I had the uncensored cassette since I was eleven. I practically memorized it. Joan sounds exactly like the studio version. She is absolutely the real thing. Unlike certain other rock celebrities who clearly should face mandatory retirement (see my previous comment).
I've been wanting to listen to "Album" in the car, but I never had the CD, just the uncensored cassette, and my cassettes are all jammed into one box with a huge pile of books on top. So I figured, _no way in hell am I ever gonna find that._ Then, this morning, I decided to actually look for it, and it was RIGHT THE FUCK THERE, on top of the whole damn pile! I love it when shit like that happens! I was dying to hear "Handyman" and all the other songs in running order. >"You come around / I can take it >When you're here / Don't have to fake it >I'm in your spell / I'm stark naked >Come as fast as you can >I need my handyman . . . ." ... Mmm! Yes ma'am! Right away, ma'am!"
love this song. this concert was one of the cleanest in sound. and of course how beautiful she looks. good everywhere is beautiful. star star. I love how it moves and is expressed Antye the cameras is just great.
Joan Just Made MY Day - Approx 1Yr Later!! Best LIVE version of this Song I've heard from Her - She Kicks STILL KICKS ASS!! THANK THE UNIVERSE 4Giving US Joan Jett - Cause YES - She IS - A TRUE R'n'R GODDESS!!
I Saw Her Opening 4Robert Plant - 29ish Yrs ago (When I Was Young). Tickets went fast - So We Got Tickets Just SLIGHTLY Behind the Stage, About a 100 degrees from the front. We Had 3rd Row Seats - So we we're Pretty Close. I'll Just Say Her Performance WAS FANTASTIC - & The view from those "Cheap" & "Last 2B Sold" Seats Behind the Stage, Turned out 2B the BEST VIEW! Those Black Leather Pants!? Whoa! All HER Best Songs & THEN PLANT - 1/2 SOLO & 1/2 ZEP!? Truly an Experience That I'll NEVER FORGET!!
Rock on, JOAN!!! Yeehaw! She's from my home state. Love her! Pun definitely intended: It takes balls to cover THIS song! Damn, she's got 'em. Joan Jett, Janis Joplin, Melissa Etheridge, Dana Fuchs ... THESE are rocker chicks! Love 'em! Honorable mention to Joss Stone, but she sings soul.
Rock on Joanie! I know your words, your feelings and the context of this song. I love you sweetie! I hope you have readmy letter by now. Big hug kitten
I saw Joan probably 5 times during that time period. (She kept coming thru the Dallas area between her second and third albums.) She didn’t annunciate the lyrics as much as she does here.
I know it's a really old post, but if you don't know, Walmart doesn't like bad language on music they sell. This was a bonus track on Joan's cassette Walmart was putting out for sale. They weren't too happy when they discovered the "bonus" track needless to say. Hope that helped.
jimmiemclovin I had the cassette back in the day and it wasn't listed on the song list so it came as a surprise bonus track. I remember the first time I heard it I was like "wtf is this.". I thought I had it on mine only because I bought a bootleg version overseas.
at best.its a good cover from a Stones tribute band, but makes this song her own?!?!? check out mick and the boys doing this live then come back and apologise.
No one said anything about J.J. being gay dude, she's been with Kenny Laguna for fking yr's.. But yeah i agree who gives a flying fk IF she was ✊✊......
Oddly, when I was growing up, my Dad had precisely two (2) Rolling Stones albums: A two-record best-of compilation, and Goat's Head Soup, which is where this song is from. So I'm familiar with the original, and it was never half as good as Joan's. I can't count how many songs she's vastly improved by covering!
THE More i listen to this the more i like it better then the stones version....i am from nyc joan lives here one of my friends claims he saw at one of the nyc bonadge clubs all decked out in leather and every girl here wanted to do her straight girls included.....he said when you see her up close her face is the type thats beautiful with no make up....i believe him too about the whole story
