I support Miley. I did not before I didn't know what she was about. I'm happy she has a focus to help others. It's healthy. And she has a genuinely vibrant and sincere vibe that is real and not Hollywood.

For all of the people that are hating on mileys musical artistry, you guys have to understand that she is and will always will be her own artist whether some may like it or really understand/relate to her musical vision and aesthetics. no artists musical style is someones cup of tea. it is completely ok to comment things you guys dont like or agree on about an artist(meaning constructive criticism). Dont have to say things like she is trash/has no class or that her music has no meaning or that she got a free pass in the music industry because of being on Disney. First of all nothing in life is ever a free pass for any human being whether they are rich or poor, they all go through their lifes own unique struggles and obstacles. You guys have to really think before you write on the comments so that it doesnt come off sounding too much like a personal attack on the artists value as a person at the end of the day. remember guys, it takes a lot of bravery and a lot of heart and soul for artists to put themselves out there for the public to take in their art and at least hope someone gets their music. one of the best things about music in general is that we can pick and choose which artist we like to hear and identify with to our own liking. No one is really forced to like or listen to their music if they dont want to. theres nothing really positive or helpful comes out for artists and society in general if we constantly feel like it is our right as a human to hate on an artist just because we are not fans of their music. Also, what they portray in their musical career is not always how they really are in their personal life. they are both separate things in a persons life and identity as a person. you cannot judge a persons entire character based off of the kinds of music they like to make and share it to the world.
I used to really not like Miley Cyrus at all and then I found out Joan Jett likes her so I was like well then she can't be all bad so I listened to some more Miley Cyrus, and, well, I'm a fan now.

Im not a huge Pink Floyd fan but Miley's rendering of Wish You Were Here defies description. It could make one rend their garments. Dare you not to cry, you will miss people more than half your life ago. Zero to tenth grade in 3.6 seconds.
Miley's a lot smarter than her stage persona - she played the media and the industry without falling down the rabbithole that so many of her peers have dived into, The Voice is complete BS IMO, but its good to see an interview with someone who can play the game without getting chewed up in the process. Joan had her share of issues growing up and she would have been one of the people Miley was able to learn from growing up - compare that to other child stars who've ignored the cautionary tales around them. I wish her well.
hi arthur, i see both of these ladies as being very strong and smart female artists that not only know how to grab peoples attention by their unconventional styles of music of their times but also very street smart in getting their bold and unique visions into mainstream level.

I appreciate their spin on it. But it is a competition show. This isn’t about everyone gets their dream record contract. It’s an entertaining, competitive show where we get to see people bring their best. Those who do not, don’t advance. It seems these 2 are basing their opinion on talent only. They lose sight of their will be 1 winner and a lot of losers. But let’s remember a lot of those who so called lose or eliminated. Do get the National audience and the possibility of being discovered, even of they don’t win the whole,e show. That’s the payoff.

But the truth is neither of them are. They're talented good people, and now that they have a song together on Miley's new rock album, it's going to help revive the dying genre of rock.

Joan Jett is a terrific performer even now. She is a great talent. But it seems that with Miley Cyrus, she fell to the wrong side of performing. When she was the Hannah Montana and was "respectable" for lack of another word. But there has been a change that many just can't identify with. I hope she goes back to God.

Every rockstar has a trainwreck bump in their timeline. Miley isn't unique in that either. Like Joe Rogan said, she's one of the few to start very young & come out of that industry unscathed.
