This guy has stood out as much as any other rider. To finish P3 in the championship despite racing a couple of fast yamahas, 4 fast ducatis, a fast marc marquez on honda and an ever improving pol espargaro (agree the hondas came to the front late in the championship) and the odd fast KTM, Mir has genuinely proven to all the doubters that 2020 wasn't a fluke. All mir needs is a faster bike. He is super consistent, but needs some more horsepower to actually battle the yamahas and ducatis. A lineup of Joan Mir and Fabio Quartararo for Yamaha is a dream lineup I want to see. For reference this season we can see what happened to alex rins, who is no slouch either.

If Suzuki can give Mir a bike with more top speed he can win. Watching Portimao this year was clear that if he was on a Ducati like Pecco he would have passed Pecco, he was on him all race and evrytime he went out of the slipstream to pass Pecco the Ducati would pull back away. People talk bad about him because he has 1 win but like I said if he was on Ducati he would have way more wins than that.

If one rider Jorge Lorenzo needs to mentor for racing consistency is this young man!!

We all agree that he finished third in the championship with that suzuki is impressive. He showed his potential with a bike that was overshadowed by the likes of Ducatis and Yamaha. He was consistent last year but more impotantly this year as well. The difference is last year he was on a bike which received many praises but this year it was not.

Mir is awesome. World Champion before he had a front row start.

Does Honda need him? I wish Suzuki and Mir to stay together for 10 years and succeed together in MotoGP

Mir's championship title has put Rins under immense pressure. Suzuki should go all-in with Mir, not Rins. Rins is fast but very inconsistent and crash-prone; Mir's racecraft is kinda underrated, but his mentality and consistency are proven in this "chaotic" MotoGP era.

Had to go digging to find top 5 for 2020 Champion in 2021. So many of us knew 2020 would not repeat for #36... ever. 2022 is going to be a shootout.

If only in MotoGP there was a radio to communicate with racers, like in F1, with that we could find out how the condition of the racers during the race.

Suzuki always has a weak engine hp even on its road bikes when you put a 1000cc ducati and suzuki side by side suzuki always has a weaker engine maybe the technology and craftmanship lack you see in a race sacrifice a little bit of reliability with speed japanese philosophy that reliability comes first you can do that on a road bike but not on a race
