"I'm Sophia Loren and you're not." Joan was great. The film was great. Joan's drive and chutzpah were to be admired even if you might not have liked her jokes. She was also fantastic with the money.
Joan rivers was a smart woman.......as well as a funny one. I personally, appreciated listening to this interview as it gives me another chance to see the depth of her intelligence. You cannot be a exceptionally good at anything without the going to the depths she took her "job" I miss her today and always will....she was a true genius !
I loved hearing what her steps were when the audience was a problem/heckler. Her business like routine. She really acts like she doesn’t care but you can see here, she very much did care.

I still forget she's gone when I binge watch Joan Rivers on RU-vid, her death was so preventable and I wouldve loved to have watched her reaction to Kathy Griffin and the "head".... it would've been interesting to see if joan would've pulled an Anderson cooper and unfriend her
Joan Rivers jokes were in your face real! She said some things that other comedians were afraid to say, and didn't bite her tongue saying it, it's why America loved her! Love her from day one..can we talk? RIP Joan, gone too soon!
Why all the hate ? And fighting? If you don't like her then why are you here? She was a one of a kind performer who worked her ass off for decades .. I don't always agree with some of her jokes BUT That's Joan that's her style , unapologetic, in your face and a brilliantly executed routine night after night ... I clicked on this because I watched Leno since he started and have never thought he was funny either. It always baffled me that it was him that replaced Johnny.
Leno would not book her because of Carson, therein lies why Joan never liked him.. He was the last late night host I use to watch. All the johnny come lately hacks are horrible.

Conan had a very bad start. He had very bad press that he deserved at the time. I remember now NOT funny he was in the beginning. Go back and watch if you don't believe me. Some of his guests were cringing visibly on camera. He got better and better and now he's one of my very favorites. I love him now.
Johnny Carson was a terminal cocaine addict with all the underlying addict dysfunction. It's easy to see what happened if you get that piece of the puzzle, and for some reasons Americans just don't see the symptoms: the hyperactivity, the tapping pencil, the tomestone eyes.
@4.45 interesting that Joan always use the expression that "(Carson) was the best STRAIGHT man in the business." She is the best at revealing the truth about power in hwood, etc, areas that others avoid word one--always. What do you think this expression means "the best straight man in the business?"
