera loves her. When she flashes those wide open eyes, I'm in love. Thanks Joan for persevering.
Had the pleasure of having Joan Jett be my first major live concert and met Nic and his girlfriend at my hotel. Helped him to his room, went to the Front Desk to get something. As I left to retrieve whatever I was getting for him, I was like, “That was Nic Harcort.” As soon as I came back to the room, I said, “Joan Jett was my first concert and your interview on GT sessions was the best interview ever! Love her and Nic is cool AF!
Joan's style, passion and acttitude are defently an influence for all women who likes rock n roll and special IF girls Wants TO form a band. She Is an example TO follow. My respects and love to her.🤘
Joan Jett is one of the reasons I am learning to play the electric guitar. I've been playing a Jackson RR JS32 for $300 for the past 10 years and just got my first real guitar at 50. A beautiful 2016 Gibson Les Paul Studio HP in Wine Red. (Cherry bomb Red?) Thank you for everything Joan!
I cannot wait to see her and her band in Oct in Toronto, in October. Be my 3rd time to see her in concert.... this interview and concert footage was so cool.....
Joan's been making my heart skip a beat since I was a teenager. Had her first album on vinyl. Used to imagine I was the dude by the record machine. At about 44:00 regarding success. Success means you get to keep going. Not the end, the beginning.
