I met Joan Jett at Bush Gardens in Williamsburg Virginia in 1984.We were a group of sailors from the JFK CV67. I said look , there's that girl from the runaways. She introduced herself and talked with us for a few minutes. She was so nice ,and beautiful !
I really like Susie Quatro, but once Joan Jett dropped into the Rock scene I couldn't get enough of her... She was and still is the real deal. Susie Quatro always seemed manufactured like how Bubble gum pop was back in the day, as if they needed to create an image of a Rock Chic that still appealed to the Church goers... But when Joan burst onto the scene she kicked the doors down with the realism of what a Rocker was... not just something someone made up... but someone Joan actually was and still is. Genuine... still maintaining her natural beauty and talent over all these years too.
I would agree some what. The chick who really kicked doors open,Wendy Williams. Now that was a lady way ahead of her time. I haven't seen any female on rock come close to her. There is lots on RU-vid about her. Check it out, she will blow you away.
I am getting your awesome shag haircut when quarantine is over! 😍 Hope it turns out half as good as yours! I got to see you perform Aug. 28th, 2019, at the Ak-Chin Pavilion in Phoenix, AZ w/Heart! You were so awesome! It rained that night but I was under the roof, thanks to my husband's careful planning! I enjoyed myself so much that night! You are so blessed with all these years of music experience under your belt - since 14 yrs.?! Keep it rocking!
Definitely a trend setter, all around great performer, song writer etc. Thanks for sharing the photos. Brings back good memories in my life before everything went to hell, not just for me, but everyone else too.
THE Queen of Rock ! --------------I saw The Runaways at The LA Palladium in '76. I was totally blown away, & totally in love/lust, with Joan.---------Through the years-------------she's the real deal.-------and oh yes : Lita could scream, on that guitar ! -------------------WolfSky9, 73 y/o, ;LA/USA
What a great rock legend, we still adore you Joan. I think the only time I got to see you live in concert was at the Capital Center as an opening band way back when, you blew away the main attraction band. Wish you were here now, still millions of fans that love you !
I LOVE these pictures. I love how she was obsessed with Suzi Quatro.. it makes me feel a little more normal about my obsessions. Haha. I love how you added "Asshole" after Scott Anderson.. that gave me a laugh, hah.
Usually i get upset when my photos are used without photo credit..but you did a nice job with this..and your first picture (Along with a few others) belong to me..Cheers.. Brian Lucey Music Photographer since this lame site will not allow website you can just type my last name with the word "photography after and the usual dotcom..enjoy.."
joan jerr I have love watching you and the black hearts and the runaways rock you are great legend live and it is my dreams to come to see you live some time soon hope you had a great birthday
After the Runaways, she never played in a all girl band again. To much jealousy, bickering, and everyone having a different opinion on the direction of the band. Total chaos...
0.28 is she all right? O.O it may just be a joke pic but if anybody knows what it is please tell me :) I'm 18 but I absolutely love 70s heavy metal and punk rock!!! 🤘🏻😝🤘🏻
